JUST IN: Mystery Man In A Grey Suit Blows Trump Assassination Plot Wide Open

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) is reporting that a mysterious man in a grey suit approached local police officers and asked them to send photos of would-be Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks’ body to a cellphone number. It was later determined that the number belonged to an Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) agent.

During an appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Johnson told host Maria Bartiromo that his staff immediately started reaching out to local law enforcement in the aftermath of the attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Johnson first reported that the Secret Service did not attend a 9 a.m. security meeting last Saturday in which security plans for the event were to be discussed. “[The Secret Service] pretty well put in charge the Butler County law enforcement to coordinate things. Law enforcement wasn’t even on the same channel,” Johnson said.

(FREE RED HAT: “Impeached. Arrested. Convicted. Shot. Still Standing”)

Butler town manager Tom Knights reported that a local law enforcement officer radioed in the shooter’s location after peering over the building and encountering Crooks with a rifle. He was forced to retreat when the gunman pointed his weapon at the officer. “Once the suspicious individual was identified as being in the vicinity of the AGR building, our police, who were primarily assigned to traffic duty and traffic control, did in fact, because of proximity, move towards that building to try to find and identify,” Knights told NBC News.

It appears as though the officer’s warning never made it to the Secret Service, as they were not synced up on the same radio channels. “There has, to the best of my knowledge, not been any direct communication with members of the Secret Service to our officials,” Knights said. “There are ongoing interviews with all law enforcement that were at the event, regardless of what their roles were.”

Johnson expanded upon the reports on Sunday.

“Secret Service had been there for site visits, weren’t even there. It kind of turned over some of the outer perimeter stuff to local law enforcement. They weren’t even on the same security channel. So the sniper and SWAT teams weren’t on the same channel as the patrol officers, and they weren’t on the same channel as Secret Service,” Johnson said.

Towards the end of the interview, Johnson revealed that a mysterious man approached local law enforcement after Crooks had been neutralized by a Secret Service counter sniper.

So that sniper team that was in the AGR building, they’re the first ones that went up on the roof. They were the first to encounter the dead assassin at that point in time. Later on, other people joined them, and somebody told them to send the pictures they had taken to an ATF agent, which I think is very strange,” Johnson told Bartiromo.

And we called up that ATF agent, that individual said that he was with ATF, and now he’s gone dark. We’ve also reached out to the Secret Service agents in charge on the ground. All we’re getting there is a runaround.”

Instead of sharing information, federal investigators have directed the senator and his staff to go through a congressional liaison. “I wish I could rely and have faith in the FBI and the Secret Service to do a truthful accounting of this, but that’s not been my experience with the Russian collusion hoax and for years, dealing with federal law enforcement. We need completely separate and independent investigations, and it has to start now,” Johnson said.

So this is the guy in the suit who walks up the ladder, goes to the roof and tells the locals, send those pictures to this cell phone. Who was that person?” Bartiromo followed up.

“Well, again, I’m not sure that was the guy,” Johnson answered. “I think another county law enforcement gave the number to the other county law enforcement, the snipers, to send the text. Some guy in a suit walks up the ladder. They believed he was Secret Service, I’m not sure who they gave credentials.”

He then reiterated calls for a thorough and independent investigation of the assassination attempt to begin immediately.

Democrats Float ‘Youthful’ Hillary Clinton As Replacement For President Biden

The New Atlantis

As a growing number of Democrats scramble to find a replacement for President Biden in the wake of his disastrous debate performance, some in the party believe that a former presidential nominee deserves another chance.

In an opinion piece for The Hill, Pablo O’Hana argued that Hillary Clinton is a “seasoned, savvy and adaptable candidate” who can defeat former President Donald Trump.

Clinton, 76, does have “youth” on her side, O’Hana argued. “Let’s get this out of the way first: Clinton is younger than both Biden and Trump. Given the current furor over age, this is not a trivial fact; energy and stamina are equated with capability,” he wrote.

(BREAKING: Glenn Beck reveals new Biden initiative that will bankrupt America)

“Clinton is a ready-made replacement. She possesses an unparalleled resume and an unmatched depth of experience. She has consistently redefined the roles she has served, from secretary of State and U.S. senator to first lady and Children’s Defense Fund attorney,” he continued. “Her extensive background in domestic and international affairs is not just impressive; at a time when global politics are increasingly volatile and complex, her experience is priceless.”

O’Hana is not the only Democrat who sees Clinton as a potential replacement for Biden.

Former pollster for former President Barack Obama, Fernand Amandi, published an internal survey earlier this month that named Vice President Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton as suitable replacements for Biden.

“I’m really surprised by Hillary’s strength,” Amandi said. “While some dismiss her as yesterday’s news and a candidate of the past, voters at least in this poll suggest they may be open to a Clinton comeback and that a ticket with Clinton as president and Harris as vice president is even ‘stronger together.’”

REPORT: Secret Service Denied Trump Requests For Additional Security thumbnail

REPORT: Secret Service Denied Trump Requests For Additional Security

The New Atlantis

The Washington Post is reporting that “top officials” with the Secret Service repeatedly denied requests for additional security made by former President Donald Trump’s security detail in the two years leading up to the attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

Agents attached to the former president’s security detail requested magnetometers, as well as additional Secret Service personnel in order to screen attendees at sporting events and other large gatherings, including rallies. Trump’s security detail also requested additional snipers and emergency response teams for outdoor events, according to four Secret Service sources who spoke with the Washington Post on condition of anonymity.

The requests — which had not been made public — were sometimes denied by senior officials with the Secret Service. Agency higher-ups cited a number of reasons when denying the requests, including lack resources and staff, the sources told the outlet.

(YOURS FREE: Trump 2024 “Still Standing” Flag With Iconic New Imagery)

“Those rejections — in response to requests that were several times made in writing — led to long-standing tensions that pitted Trump, his top aides and his security detail against Secret Service leadership, as Trump advisers privately fretted that the vaunted security agency was not doing enough to protect the former president,” the Washington Post reported.

On the morning of July 14, less than 12 hours after the assassination attempt, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi denied reports that Trump’s security detail had been refused when asking for extra help. “Theres an untrue assertion that a member of the former President’s team requested additional security resources & that those were rebuffed. This is absolutely false,” Guglielmi wrote in an X post. “In fact, we added protective resources & technology & capabilities as part of the increased campaign travel tempo.”

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle — whose resignation has been called for by lawmakers in both major parties in the wake of the assassination attempt — repeated the denial in a meeting with Trump campaign leadership in Wisconsin on Monday, sources familiar with the meeting told the Washington Post.

After the outlet asked Guglielmi for comment on the reports, he stated that the agency had obtained additional information indicating that requests for assistance were indeed made by the former president’s security team. It is believed that these requests may have been denied by Secret Service headquarters, prompting a probe into the matter.

“The Secret Service has a vast, challenging, and intricate mission,” the agency spokesman said in a statement. “Every day we work in a dynamic threat environment to ensure our protectees are safe and secure across multiple events, travel, and other difficult environments. We execute a comprehensive and layered strategy to balance personnel, technology, and specialized operational needs.”

A Secret Service official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, stated that the agency has been plagued by limited resources since a number of scandals during the Obama years. Shortages have had a significant effect when it comes to “competing demands” for high-level resources such as counter-sniper teams, as well as uniformed officers who assist with screening event attendees for weapons using magnetometers.

The agency is currently responsible for security details for more than two-dozen people, as well as a few others who receive what is known as “door-to-door” from the moment they leave their homes. After the attempt on Trump’s life, the Secret Service added a detail to protect independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as Republican vice-presidential nominee Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH).

Bill Gage, a Secret Service veteran who served on protection and counter-assault teams under multiple presidential administrations, told the Washington Post that the agency has long been swamped by a large volume of protection requests while dealing with limited resources and staffing caps.

“I hate to dumb it down this much but it is a simple case of supply and demand. The requests get turned down routinely,” Gage said. “A director has to finally come forward to say we are way understaffed and we cannot possibly continue with this zero fail mission without a significantly bigger budget.”

The agency’s Office of Protective Operations reviews is tasked with reviewing security requests for events. The weekend of the Butler shooting, the Secret Service had sent multiple counter-sniper teams and hundreds of agents to the Republican National Convention, as well as an event for First Lady Jill Biden. The agency was also prepping for a planned trip to Austin by President Joe Biden.

“It’s just true — we don’t have the resources to secure him [Trump] like we did when he was president,” one anonymous official said.

In one example of a denied request, the agency turned down Trump’s security detail when they asked for additional resources to cover the former president’s massive rally in Pickens, South Carolina. The rally was of particular security concern due to the venue’s surroundings, which included several commercial and residential buildings. Sources familiar with the request told the Washington Post that Trump’s security team requested additional counter-snipers to be stationed on rooftops.

Sources told the Washington Post that the Pickens event was just one example of a denied request for additional tactical support.

“On multiple other occasions, Trump’s team asked for magnetometers and additional help to screen attendees for Trump to attend sporting events, particularly wrestling matches and college football games,” the outlet reported. These requests were denied since they did not involve official campaign events.

A number of lawmakers and pundits have called on Secret Service Director Cheatle to resign in the wake of the attempt on Trump’s life, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA).

JUST IN: Trump Takes The Stage For First Rally Since Assassination Attempt

The New Atlantis

Former President Donald Trump took the stage in Grand Rapids, Michigan for his first rally since the attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania just a week earlier.

The former president was introduced by his new running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) shortly before 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time. He emerged from a tunnel towards the end of the packed event venue before making his way down a platform that spanned the length of the venue.

Trump frequently paused to acknowledge supporters and raise his fist towards the crowd before making his way to the podium. He and Vance took the entirety of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless The USA” — Trump’s signature entrance song — to acknowledge the crowd.

(FREE RED HAT: “Impeached. Arrested. Convicted. Shot. Still Standing”)

The former president was not wearing the large bandage he was seen sporting over his right ear during the Republican National Convention earlier this week. It was instead replaced by a barely noticeable, skin-colored bandage.

Upon taking the stage to roaring chants of “USA,” Trump remarked that the crowd had the atmosphere of a Michigan football game. He proceeded to thank the crowd for the outpouring of love and support expressed by supporters and non-supporters alike in the wake of last Saturday’s events.

“As I said earlier this week, I stand before you only by the grace of almighty God,” Trump told the crowd. “I shouldn’t be here.”

He went on to pay tribute to slain firefighter Corey Comperatore, who died while shielding his family from gunfire when 20-year-old Matthew Crooks opened fire. “We remain in contact and send our deepest respect to the families. Corey, as you know, Corey Comperatore, was a brave firefighter who died at funeral yesterday, shielding his wife and daughters from bullets,” Trump said.

He shielded them from the bullets of this horrendous person. Corey was a hero, and we will carry his memory in our hearts for all time. Great hero.”

Members of the audience responded with a loud cheer, following chants of “Corey, Corey.”

“And he was a big Trumper, and we will never forget him, right? We’re all together,” the former president said.

JUST IN: Fox News Confirms There Was A Third Shooter At Trump Rally

The New Atlantis

New details have emerged on the Secret Service counter sniper who was able to neutralize would-be presidential assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks with a “one in a million” shot immediately after the gunman opened fire.

Citing a source who had been briefed on the investigation, Fox News confirmed previous reports that a third weapon was fired during the attempt on former President Trump’s life.

“A source familiar with the investigation tells me that, look, it took a single shot to kill the would-be assassin Thomas Crooks. And that shot came from a Secret Service counter-sniper that the source says he described the shot as a one-in-a-million type of shot,” said Fox News correspondent Bryan Llenas. “The counter-sniper could only see the top of the scope, his eye, and forehead because the lip of the AGR building that Crooks was on was obscuring that view.”

(FREE T-SHIRT: Trump “STILL STANDING” – Get Yours Today)

The source further confirmed that a third weapon was fired when a local police counter sniper team also took a shot at Crooks, which missed. Audio experts had previously contended that a third weapon had been fired.

Federal law enforcement sources tell Fox that while Crooks snuck up on that roof, a Butler Township Emergency Services unit sniper team was looking out of the windows of that same building watching for any suspicious activity.”

Investigators have disclosed that Crooks purchased a five-foot ladder from a local Home Depot, as well as 50 rounds of ammunition from a local gun shop, before making his way to the rally venue with an AR-15 DPMS rifle that was owned by his father.

It is believed that Crooks hid the weapon behind an air-conditioning unit that he used to climb onto the roof of the building. It is also possible that Crooks hid the weapon in his backpack — which he was observed wearing roughly an hour prior to the shooting — though this would require a sizable amount of time for disassembly and reassembly.

Investigators have stated that Crooks was initially viewed as a “person of interest” when he was seen lurking around the grounds before the rally began.

The New Atlantis
Secret Service snapped a photo of Crooks as he lurked around the rally grounds. He was seen as a “person of interest.”

Once he climbed onto the roof, Crooks he was identified as an “elevated threat.” He was confronted by a local police officer who was holding onto the roof with two hands after being hoisted up by his colleagues. Once he pulled himself up and peered over the roof, Crooks aimed his rifle at the officers, prompting the officer to drop roughly eight feet down.

The local officers then announced over a radio channel that they had encountered an armed suspect on the roof.

Now, Fox News has confirmed that Crooks was neutralized by a Secret Service counter sniper located in an elevated position to the right of the former president’s podium. The sniper can be seen peering down his scope before briefly taking his eyes off to confirm his target.

Once Crooks opened fire, he was dropped with a single shot.

Biden Campaign Turns To Former ‘Late Show’ Host For Fundraiser After Hollywood Donors Bail thumbnail

Biden Campaign Turns To Former ‘Late Show’ Host For Fundraiser After Hollywood Donors Bail

The New Atlantis

The Biden Campaign appears to be attempting to make up for lost ground after a number of Hollywood donors turned their backs on the president, this time looking to another high-profile show business figure in David Letterman.

The Associated Press reported Friday that the former “Late Show” host will be headlining a Biden campaign fundraiser on July 29. Letterman will be joined by Hawaii Governor Josh Green at the home of one of the governor’s friends at Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

“We support the President, the V.P. and the Democratic Party, in good and tough times because he has been there for us as a family and a state,” Green told the AP.

(YOURS FREE: Trump 2024 “Still Standing” Flag With Iconic New Imagery)

Letterman helmed CBS’s “Late Show” for 22 seasons before retiring in 2014. His time slot was ultimately filled by alleged comedian Stephen Colbert.

The event — which is one of 10 Biden Campaign fundraisers over the last several says of July — comes after a number of Hollywood stars have bailed on the president following his disastrous debate performance.

In one example, A-list actor George Clooney called on the president to step down in an op-ed titled “I Love Joe Biden. But We Need a New Nominee,” in the New York Times. It was published just weeks after Clooney joined Biden, as well as former President Barrack Obama, for a fundraiser in Los Angeles.

Clooney explained that as a “lifelong Democrat,” he loves President Biden and believes he has done an excellent job as president. “But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can. It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate,” Clooney wrote.

“Was he tired? Yes. A cold? Maybe. But our party leaders need to stop telling us that 51 million people didn’t see what we just saw. We’re all so terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we’ve opted to ignore every warning sign. The George Stephanopoulos interview only reinforced what we saw the week before. As Democrats, we collectively hold our breath or turn down the volume whenever we see the president, who we respect, walk off Air Force One or walk back to a mic to answer an unscripted question.”

Biden has also lost the support of horror author Stephen King and actor/director Rob Reiner, both of whom have been rabid supporters of the president throughout his tenure in the White House.

The president has rejected growing calls for him to step aside, even after the 81-year-old was diagnosed with COVID-19 last week. Reports that Biden would be stepping down this weekend were swirling on Thursday, though the White House has denied them and insisted that the commander-in-chief looks forward to returning to the campaign trail next week.

Dr. Fauci Downplays Trump’s Wounds From Assassination Attempt thumbnail

Dr. Fauci Downplays Trump’s Wounds From Assassination Attempt

The New Atlantis

Dr. Anthony Fauci downplayed the severity of the wounds suffered by former President Donald Trump when a would-be assassin opened fire with an AR-15 and narrowly missed his head due to a last second turn.

Fauci, who headed up the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for decades before retiring last year, was asked about the severity of the former president’s injuries during an appearance on CNN.

Trump has been seen wearing a bandage on his right ear in the days following the assassination attempt. The former president was struck by a bullet that grazed his ear when the gunman opened fire, prompting Secret Service agents to dive on top of him. He was seen bleeding from his ear when Secret Service personnel evacuated him from the event.

“I don’t think there is much more to it,” Fauci told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.  “I mean, from what we’ve seen and what we’ve heard, it was a bullet shot that grazed his ear and injured his ear, according to the physicians who examined him. There was no other further damage.”

(FREE RED HAT: “Impeached. Arrested. Convicted. Shot. Still Standing”)

“So I think that with regard to the health related purely to the bullet itself, I think he’s in the clear as far as I can see. I mean it’s dangerous to make diagnoses from a distance,” the former NIH director continued. “From what I’m seeing, the way he’s acting now and what his physicians report are it seems that been a superficial wound to the ear, and that’s all.”

CNN’s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta speculated that Trump may be dealing with  “psychological trauma” after the shooting that killed retired firefighter Corey Comperatore and injured two others. Gupta called for a “full public assessment” of Trump’s injuries in order for voters to be informed of his condition.

During Friday night’s segment, Blitzer asked Fauci about Gupta’s opinion. “As you know, he’s a neurosurgeon. What do you make of that?” he asked.

“He’s a good friend. He’s got a good clinical judgment. He’s a practicing neurosurgeon,” Fauci answered.

“So again, it’s very difficult from a distance when you’re not examining someone yourself to make any projection about it. I’m just commenting on what I’m seeing superficially. I would imagine, Wolf, that his physicians did some studying. They very likely did an imaging study, being a CT or an MRI or what have you. I don’t know that as a fact, but I would think that that would be a reasonable thing to do, following an encounter the way he had with a bullet.”

Byron Donalds Gets Applause From Bill Maher’s Crowd After Shutting Him Down On His Own Show

The New Atlantis

U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds Turned the tables on “Real Time” host Bill Maher by drawing attention to rampant inflation under the Biden Administration.

Maher began the conversation by claiming that Trump’s inability to “concede elections” will always be a dealbreaker for him. The HBO host was a prominent believer in Russian collusion conspiracies and frequently advanced the notion that the 2016 election was influenced by the Russian government on his show.

He then listed a number of issues he took with Trump’s speech before falsely claiming that inflation is down under President Biden. While inflation is down year over year, prices remain up roughly 20 percent since Biden took office in January 2021.

“Whatever he thinks should be the reality, is the reality that he then espouses, even though you know it’s not?” Maher said while asking the Florida congressman if this “bothers” him.

“What he talks about is what Americans are feeling every single day, no matter which city in the country you’re talking about,” Donalds said, at which point Maher interjected with, “so facts don’t matter?”

“Oh they do,” Donalds replied. “Inflation, let’s take that one for a moment. Yeah, the year-over-year right now is what 3.4 or 3.5 percent? But the overarching of inflation from when Joe Biden took office to now is up massively over 20 percent. Those prices didn’t go away.”

Maher once again interjected to claim that it is a lie to say that inflation is the “worst ever.”

“Because if you are, if you’re an American under the age of 45, or 45 or younger like I am, his is the worst inflation you’ve ever seen. I heard about inflation from my mom under Jimmy Carter and Reagan had to get that under control. I’ve never seen anything like this,” Donalds shot back.

The House Freedom Caucus member concluded that inflation is a driving force behind polling momentum in Trump’s favor since Biden took office. “It’s one of the reasons why young voters, young men in particular are saying, you know what, at least when Donald Trump was president, ‘I had more money in my pocket and I could get more things,’ because this Joe Biden guy, he’s not getting it done,” Donalds said, drawing applause and cheers from Maher’s crowd.

Two New Theories Arise That May Explain How Trump Shooter Got Rifle Onto Roof

The New Atlantis

Federal investigators now have two working theories as to how would-be Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to get an AR-15 DPMS AR-15 rifle onto the roof of a building with a clear line of sight on the former president’s podium in Butler, Pennsylvania last Saturday.

According to a report from Fox News, one source who had been briefed on the investigation stated that it is believed Crooks hid the rifle behind an air-conditioning unit he used to climb on top of the AGR International Building. Another theory contends that the rifle — which was purchased by the gunman’s father — was hidden in the gunman’s backpack.

The source told the outlet that hiding the rifle in his backpack would require a significant amount of time for disassembling and reassembling the firearm. It is therefore believed that the 20-year-old likely hid the weapon behind the AC unit.

The latest report comes as questions continue to swirl surrounding the events leading up to the shooting and security failures surrounding the event.

Secret Service personnel first took notice of Crooks, who was wearing the backpack, as he surveyed the rally grounds roughly an hour before the shooting. He was seen using a golf range finder to scope out the former president’s podium.

Investigators have stated that Crooks was initially viewed as a “person of interest” when he was seen lurking around the grounds before the rally began.

Investigators are also probing whether Crooks used a drone to survey the rally grounds prior to the attempt on the former president’s life, which killed retired firefighter Corey Comperatore as he shielded his family from gunfire. Two additional victims — David Dutch, 57, of New Kensington, PA and James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania — were critically injured.

Prayer Works: Michael Strahan’s Daughter Announces She Is Now CANCER FREE

The New Atlantis

Isabella Strahan, the daughter of NFL legend Michael Strahan, has shared a major update about her battle with cancer.

In a video post released on Thursday, the 19-year-old announced that she is now cancer free. The video, which was titled “Goodbye Hospital,” comes months after Strahan revealed in January that she had been diagnosed with a brain tumor after undergoing an MRI.

“Everything was clear,” she said, adding that her scans looked great. “Cancer free, and everything is great. I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October.”

“I miss my doctors already, and everyone who’s helped me because they’re all so nice. I feel like I’m just saddened today knowing that I wasn’t going to be going back for a while,” she added.

Strahan had been sharing updates on her cancer battle with the public after revealing in a January “Good Morning America” segment that she had been diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a form of brain tumor.

Sitting next to her father, Isabella Strahan told GMA host Robin Roberts that she began experiencing headaches and nausea in the fall, not long after beginning college classes. Strahan added that the situation had worsened by October, when she started throwing up blood. Doctors were ultimately able to identify a tumor towards the back of her brain.

While undergoing treatment back in May, the 19-year-old revealed that she had been experiencing memory loss.

“I don’t remember Tuesday, ’cause I’m given this drug to protect my hearing and just because I have a reaction to it, they give me Ativan,” she said in a video that month. “And for some reason, this happened last time too. I can’t remember a single thing about that day.”

In June, Strahan completed her fourth and final round of chemotherapy, an accomplishment she celebrated in a TikTok post titled “Did It.”

“Now I have to recover and get back to my usual state, which is going to take a long time,” she said in a June 14 video post. “But (I’m) done with treatments.” In another vlog uploaded on Wednesday, Strahan explained that she was undergoing surgery to remove her chemotherapy port, which is a small device that attaches to a vein and allows doctors to draw blood and apply treatment without using a needle stick.

“The recovery for this seems to be like four weeks of not going in water and stuff like that, and just kind of being careful and scar care,” she said. “So not too bad.”
