President Donald Trump gave New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani his blessing to call him the F word during a friendly Friday afternoon Oval Office press conference.
While the two turned the tables on doubters as they shared handshakes and laughs following months of political sparring, reporters asked socialist Mamdani if he still thinks Trump is a fascist. They also asked conservative populist Trump if he still thinks Mamdani is a communist.
A White House reporter asked Mamdani, “Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?”
“I’ve spoken about–” Mamdani began, before Trump interjected with a smile.
“That’s OK, you can just say yes,” Trump said.
Mamdani responded, “OK, alright,” looking at Trump, then to the reporter.
“OK? That’s easier,” Trump said.
“Yes,” Mamdani said.
“It’s easier than explaining it. I don’t mind,” Trump said, patting Mamdani on the arm, as the mayor-elect smiled.

During the press conference, Mamdani and Trump largely focused on Americans’ concerns regarding affordability and the cost of groceries.
Trump assured that both he and Mamdani want to combat crime in the Big Apple, as the two steered clear of delving deep into their policy disagreements on topics like immigration enforcement.
