JUST IN: Bodycam Footage Released From Man Shot Outside The RNC

The New Atlantis

New police bodycam footage of a fatal officer-involved shooting just outside the Republican National Convention perimeter in Milwaukee has been released.

Footage shows a group of police officers discussing how to handle clashing groups of protesters throughout the week when one of them notices that two men were fighting in the middle of the street. “He’s got a knife,” one of the officers can be heard saying, at which point several officers converged on the fight.

Multiple officers yelled “drop the knife” while at least one identified themselves as officers. One of the men– who has been identified as Samuel Sharpe — was holding a knife in each of his hands. When he charged at the other man, police opened fire.

(BREAKING: Famed Economist Predicts ‘1987 Style’ Stock Market Crash)

Sharpe’s family stated that he chose to live in a tent community, though he still kept in touch with them. In recent days, the 43-year-old had told his family that a man had been threatening him. He had left the tent community, though he had returned to get his dog.

Sharpe’s brother told FOX 6 that the deceased had multiple sclerosis and struggled to stand. He does not believe that his brother was the aggressor in Tuesday’s fatal encounter.

“I believe my brother was defending himself. If anything he was defending himself,” he said. “If you’ve ever seen someone with advanced MS, it’s very laborious to walk, anything like that. It’s like putting a child against an adult. A toddler that barely knows how to walk. He ain’t going to get away. The man that was in that video knew all of that information as well.”

The officers involved in the shooting were in from Columbus, Ohio in order to assist with convention security.

Sharpe’s death prompted protests in Milwaukee, Police Chief Jeffrey Norman told Fox 6.

Prayers Pour In For Dallas Pastor Jeffress After Massive Fire Breaks Out At His Dallas Church

The New Atlantis

Firefighters battled a massive fire at the historic First Baptist Dallas Church in downtown Dallas, Texas, which has stood since 1890, on Friday evening.

Fire crews arrived on the scene shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday. What was initially a response to a two-alarm fire ended up being four-alarms as the blaze spiraled out of control, causing the roof to partially collapse. The blaze has been contained as of Saturday morning.

Senior Pastor Robert Jeffress says he is grateful no congregants were injured. “We have experienced a fire in the Historic Sanctuary. To our knowledge, no one is hurt or injured, and we thank God for His protection. He is sovereign even in the most difficult times,” the pastor wrote in an X post shortly after the blaze was reported. He concluded his post by quoting Romans 8:28, which reads “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Jeffress was a prominent religious advisor to former President Donald Trump and made many trips to the White House during his first term.

First Baptist Dallas reportedly has a membership of more than 16,000 as of this report. The congregation currently worships in a state-of-the-art facility located adjacent to the historic church, which opened in 2013.

I just left the church and a little bit after 6 p.m. we got word that the church was on fire, our historic sanctuary. This sanctuary has been around since 1890. It was the home for our church for a long time until we moved to our new worship center about 12 years ago,” Jeffress told Fox 4.

This historic sanctuary was the site of many personal events, including my own. I was baptized there when I was six. I was ordained for the ministry when I was 21. It holds a lot of memories. But we thank God that nobody has been hurt.”

The pastor further revealed that vacation bible school had just wrapped up at the church, a program that hosts over 2,000 children. “They were all gone. So God has protected us through all of this,” Jeffress said.

He went on to thank God that nobody was injured in the blaze. “I’m grateful that the church is not bricks and mortar or wood, it’s people. And the people of God will endure. First, that is Dallas will endure. And we thank so many of our friends around the country who are praying for us right now.”

A cause of the blaze has not been revealed as of this report.

The New Atlantis

Backstage footage has emerged of the moment before former President Donald Trump took the stage at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night.

Trump arrived in the arena shortly after 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday and proceeded to listen to a number of speeches, including a very popular speech from wrestling legend Hulk Hogan. Trump appeared to love Hogan’s speech, which was done in his signature raspy, intense voice and included a number of his signature lines.

The former president could be seen beaming ear-to-ear when Hogan ripped off both his jacket and shirt to reveal a Trump-Vance 2024 undershirt.

Ahead of Trump’s historic entrance, New York Times photographer Doug Mills snapped a photo of the former president and former First Lady Melania Trump. Another reporter captured Trump standing behind the stage prior to his entrance, which was made after the stage design lifted to reveal the former president standing in front of the word “TRUMP” in bright lights.

As Trump took the stage, he drew attention to the fire gear of slain fire chief Corey Comperatore, who was killed in the assassination attempt in western Pennsylvania this past Saturday.

Trump proceeded to deliver a touching tribute to Comperatore during his speech, describing him as a hero. At one point, he left the podium before walking over to the slain firefighter’s gear before proceeding to kiss it. The former president also led the convention crowd in a moment of silence for Comperatore.

“Let me begin this evening by expressing my gratitude to the American people for your outpouring of love and support following the assassination attempt at my rally on Saturday,” Trump said. “As you already know, the assassin’s bullet came within a quarter of an inch of taking my life. So many people have asked me, ‘what happened? Tell us what happened, please.’ And therefore, I will tell you exactly what happened, and you’ll never hear it from me a second time because it’s actually too painful to tell.”

In order to see the chart, I started to, like this, turn to my right, and was ready to begin a little bit further turn, which I’m very lucky I didn’t do, when I heard a loud whizzing sound and felt something hit me really, really hard on my right ear,” Trump continued, recalling the attempt on his life.

A humbled former President Trump ultimately concluded that he is alive “through the grace of almighty God.”

Former President Donald Trump provided an emotional breakdown of the attempt on his life during his featured address at the Republican National Convention on Thursday.

“Let me begin this evening by expressing my gratitude to the American people for your outpouring of love and support following the assassination attempt at my rally on Saturday,” Trump said. “As you already know, the assassin’s bullet came within a quarter of an inch of taking my life. Trump then proceeded to describe the harrowing events while flanked by a number of instantly iconic photos.

It was a warm, beautiful day in the early evening in Butler Township in the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Music was loudly playing and the campaign was doing really well. I went to the stage and the crowd was cheering wildly. Everybody was happy. I I began speaking very strongly, powerfully, and happily, because I was discussing the great job my administration did on immigration at the southern border,” the former president explained.

Several angles of the shooting have revealed that the former president turned his head at exactly the right moment in order to avoid the assassin’s bullet.

I said to myself, ‘wow, what was that? It can only be a bullet.’ And moved my right hand to my ear, brought it down. My hand was covered with blood, just absolutely blood all over the place. I immediately knew it was very serious, that we were under attack. And in one movement, proceeded to drop to the ground,” Trump recounted.

“Bullets were continuing to fly as very brave Secret Service agents rushed to the stage, and they really did. and they really did. They rushed to the stage,” he continued, prompting the crowd to rise in honor of the agents who evacuated the former president.

Trump went on to state his belief that he was only saved through divine intervention.

I’m not supposed to be here tonight. Not supposed to be here,” Trump said. The crowd then replied with shouts of “no” and erupted into chants of “yes you are!”

“Thank you. But I’m not,” the former president replied.

“And I’ll tell you, I stand before you in this arena only by the grace of Almighty God… In watching the reports over the last few days, many people say it was a providential In watching the reports over the last few days, many people say it was a providential moment.”

Former President Donald Trump made an emotional entrance to the Republican National Convention on Thursday.

After a speech from UFC President Dana White and a performance from Kid Rock, the event once again took on a more somber tone as Trump was introduced by Lee Greenwood and a live rendition of his signature entrance song, “God Bless The USA.”

As Greenwood started performing, the stage design lifted up to reveal the former president already standing on stage. Sporting a white bandage on his ear, the former president paced the stage for a number of minutes before taking the podium in front of a White House backdrop.

Also on stage was the fire gear of retired firefighter Corey Comperatore, a father of two who was killed when a gunman opened fire at the rally. Comperatore died while shielding his family from gunfire.

Thursday night’s featured RNC address marked the first time former President Trump has delivered a public speech since he was nearly killed in an assassination attempt during a rally in western Pennsylvania on July 13. The former president narrowly avoided being killed when he turned his head at the last second to take a look at a chart, causing the bullet to graze his ear.

He was released from the hospital just hours later and opted to continue with the Republican National Convention without delay.

On Monday, the former president made an emotional entrance to the convention in what was his first public appearance since the attempt on his life. Trump took on a more somber look as opposed to his generally energetic self as he entered the arena to cheers and chants of “we love Trump” and “fight, fight, fight” from the crowd.

He then made an emotional walk to his seats to a live rendition of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless The USA,” frequently pausing to pump his fist and acknowledge the crowd.

Trump made his appearance on Thursday not long after former First Lady Melania Trump received a standing ovation from the crowd during her own entrance.

“I am thinking of you, now, my fellow Americans,” the former first lady wrote in a press release after her husband was shot.

“We have always been a unique union. America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered, but our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one. When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change,” the statement continued. “I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband. To the families of the innocent victims who are now suffering from this heinous act, I humbly offer my sincerest sympathy. Your need to summon your inner strength for such a terrible reason saddens me.”

This is a developing story.

‘Crowd Erupts As Hulk Hogan ‘Hulks Up’ On Stage During Epic RNC Speech

The New Atlantis

Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan received a hero’s welcome at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night.

After taking the stage following a montage complete with his signature intro song, “Real American,” the crowd erupted into loud cheers and chants of “USA!”

Hogan then channeled his signature wrestling voice and dished out his iconic quote, beginning his speech with, “LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, BROTHER!”

Well, let me tell you something, when I came here tonight, there was so much energy in this room, I felt maybe I was in Madison Square Garden getting ready to win another world title. Or maybe I thought the vibe was so intense, the energy was so crazy, it felt like maybe I was going to press that no-good, stinky giant over my head and slam him through the mat, brother,” Hogan told the crowd.

But what I found out was I was in a room full of real Americans, brother. And at the end of the day, with our leader up there, my hero, that gladiator, we’re going to bring America back together, one real American at a time, to bring America back together, one real American at a time,” the wrestling icon continued while pointing to former President Trump.

He went on to reference the assassination attempt on the former president. “But what happened last week, when they took a shot at my hero and they tried to kill the next president of the United States, enough was enough, and I said let Trumpomania, make America great again!”

The wrestling icon then proceeded to rip off both his jacket and shirt to reveal a red “Trump-Vance 2024” undershirt.

In an interview with Fox News earlier in the day, Hogan explained why he decided to speak at the convention. “I got tired of remaining silent. You know, I just sat back and watch the borders collapse. I watch the economy collapse you know, I watch the price of gas the price of food everything just do a upside down flip,” Hogan told host Bret Baier. “And when they took a shot at my hero Donald Trump, I realized that I couldn’t be silent anymore.”

“It rattled me to my core when this happened. And when I saw him stand up, with the blood on his face as a warrior, as a leader, I realized that’s what America needs.”

The New Atlantis

Top-rated conservative journalist Tucker Carlson received a standing ovation when he speak on the final night of the 2024 Republican National Convention on Thursday.

Carlson began with a shoutout to former Trump advisor Peter Navarro, who addressed the convention on Wednesday after he was released from a four-month stint in federal prison for refusing to comply with the January 6 Committee, which defied congressional rules by refusing to allow House Republicans to appoint representatives.

He then provided a somber but hopeful take on the assassination attempt on former President Trump, which left retired firefighter Corey Comperatore, a father of two, dead after he was hit while shielding his family from gunfire. Two additional innocent rally goers were critically injured in the attack.

(YOURS FREE: Trump 2024 “Still Standing” Flag With Iconic New Imagery)

So I watched I watched a video of what happened in Butler Pennsylvania about 1550 times. I think I was one of about 8 billion people around the world who watched it. And the more I watched it the more it that everything was different. After that moment everything, this convention is different,” Carlson said. “The nation is different, the world is different, Donald Trump is different.”

When he stood up after being shot in the face, bloodied, and put his hand up. I thought at that moment that was a transformation this was no longer a man. Well, I think that I think it was divine intervention but the effect that it had on Donald Trump, he was no longer just a political party’s nominee, or a former president, or a future president. This was the leader of a nation. And I think there’s a difference.”

After a jab at President Biden’s highly questionable election, Carlson went on to describe former President Trump as the most caring politician he has met after a lifetime of covering Washington D.C.

His courage gave them heart. A leader’s courage gives courage to his people period. And the second thing I noticed which I don’t think anyone has remarked upon in public but I’m just going to since I’m on the script like why not. Is that he turned down the most obvious opportunity in politics to inflame the nation after being shot,” Carlson told the crowd.

To inflame the nation, which is an opportunity that almost every other politician I’ve ever met and certainly his opponents would have taken instantly. And they would have said, well, what is this? How did he get shot? Like, how did this happen? And those are real questions that we have to get to the bottom of. But in the moments, the days, the week after the shooting, he did not say that. He did his best to bring the country together.”

In reference to the mainstream media and Democrat Party’s coverage of the former president, Carlson remarked, “this is the divisive figure, this is the irresponsible person?”

No. This is the most responsible unifying behavior of a leader I think I’ve ever seen.”

Carlson concluded his remarks by stating that “God is among us right now.

Trump attorney Alina Habba shared a touching story about the former president taking an opportunity to speak with a supporter during the height of New York Attorney General Letitia James’ dubious “civil fraud” case in Manhattan.

“Not too long ago, a supporter shouted, ‘God bless you and President Trump,’ in the middle of Manhattan after one of our trials. Little did that man know that I was on the phone with the president himself,” Habba explained. “And he immediately asked me to pause, give the man my phone and spent time speaking to him and thanking him for his support.”

“President Trump loves this country. He does. And he lifts up those around him. To my children, Luke, Chloe, and Parker. He’s the man with one heck of a golf swing that lets them ride in a golf cart with some of the world’s most famous golfers so they feel included in mom’s job,” Habba said elsewhere in her speech. “And by the way, he can kick some of those guys’ butts.”

Despite the lawfare and the politics, President Trump loves the American people and he loves this For decades, the Trump Organization transformed skylines and created thousands of jobs. His buildings and businesses are a testament to his commitment to excellence and his drive to turn dreams into reality. But his greatest construction project was yet to come,” Habba went on to say. “The left has tried to demolish President Trump, but there is no bulldozer big enough or strong enough to remove the legacy that he has built or the future he is creating. As the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump built a legacy of putting America first. And as the 47th president, he will build America stronger than ever for we, the people.”

JUST IN: Biden Campaign Responds To Reports That He’s Dropping Out

The New Atlantis

The White House has responded to reports that President Biden will be stepping aside this weekend, which have been made by a number of different sources.

On Thursday, independent reporter Mark Halperin told Newsmax that Biden will be stepping aside and will refuse to endorse Vice President Harris. ““This is happening all of a sudden. Everyone said it would happen gradually and then all at once, and that’s what’s happening. According to my sources, President Biden has agreed to step down as a Democratic nominee. It will happen as early as this weekend. A speech has been drafted for him. He will continue on as president, is his intention,” Halperin reported.

The report comes less than 24 hours after the Biden Campaign abruptly cancelled an event in Nevada, citing a COVID-19 diagnosis. In the aftermath of the diagnosis, CNN reported that Biden is “increasingly receptive” to the idea of stepping aside and has been asking questions about the viability of Vice President Harris in a general election.

(FREE RED HAT: “Impeached. Arrested. Convicted. Shot. Still Standing”)

“Several top Democrats privately tell us the rising pressure of party congressional leaders and close friends will persuade President Biden to decide to drop out of the presidential race, as soon as this weekend,” Axios reported on Thursday. “Behind the scenes: The private message, distilled to its bluntest form: The top leaders of his party, his friends and key donors believe he can’t win, can’t change public perceptions of his age and acuity, and can’t deliver congressional majorities.”

In response to the avalanche of reports, the Biden Campaign has pushed back and urged Democrats to focus on defeating Trump in November.

“Joe Biden is his party’s nominee. He’s the President of the United States. He’s running for reelection. Baseless conjecture from anonymous sources isn’t a scoop. Tonight a convicted felon will talk about how he’ll make people’s lives worse if he gains power. Let’s focus,” Biden campaign spokesman TJ Ducklo wrote in response to the Axios report.

Fox News reporter Brooke Singman also pushed back on Halperin’s report, citing White House sources. “The President is more committed than ever to winning this election,” one Biden aide told Singman, while Ducklo described the reports as “entirely inaccurate.”

Regardless of whether a decision has been made, a number of high-profile Democrats have called on President Biden to step aside.

On Thursday, the Washington Post reported that former President Barack Obama has been telling allies and prominent Democrats that he is not confident in Biden’s ability to win in November. “In some conversations, Obama, who has long looked to data for political insights, has told people he is concerned that the polls are moving away from Biden, that former president Donald Trump’s electoral path is expanding and that donors are abandoning the president,” the outlet reported.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has also told President Biden to step aside in a private conversation, according to reports. Similar conversations have reportedly been had with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

Trump Campaign Provides Hilarious Response To Question About VP Debate

The New Atlantis

The Trump Campaign issued a hilarious response to a report that Vice President Harris has already agreed to debate Trump’s new running-mate, Senator J.D. Vance.

Harris has agreed to a debate on CBS News on either July 23 or August 13, two dates that were previously agreed upon by former President Trump on behalf of his then-unselected running-mate. Trump had agreed to a debate on Fox News, however, a stipulation Biden’s team is expected to reject.

On Wednesday, the Trump campaign responded to Harris’ willingness to debate in a hilarious press release.

“We don’t know who the Democrat nominee for Vice President is going to be, so we can’t lock in a date before their convention,” reads the release, which was crafted by senior campaign advisor Brian Hughes.

“To do so would be unfair to Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer or whoever Kamala Harris selects as her running mate.”

The New Atlantis

Talk of President Biden stepping down has reached a fever pitch after the White House abruptly cancelled an event in Las Vegas on Wednesday. The White House stated that President Biden was diagnosed with COVID-19 and was forced to cancel.

The announcement came just hours after President Biden — who has publicly resisted growing calls to step aside — stated that he would consider stepping down if he were diagnosed with a serious medical condition. “If I had some medical condition that emerged,” he said. “If doctors came to me and said ‘you got this problem or that problem.’”

After the president was seen struggling to climb to steps of Air Force one — and later seen struggling to get into a car — CNN reported that Biden is now “more receptive” to stepping aside.

Citing a conversation with a “senior Democratic advisor,” CNN’s Jeff Zeleny reported that President Biden is now more receptive to these calls of concern,” from Democrat lawmakers, donors and strategists who have called on him to step down.

The reports continued on Wednesday, as one reporter claimed that Biden will be stepping aside this weekend, citing a senior White House source.

“This is happening all of a sudden. Everyone said it would happen gradually and then all at once, and that’s what’s happening. According to my sources, President Biden has agreed to step down as a Democratic nominee. It will happen as early as this weekend. A speech has been drafted for him. He will continue on as president, is his intention,” Mark Halperin reported in a segment on Newsmax.

Halperin further reported that Biden will not be endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, leading to an open convention.

Fox News correspondent Brooke Singman pushed back on the claims, citing two conversations with White House staffers. “The President is more committed than ever to winning this election,” said one source, while the other described the reports as “entirely inaccurate.”
