Brian Stelter Complains After Trump Denies His Request For Access To Bedminster Press Conference thumbnail

Brian Stelter Complains After Trump Denies His Request For Access To Bedminster Press Conference

The New Atlantis

Former CNN host and notorious Trump critic Brian Stelter took to X to complain when he reportedly applied for credentials to the former president’s Bedminister press conference and was denied.

Stelter — whose partisan left-wing opinion show “Reliable Sources” was cancelled by CNN in 2022 — is currently working with Vanity Fair magazine. On Thursday, the vehement Trump hater took to X to complain after his press credentials were denied.

“Yesterday I applied for media credentials for today’s Trump press conference. I used my Condé Nast email address and Vanity Fair special correspondent title. I received an email saying my request was denied,” he wrote.

Stelter’s post was largely met with ridicule. “Were other DNC propagandists and propaganda outlets also denied? Or just you?” asked The Federalist reporter Mollie Hemingway.

Others pointed to the lack of a similar press conference held by Vice President Harris. In 25 days since becoming the de-facto Democratic Party presidential nominee, Harris has yet to give a single interview or hold a press conference.

“Did you get credentialed for Kamala Harris’s press conference? Oh she didn’t have one,” wrote one X user.

Stelter’s denial is perhaps unsurprising given his frequent partisan criticisms of the president and his supporters.

“He seems physically incapable of hiding his jealousy of Kamala Harris,” Stelter said during an appearance on MSNBC just a day before the press conference. “He was even talking about her “Time” Magazine cover and complimenting it and wanting to know who illustrated it. I think Kamala Harris is his kryptonite, and he doesn’t know what to do about it. ”

“Ya know tomorrow he’s holding another press conference, which probably won’t go well for him based on what we’ve seen in the past,” he added.

When Stelter was fired by CNN in 2022, the former president wrote, “Brian Stelter of Fake News CNN got fired because he lied, and lied, and lied – ABOUT ME. May he REST IN PEACE!”

While taking questions from reporters at his Bedminster golf course in New Jersey on Thursday, former President Donald Trump responded to a question about his “personal attacks” on Kamala Harris by pointing to her own campaign rhetoric.

“I’m very angry at her, that she’s weaponized the justice system against me and other people. Very angry at her. I think I’m entitled to personal attacks,” the former president said. “I don’t have a-lot of respect for her, I don’t have a-lot of respect for her intelligence, and I think she’ll be a terrible president.”

The Republican nominee went on to respond to the Harris Campaign’s lack of messaging, which has hinged on referring to both Trump and J.D. Vance as “weird.”

“And we have this guy that’s running a failed, really a very failed state, who’s had a terrible career. I mean, you have him saying they’re weird. No, he’s a weird guy. And she’s weird in her policy. Who wouldn’t want to have strong borders? Who doesn’t want to have lower taxes?” Trump said in response to Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

He also pointed to Harris’ lack of accomplishments and electoral success. “I don’t think people know who she is yet. When people because really, people didn’t know. You can ask the man on the street. I saw it on one of the shows today. They asked him in his seat. ‘What’s the last name of Kamala?’ Nobody knew.”

Elsewhere in the press conference, Trump asked how Harris can be promising to do things “on day one” when she is already in office.

“So she is saying when she gets in — she’s in now. And especially with Biden, because I mean, he’s not in the best of shape. But you know what? She’s in there now. She can do anything she wants. And she’s still saying, ‘if you elect me, I’ll do this, I’ll do…’ Why didn’t she do it?” the former president said.

“Here’s my one question, it’s the easiest question, because she complains about everything, everything, everything. Why didn’t she do it? That’s all I ask.”

Alan Dershowitz Makes Ominous Prediction On Trump’s Possible Prison Sentence

Alan Dershowitz Makes Ominous Prediction On Trump’s Possible Prison Sentence

The New Atlantis

Convicted on 34 business records violations, former President Trump was originally scheduled for sentencing on July 11. However, following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that determined presidents possess partial immunity for actions taken while in office, the sentencing was postponed to September 18. This delay, granted by Judge Juan Merchan, has allowed time for both Trump’s defense team and the office of Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to adjust their strategies.

The case has stirred considerable controversy, not least because of Judge Merchan’s refusal to recuse himself over conflicts of interest, given his daughter Loren Merchan’s professional ties to Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party. On Wednesday, famed lawyer Alan Dershowitz weighed in with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“It’s so deeply embedded the one rule that we have violated is the most important rule of all, a single standard of justice without regard to who the person is,” Dershowitz explained. “You know, the Bible commands judges do not recognize faces, do not recognize political parties, do not recognize partisanship. By the standards used by Judge Merchan to convict Donald Trump of a non-crime, you called it a novel crime. It’s not a crime at all.”

“My preference would be to have neither of them charged. I want to see the charges against Trump dropped, but it’s not gonna happen,” Dershowitz continued. He predicted a peculiar outcome: “Merchan is gonna sentence him to prison, but he’s not gonna impose the prison sentence. He’s gonna say, ‘I’m sentencing you to prison, you deserve imprisonment for this, but I’m going to suspend the sentence.’”

WATCH:

The speculative outcome, according to Dershowitz, would allow the judicial system to make a statement while avoiding making Trump a martyr in the eyes of his supporters, potentially galvanizing his base. “But right now, I agree with you, it’s unfixable. So much destruction has been done to it.”

Hannity hinted at the social repercussions for Trump, suggesting that while he might face ostracization in some quarters, such as being rescinded from social invitations, the ultimate impact of this case might be negligible in the long run. “He’ll get all the invitations that were rescinded from you when he goes to Martha’s Vineyard and hangs out in New York City. They’ll be able to say, they’ll get what they want, convicted and sentenced, and then it’ll get overturned and nobody will care because that’ll be after the election.”

Trump’s initial plea for recusal was filed by Trump’s legal team in May 2023. They contended that Justice Merchan’s impartiality could be compromised because of his daughter’s consultancy work, which included support for Joe Biden. In his attempt last month, Trump pointed to new circumstances in his ongoing bid to have Justice Juan Merchan recuse himself from his criminal case.

With Biden no longer seeking reelection and Vice President Kamala Harris stepping into the presidential race, Trump’s team argued that Merchan’s impartiality was in question due to his daughter’s firm’s support for Harris. However, Justice Merchan dismissed the request this past Tuesday—a decision that was publicized on Wednesday. He stated that Trump’s arguments were merely reiterations of those previously rejected by both him and an ethics panel.

Trump Reacts To Kamala’s Price Control Plan: ‘Straight Out Of Venezuela Or The Soviet Union’

The New Atlantis

During a lengthy press conference at the Trump Bedminster golf course on Thursday, former President Donald Trump referred to Kamala Harris’ plan to institute fixed-pricing on grocery chains and suppliers as “the Maduro plan.”

After weeks of refusal to release specific policy goals, the Kamala Harris Campaign finally released one on Wednesday with a plan to crack down on “corporate price gouging.” The Biden-Harris Administration have repeatedly blamed America’s inflation woes — which has routinely been named as a top concern among voters — on what they deem to be price gouging.

In addition to her push for the first-ever federal ban on price gouging by food corporations, she would also direct the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general to investigate and levy penalties on food companies that violate the federal ban, a Harris Campaign spokesperson said.

Critics, including former President Trump, have compared the plan to those implemented by Communist-run planned economies in the Soviet Union or Venezuela, which led to massive shortages, rationing, and famines.

On Wednesday, former President Trump invited reporters to his Bedminster golf course for his second press conference in as many weeks. The Trump Campaign has repeatedly attacked Harris for refusing to sit for a set-down interview or hold a press conference, something she has refused to do for going on 25 days.

The Republican nominee centered the press conference on inflation and other rising costs that have consistently polled as a top issue for voters. “Grocery prices have skyrocketed. Cereals are up 26 percent. Bread is up 24 percent. Butter is up 37 percent. Baby formula is up 30 percent. Flour is up 38 percent. And eggs are up 46 percent. And many items are up at much higher rates than that,” Trump said while speaking in front of a selection of common household products.

“Now, Kamala is reportedly proposing communist price controls. She wants price controls. And if they worked, I’d go along with it too. But they don’t work. They actually have the exact opposite impact and effect. But it leads to food shortages, rationing, hunger, dramatically more inflation. Their Inflation Reduction Act, by the way, was a disaster. It’s what caused the inflation. Their Inflation Reduction Act was a con job,” the former president continued.

“I said, that’s going to cause tremendous inflation, and it did, among other things, like energy. She’s running on the Maduro plan. We call it the Maduro plan, like something straight out of Venezuela or the Soviet Union.”

In addition to her push for the first-ever federal ban on price gouging by food corporations, she would also direct the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general to investigate and levy penalties on food companies that violate the federal ban, a Harris Campaign spokesperson said. CAST YOUR VOTE: Should Voter ID Be Mandatory In The 2024 Election? We call it the Maduro plan, like something straight out of Venezuela or the Soviet Union.” (VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?), , Trump Reacts To Kamala’s Price Control Plan: ‘Straight Out Of Venezuela Or The Soviet Union’, https://trendingpoliticsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/IMG_5965.jpg, Trending Politics Conservative News and Commentary, , https://trendingpoliticsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/cropped-Trending-Politics-ILMF-Logo-Heart-bubble-32×32.jpg, https://trendingpoliticsnews.com/feed/, Cullen McCue,

Wally Amos, the pioneering entrepreneur behind the renowned Famous Amos cookie brand, has passed away at the age of 88. Starting with a modest $25,000 loan from friends in Hollywood in 1975, Amos launched what would become one of the first companies to market high-quality cookies directly from its own stores. His innovative approach helped make Famous Amos a household name globally.

He died on Tuesday at his home in Honolulu, with his children, Shawn and Sarah Amos, citing complications from dementia as the cause of his death according to The New York Times.

Often hailed as the father of the gourmet cookie industry, Amos has an inspiring story that goes beyond his famous chocolate chip cookies. Born in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1936, Amos faced early challenges but transformed them into stepping stones. After a stint in the Air Force, he moved to New York City where he worked as a stock clerk at Saks Fifth Avenue. His charisma and zeal soon led him to the William Morris Agency, where he eventually became the first African American talent agent. There, he represented superstars such as Simon & Garfunkel and Marvin Gaye.

However, it was his homemade cookies that made Amos a household name. In 1975, he set up “Famous Amos” on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California, with the encouragement and financial support of his celebrity friends. His chocolate chip cookies quickly became a sensation, appealing not just for their taste but also for their premium ingredients.

“You can’t compare a machine-made cookie with a handmade cookie,” Amos said in a 2007 MSNBC interview. “It’s like comparing a Rolls-Royce with a Volkswagen.”

Despite his initial success, Amos’s journey was not without its setbacks. Financial missteps and management issues led him to lose control of the Famous Amos company by the late 1980s. The brand changed hands several times, though Amos himself never regained an ownership stake. Yet, his entrepreneurial spirit was undeterred. He launched other ventures, such as “Uncle Noname Cookie Company,” which was later renamed “Uncle Wally’s Muffin Company.”

In a 1991 interview with Detroit Black Journal, Wally Amos shared that his journey into the cookie business was more about passion than profit. “I started making cookies just to make a living and to be happy doing what I was doing,” Amos explained.

“And I just, I was so committed and so involved and so joyous about it.” He further emphasized his mindset at the outset, saying, “I didn’t say, ‘Hey, I’m going to go in the cookie business, make a lot of money, you know, sell out of cookies.’ I said, ‘Well, do something I like the way I want to do it,’ you know, I’m going to have fun doing it.”

Beyond his business endeavors, Amos has dedicated a significant part of his life to literacy causes. Troubled by his own early reading difficulties, he founded the Read It Loud! Foundation, advocating the importance of parents reading to their children. His commitment to education and literacy underscores his belief in giving back to the community.

JUST IN: Shocking New Details Emerge From Tim Walz’s DUI Arrest

The New Atlantis

In September 1995, then-high school teacher and 31-year-old Tim Walz was arrested for speeding and driving under the influence in Nebraska. He was caught driving 96 mph in a 55 mph zone, and a blood test at a local hospital revealed a blood alcohol level of .128, exceeding the state’s limit of 0.1. Walz pled guilty to reckless driving and later used the incident to educate students about the dangers of drinking and driving.

His attorney stated that Walz sped up initially because he mistook the pursuing state trooper for a pursuer. CNN now reported yet another example of past misrepresentations by the Minnesota Governor, focusing on his 1995 DUI arrest. As Governor Walz pairs up with Vice President Kamala Harris for the upcoming November elections, his history of distorted truths continues to stir controversy among conservatives.

Despite the clear records from 1995, during his 2006 congressional campaign, Walz’s team told a different story. They denied any alcohol consumption on the night of his arrest, attributing his failed field sobriety test to hearing impairments from his service in the National Guard. Moreover, they falsely claimed that Walz was permitted to drive himself to jail, contradicting the actual events where he was transported by a state trooper.

An investigation by CNN’s KFile has highlighted significant discrepancies in the descriptions provided by the campaign of Governor Walz.

This photo from the Dawes County Sheriff's Office in Nebraska shows Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz in 1995 following his arrest for drunk and reckless driving.
This photo from the Dawes County Sheriff’s Office in Nebraska shows Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz in 1995 following his arrest for drunk and reckless driving.

When questioned about arresting a man named Tim Walz for drunk driving on a distant Saturday night, Nebraska State Trooper Stephen Rasgorshek referenced a rule he developed over the course of making over 1,000 similar arrests on Nebraska’s roads.

“One of the things I’ve always said is, anyone can get a DUI. It’s what you do with it after you get the DUI,” Rasgorshek said to The Daily Beast on Monday. “If he had stuck with his story of, ‘Look, it changed my life and I stopped drinking,’ I would commend him, 1,000 percent.”

Walz’s campaign manager, Kerry Greely, told the Rochester Post Bulletin that Walz wasn’t drunk. She explained that ear damage from his time with an artillery unit in the Minnesota National Guard had affected his balance and impaired his hearing, making it difficult for him to follow the trooper’s commands.

“The DUI charge was dropped for a reason: it wasn’t true,” Walz’s then-campaign communications director told local news in 2006. “The trooper had him drive to the station and then leave on his own after being at the station. Tim feels bad about speeding and has paid the ticket and apologized to his family at the time it happened.”

Contrary to these statements, the actual police report from the incident revealed that Walz was not allowed to drive himself anywhere following his arrest. Instead, he was transported by police to a local hospital for blood alcohol testing. Further confirmation from Nebraska state police this week showed the discrepancy.

“Under NSP procedure, a person suspected of impaired driving is not allowed to continue driving,” said Cody Thomas, a spokesman for the Nebraska State Patrol, to CNN. “In this case, the suspect was transported by the trooper and was lodged in Dawes County Jail.”

Over the years as Walz ventured into politics, his account of the event shifted. His 2006 congressional campaign contended that he was not drunk, with claims that he had hearing difficulties due to his military service which affected his ability to follow the trooper’s instructions during the sobriety test. His campaign also argued that the DUI charges were dismissed because the judge recognized these mitigating factors. By 2018, when running for governor, Walz described the arrest as a pivotal moment that led him to quit drinking, with Diet Mountain Dew becoming his new beverage of choice.

The pattern of distorting the past is not isolated to his DUI case. Walz’s career in the military and his frequent misrepresentations about his rank further highlight a troubling trend of inaccuracies. As Walz steps onto the national stage, this could pose significant challenges to his credibility and the broader Democratic campaign.

Legendary Game Show Host Dies At 98

Peter Marshall, the iconic host of “The Hollywood Squares” known for his quick wit and memorable interactions with stars has passed away. Marshall, who led the celebrated game show to the peak of television popularity, died at his home in Encino, California. He was 98.

His wife, Laurie Marshall, confirmed that kidney failure was the cause of his death after 35 years of marriage. Marshall was a beloved figure in American television history. Born Pierre LaCock in Huntington, West Virginia, in 1926, Marshall began his career in entertainment as a big band singer before transitioning to television. His charm and quick wit made him a natural fit for “The Hollywood Squares,” a game show that combined celebrity appearances with tic-tac-toe.

Marshall’s hosting style was unique. He had a knack for coaxing humorous and often cheeky responses from the show’s celebrity guests, which included stars such as Burt Reynolds, Mel Brooks, and Joan Rivers. His rapport with these celebrities brought a dynamic energy to the show, making it one of the most popular and enduring game shows on television. Marshall’s ability to interact with celebrities and contestants alike with ease and humor was a key factor in the show’s success, keeping it lively and engaging.

Marshall described his experience in show business as remarkably straightforward during a 2010 Archive of American Television interview. “It was the easiest thing I’ve ever done in show business,” he recounted. “I walked in, said ‘Hello, stars,’ I read questions and laughed. And it paid very well.”

The program was lauded for its entertaining blend of comedy and game show elements, making it a staple in American households. Marshall’s role in this success was pivotal; he not only hosted the show but also contributed to its spirit and humor.

In a 2013 interview with his hometown newspaper, the Herald-Dispatch of Huntington, West Virginia, Marshall revealed his primary passion. “I am a singer first, I am not a game show host,” he declared, detailing an unexpected turn in his career. “That was just a freak opportunity. I had been on Broadway with Julie Harris and was going back to Broadway when I did the audition, and I thought it was a few weeks, but that turned into 16 years.”

After his tenure on “The Hollywood Squares,” Marshall continued to work in television and radio, demonstrating his versatility across various genres of entertainment. He remained a beloved figure for fans of classic TV game shows, remembered not only for his television persona but also for his contributions to the entertainment industry.

, Peter Marshall, the iconic host of “The Hollywood Squares” known for his quick wit and memorable interactions with stars has passed away. And it paid very well.” WATCH: Peter Marshall lived in your television set every day for 16 years. He was a prolific theater actor and comedian prior to Hollywood Squares. I had been on Broadway with Julie Harris and was going back to Broadway when I did the audition, and I thought it was a few weeks, but that turned into 16 years.” After his tenure on “The Hollywood Squares,” Marshall continued to work in television and radio, demonstrating his versatility across various genres of entertainment. Family-Owned News Outlet Plans To SUE Kamala Harris, Google: ‘We Feel Insulted’

The New Atlantis

A family-owned news outlet in North Dakota is considering legal action against the Harris campaign and Google over deceptive tactics it claims are abusing news coverage to paint the vice president in a more favorable light.

According to the Daily Caller, WDAY Radio, a news station in Fargo, noticed that a recent headline about Vice President Kamala Harris was edited on Goole Search to make it appear as though the writers were endorsing Harris and parts of her campaign plans. Others quickly noted that similar edits had taken place in the stories of national outlets whose reports appeared in Google search results about Harris, Axios reported. Specifically, it is the campaign’s practice of paying for sponsored ad results that appear at the top of the search engine’s page – with false headlines such as “Harris Will Lower Health Care Costs” by NPR and “Inflation is Down” by Reuters. In the case of WDAY Radio, the owners are incensed that their coverage was rearranged to declare “Harris Picks Tim Walz – 215,000 MN Families Win.”

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

“We feel insulted and violated by what was done here,” Steve Hallstrom, the President and Managing Partner of Flag Family Media, which owns WDAY Radio, told the Daily Caller. “You have a political campaign that used our news brand and our URL to effectively lie to people about the headline we wrote,” Hallstrom said. “They lied to every single person that saw that ad. It’s misleading, it’s dishonest, and it hurts us as the company, our news brand. So as of today, we’re starting to make some calls here. We are considering all of our options here, including legal action.”

Hallstrom shared with the outlet two separate headlines that he believes the Harris campaign melded together, giving his station’s coverage a biased slant that isn’t there. “Walz selected as Kamala Harris’ VP pick for 2024 Election” and “Minnesota Child Tax Credit benefits 215,000 Minnesota families” were two separate pieces on WDAY’s website before team Harris combined them into one.

“We never wrote anything close to what is alleged here,” Hallstrom said. “They took two different unrelated stories that we did have on our website, sort of mashed them together, and then from there, they rewrote a few words to make it look like our news organization was cheering on the selection of Walz.”

A spokesperson for Google told the Caller that the ad conflations don’t violate its advertising policies and that a “glitch” leaving some of the ads without a necessary paid-for disclosure would be corrected. “I’ve heard the excuses about how this meets the approval of the Google Ad criteria people, and I don’t care,” Hallstrom said. “When you see that ad, you may understand that it’s an ad, that any reasonable human being would look at that and say, ‘Oh, the campaign, they found a story or headline on a website that’s good for them. Who would not use that? Who wouldn’t use that?’ But that’s not what happened here,” he continued.

Other outlets agreed with Hallstrom and denounced the Harris campaign’s maneuver. “AP was neither aware of this practice nor would we allow these to run on our website,” an AP spokesperson replied when asked. Another for Reuters promised its own investigation. “We were unaware Reuters was being featured in these advertisements. We are looking into the matter. It is entirely wrong for anyone to put fake headlines under ‘The Independent’ brand. We object fiercely and believe it is undermining of what politics and journalism should be about. It is misleading to muddle fake headlines with any campaign trying to persuade people to vote in an election and must be widely condemned. We will be seeking their removal.”

Hallstrom questioned by the Harris campaign, if it is doing so well recently, felt the need to be deceptive in promoting news coverage that wasn’t even very critical to begin with. “There are things that are right and there are things that are wrong, and this clearly is wrong. This is clearly leading, it’s clearly deceptive, it’s dishonest, and it was done obviously recklessly without thinking about what’s really happening here. And I don’t know who on the Harris staff made the decision that this was a good strategy. But I can’t believe that on the whole that that organization, that campaign would, top to bottom, feel like this is a tactful and a principled approach to getting the word out about their candidate,” he said.

Reporters continue to harangue the vice president and Democratic nominee over ducking sit-down interviews and unscripted press conferences. Earlier this week, a spokesman for Harris promised she would sit for a single interview by the end of the month. The election is 81 days away.

Trump conducts no-holds-barred press conference while Harris continues dodging media

Former President Trump held yet another hours-long press conference Thursday — his second this month — in an effort to draw a stark contrast between his candidacy, policies and campaign versus his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, who has been dodging the media since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee.

Trump held a press conference Thursday at his Bedminster, New Jersey property. The former president and Republican presidential nominee stood at the podium with groceries on display, and delivered remarks focused on the rising costs under the Biden-Harris administration.

“Harris has just declared that tackling inflation will be a ‘Day One priority’ for her,” Trump said Thursday. “But Day One for Kamala was three and a half years ago.”

TRUMP ARGUES HARRIS IS MORE LIBERAL THAN BERNIE SANDERS — HERE’S WHAT THE VERMONT SENATOR TOLD FOX NEWS

“Where has she been and why hasn’t she done it? Why hasn’t she done it?”

Harris has been the Democratic presumptive presidential nominee for 25 days and has not held a press conference or a sit-down interview with the media.

Trump said Harris’ campaign is “hiding” her, in a similar way he said the Biden campaign was “hiding” him.

“They’re hiding her no different than him, because I believe she’s grossly incompetent,” Trump said. “And I don’t think that when people hear what she has to say, they’re going to buy it.”

Sources in Trump’s political orbit tell Fox News that top advisers to the former president are quietly aiming to persuade him to tamp down the insults to Harris and the questioning of the vice president’s racial identity and instead focus on branding her an ultra-liberal and spotlighting her stance on the border, crime and inflation.

But Trump, during the press conference Thursday, was asked about the “personal attacks” against Harris.

“Because of what she’s done to the country, I’m very angry at her – that she had weaponized the justice system against me and other people. Very angry at her,” Trump said. “I think I’m entitled to personal attacks.”

Trump added: “I don’t have a lot of respect for her. I don’t have a lot of respect for her intelligence. And I think she’d be a terrible president.”

“I think it’s very important that we win,” he continued. “And whether the personal attacks are good or bad, I mean, she certainly attacks me personally.”

Trump said Harris “actually called me weird… And she called JD and I weird. He’s not weird. He was a great student at Yale. He went to Ohio State, graduated in two years at the top of his class, and all of these different things.”

Trump pointed to Harris’ running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, saying he is “a weird guy” and Harris is “weird in her policy.”

“Who wouldn’t want to have strong borders?” Trump said. “Who doesn’t want to have lower taxes?”

TRUMP CAMPAIGN PLANS COUNTER-PROGRAMMING DURING DEMOCRATS’ CONVENTION

“You know, all my life I’ve watched as politicians campaigned and I’ve always been on, you know, for the most part on the other side, on the side that these people are on and they always talked about, we’re going to reduce taxes — this is the only campaign I’ve ever heard where they’re saying, we’re going to increase your taxes,” Trump continued.

Trump stressed that the voters “don’t know who she is.”

“She is a radical left socialist,” Trump said. “But beyond that, I mean, she’s way beyond socialism, who’s going to destroy our country and when they find out, I think you’re going to see something.”

Trump defended his attacks against Harris.

“I just want to win for the country. Some people say, oh, why don’t you be nice? But they’re not nice to me,” he said.
They want to put me in prison. You know, just so you understand. You know, they tell me I should be nice. They want to put me in prison. It’s never happened before in the history of our country. I did nothing wrong.”

Trump was referring to his legal challenges–many cases have been thrown out or delayed.

As for his campaign, Trump said he wished he didn’t have to run.

“If our country were run by Democrats and it was run beautifully, where we were really being productive and everything else, I would have never done this,” Trump said. “I wouldn’t have done it if I thought I couldn’t have won. I think I can win, I think I can win easily once they’re exposed for what they are, which is, you know, radical left lunatics. And that’s what they are.”

Trump said Harris is “going to ruin our country.”

“And I just hope the people of our country, and I believe they are, because I see it already happening,” Trump said. “But I hope they are able to think for themselves, because if they think for themselves, if they look at the destruction that’s going to be caused by Kamala and this, this person from out of nowhere, he came out of nowhere, a state that I love that state, but a state that’s doing so poorly where he’s the one that signed to put tampons in boys bathrooms…signed a bill that boys bathrooms, all boys bathrooms in Minnesota will have tampons and what’s going on?”

“What’s wrong with us? What’s wrong with us as a country?” Trump said. “So no, if we had somebody doing a phenomenal job, I would be extremely happy.”

Trump said that even while he campaigns and hopes to win in November, what he wants is the country to do “really well” in the final months of Biden’s term, even though he said it “would make it probably a little bit harder to win.”

“I hope the country does really well. It’s country first. I want our country to do great,” Trump said. “If they were great leaders, I would be the first to say they’re doing a fantastic job.”

Meanwhile, Trump was asked why he felt God saved his life on July 13 after the assassination attempt at his Butler, Pa. rally.

“That was a miracle,” Trump said. “God has something to do with it. It’s a miracle and God has something to do with it.”

“Maybe it’s–we want to save the world,” he continued. “This world is going down.”

Hours before Thursday’s news conference, the Harris campaign put out a mock email advisory titled “Donald Trump to Ramble Incoherently and Spread Dangerous Lies in Public, but at Different Home.”

And Harris campaign spokesperson James Singer told Fox News that “Vice President Harris and Governor Walz are talking to voters, laying out a vision of the middle class, and letting Americans know they will fight for their freedoms.”

He argued that “Donald Trump can talk to whoever he wants, but he can’t explain away his toxic Project 2025 agenda, speak in coherent thoughts, or offer anything but insults and higher prices to the middle class.”

The former president and Republican presidential nominee stood at the podium with groceries on display, and delivered remarks focused on the rising costs under the Biden-Harris administration.  “Harris has just declared that tackling inflation will be a ‘Day One priority’ for her,” Trump said Thursday. “But Day One for Kamala was three and a half years ago.”  TRUMP ARGUES HARRIS IS MORE LIBERAL THAN BERNIE SANDERS — HERE’S WHAT THE VERMONT SENATOR TOLD FOX NEWS  “Where has she been and why hasn’t she done it? Why hasn’t she done it?”  Harris has been the Democratic presumptive presidential nominee for 25 days and has not held a press conference or a sit-down interview with the media.  Trump said Harris’ campaign is “hiding” her, in a similar way he said the Biden campaign was “hiding” him.  “They’re hiding her no different than him, because I believe she’s grossly incompetent,” Trump said. “And I don’t think that when people hear what she has to say, they’re going to buy it.”  Sources in Trump’s political orbit tell Fox News that top advisers to the former president are quietly aiming to persuade him to tamp down the insults to Harris and the questioning of the vice president’s racial identity and instead focus on branding her an ultra-liberal and spotlighting her stance on the border, crime and inflation.  But Trump, during the press conference Thursday, was asked about the “personal attacks” against Harris.  “Because of what she’s done to the country, I’m very angry at her – that she had weaponized the justice system against me and other people. Very angry at her,” Trump said. “I think I’m entitled to personal attacks.”  Trump added: “I don’t have a lot of respect for her. I don’t have a lot of respect for her intelligence. And I think she’d be a terrible president.”  “I think it’s very important that we win,” he continued. “And whether the personal attacks are good or bad, I mean, she certainly attacks me personally.”  Trump said Harris “actually called me weird… And she called JD and I weird. He’s not weird. He was a great student at Yale. He went to Ohio State, graduated in two years at the top of his class, and all of these different things.” Trump pointed to Harris’ running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, saying he is “a weird guy” and Harris is “weird in her policy.”  “Who wouldn’t want to have strong borders?” Trump said. “Who doesn’t want to have lower taxes?”  TRUMP CAMPAIGN PLANS COUNTER-PROGRAMMING DURING DEMOCRATS’ CONVENTION “You know, all my life I’ve watched as politicians campaigned and I’ve always been on, you know, for the most part on the other side, on the side that these people are on and they always talked about, we’re going to reduce taxes — this is the only campaign I’ve ever heard where they’re saying, we’re going to increase your taxes,” Trump continued. Trump stressed that the voters “don’t know who she is.”  “She is a radical left socialist,” Trump said. “But beyond that, I mean, she’s way beyond socialism, who’s going to destroy our country and when they find out, I think you’re going to see something.” Trump defended his attacks against Harris.  “I just want to win for the country. Some people say, oh, why don’t you be nice? But they’re not nice to me,” he said. They want to put me in prison. You know, just so you understand. You know, they tell me I should be nice. They want to put me in prison. It’s never happened before in the history of our country. I did nothing wrong.”  Trump was referring to his legal challenges–many cases have been thrown out or delayed. And that’s what they are.”  Trump said Harris is “going to ruin our country.”  “And I just hope the people of our country, and I believe they are, because I see it already happening,” Trump said. “But I hope they are able to think for themselves, because if they think for themselves, if they look at the destruction that’s going to be caused by Kamala and this, this person from out of nowhere, he came out of nowhere, a state that I love that state, but a state that’s doing so poorly where he’s the one that signed to put tampons in boys bathrooms…signed a bill that boys bathrooms, all boys bathrooms in Minnesota will have tampons and what’s going on?”  “What’s wrong with us? What’s wrong with us as a country?” Trump said. “So no, if we had somebody doing a phenomenal job, I would be extremely happy.”  Trump said that even while he campaigns and hopes to win in November, what he wants is the country to do “really well” in the final months of Biden’s term, even though he said it “would make it probably a little bit harder to win.”  “I hope the country does really well. It’s country first. I want our country to do great,” Trump said. “If they were great leaders, I would be the first to say they’re doing a fantastic job.” Meanwhile, Trump was asked why he felt God saved his life on July 13 after the assassination attempt at his Butler, Pa. rally.  “That was a miracle,” Trump said. “God has something to do with it. It’s a miracle and God has something to do with it.”  “Maybe it’s–we want to save the world,” he continued. “This world is going down.”  Hours before Thursday’s news conference, the Harris campaign put out a mock email advisory titled “Donald Trump to Ramble Incoherently and Spread Dangerous Lies in Public, but at Different Home.” And Harris campaign spokesperson James Singer told Fox News that “Vice President Harris and Governor Walz are talking to voters, laying out a vision of the middle class, and letting Americans know they will fight for their freedoms.” He argued that “Donald Trump can talk to whoever he wants, but he can’t explain away his toxic Project 2025 agenda, speak in coherent thoughts, or offer anything but insults and higher prices to the middle class.” , , Trump conducts no-holds-barred press conference while Harris continues dodging media, https://moxie.foxnews.com/static/assets/default/thumbnail/foxnews.png, Latest Political News on Fox News, Read all about the political news happening with Fox News.
