A Democrat congressman has sparked outrage after he was caught watching pornographic content on a public flight filled with small children on Friday.
A viral batch of photo shows U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) staring at the racy content on an iPad while aboard a passenger flight. A stunned onlooker caught the congressman, 71, looking at several sexually explicit images as he scrolled his tablet.
“Why did California Congressman Brad Sherman feel it was appropriate to look at porn on his iPad during a flight today?” the user who shared the viral images posted on X. “His district deserves better representation than this!!”
In the post that has now been seen by millions, a wide-mouthed Sherman was seen casually scrolling through pictures of topless women and other explicit images on a wide tablet. White House communications director Steven Cheung re-posted a snap of Sherman’s open mouth and said: “Bruh. What a total gooner.”

The congressman, who represents California’s 32nd Congressional District, has claimed that he was not looking at sexually explicit content, instead blaming the photos on pop-up ads that showed up unexpectedly on X.
“If I see a picture of a woman, might I look at it longer than a sunset? Yeah,” he told Punchbowl News. He further claimed that he was browsing the social media platform’s “For You” page — which typically contains content filtered by user preferences — during the viral moment.
He added that he “must’ve looked at more than 1000 posts” and that these photographs popped on his feed all “because of the algorithms.” Sherman further told the publication: “Is it pornography? I don’t think Elon Musk thinks so.”
Despite the denials, the congressman did concede that it was inappropriate to stare at such content while on a public flight. He then attempted to pivot by calling on the Trump Administration to “release the Epstein Files” after Democrats released a new tranche of emails, and doctored long released ones, in an effort to tie the president with the notorious sex traffickers crimes.
The attempt fell flat, however, as the emails largely showed prominent Democrats reaching out to the deceased pedophile in an effort to dig up dirt on Trump in 2017. They further showed that Epstein vehemently hated Trump despite weeks of senior Democrats claiming the two were close friends.
In one egregious example, Democrats redacted the name of a prominent Epstein victim, the late Virginia Giuffre, who testified under oath that Trump had no involvement in Epstein’s crimes. Giuffre was also a supporter of President Trump’s campaign in 2024 and praised his efforts to bring Epstein to justice.
