NEW: MTG On Shortlist To Become The View Host As Second Visit Looms

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s next act after leaving Congress may take place under studio lights instead of the House floor.

The Georgia Republican, who announced last month that she will resign from the U.S. House of Representatives, is reportedly being discussed internally as a potential future host on ABC’s daytime talk show The View, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation.

Greene revealed on November 21 that she would step down from Congress effective January 5, 2026, closing the chapter on her polarizing but headline-dominating tenure in Washington. Just weeks earlier, on November 4, Greene made her first-ever appearance as a guest on The View, a visit that reportedly caught producers by surprise in more ways than one.

A producer for The View told the Daily Mail that Greene is now being considered as a possible long-term addition to the show, though no immediate plans are in place.

“Never say never,” the producer said when asked whether Greene, 51, could one day join the panel.

According to the same insider, Greene’s off-camera demeanor played a significant role in shifting internal attitudes.

“She was actually really lovely behind the scenes – no one expected that,” the source said.

The producer also pointed to measurable audience impact during Greene’s appearance.

“And I know that we had a lot more social media engagement that day. Before she was on, I’d have been like ‘absolutely not’, but now I could see the vision if they decided to go that route,” the insider continued.

While stressing that nothing is imminent, the producer acknowledged Greene is being taken seriously as a potential option.

“I don’t think it’s in the immediate plans or anything, but she is definitely someone who would be on a shortlist.”

Not everyone close to the show is convinced the timing is right. Another source told the Daily Mail that Greene joining the panel soon is unlikely, noting simply that “the table is full.”

Still, outside media analysts believe Greene could bring something the long-running show has lacked.

Media and PR specialist Vanessa Santos, who runs the politically focused publicity firm Renegade DC, said Greene’s presence would fundamentally change the program’s dynamic.

“Even if she’s distancing herself from Trump right now, she still represents traditional Republican values – and she’d bring a level of courage and clarity that show desperately needs,” Santos said.

Santos also dismissed concerns about audience backlash, arguing the show thrives on conflict and contrast.

“The View would be lucky to have her,” she added.

Meanwhile, longtime co-host Joy Behar moved quickly to tamp down speculation that Greene could be replacing Whoopi Goldberg.

“Don’t worry, she’s not being replaced by Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Behar said during Monday’s episode, responding to online chatter about Goldberg’s future on the show.

Greene has not publicly commented on the rumors, but her post-Congress plans remain the subject of intense speculation as she prepares to exit Washington. Whether or not Greene ultimately lands a permanent seat at The View, her brief appearance has already succeeded in one key metric that daytime television values most: attention.
