WATCH: Nancy Pelosi Malfunctions On CNN, Struggles To Speak Coherently

The New Atlantis

A noticeably flustered Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Tuesday struggled to deliver a coherent answer about her involvement in pushing President Joe Biden out of the presidential race, leaving some viewers concerned about her well-being.

In the run-up to Biden’s exit last month, insiders remarked on the former House speaker’s deep involvement with mobilizing leaders in the Democratic Party against Biden, laying out poll results showing that a loss to former President Donald Trump was all but inevitable. Asked how Vice President Kamala Harris would be a better nominee, Pelosi delivered a winding, stuttering answer that appeared to touch on assault rifles, COVID shots, and “chips and science” all without bringing home much of a point.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

“Whether it’s well the first bill… the first bill… that protect, our, uh, uh…” she said, pointing to her shoulder. “Assault, uh, bill, uh,” prompting the host to find the word for her, replying “Covid.” That seems to reset Pelosi who continued, “Shots in the arm, money in the pockets, children in school, people that work, the infrastructure bill, building, building in a way that is respectful of communities, pe-… chips and science.”

WATCH:

Pelosi, 84, is three years older than President Biden, who faced calls to end his campaign after a soporific debate performance against President Trump that reinforced anxiety among allies about his age. Following the 2022 elections, the powerful California Democrat announced she would be stepping back from the party’s House leadership, though she remains an influential force in the 2024 cycle. She, along with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Speaker Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and former President Barack Obama are all believed to have encouraged Biden to step aside, putting Harris on a glide path to the Democratic Party’s nomination earlier this week.

Her resignation from party leadership came a month after a man broke into her San Francisco home and attacked her husband with a hammer while he slept. Paul Pelosi was admitted to a hospital with severe head injuries following the attack by a conspiracy theorist who was later sentenced to 30 years in prison. Alexandria Pelosi, the couple’s daughter and a documentary filmmaker, said the brush with death was a wake-up call for her mother about the importance of family. “Was this all worth it? For my family? What we went through?” she said of her mother’s 35 years in the House, Forbes reported at the time. “My parents would say yes . . . But for the family, the families are the ones that pay the highest price for this kind of life.”

Despite the sympathy Pelosi and her husband received afterward, she remains one of the most polarizing politicians in recent history. Republicans continue to pillory vulnerable Democrats who are tied to Pelosi but distancing themselves from an unpopular Biden administration this year. Case in point: Rep. Mary Peltola (D-AK) of Alaska, who recently earned a rare endorsement from the National Rifle Association and touts her opposition to parts of the president’s agenda, including Second Amendment protections and opposition to a federal assault weapons ban.

STOLEN VALOR? Kamala’s VP Pick EXPOSED In Shocking New Report thumbnail

STOLEN VALOR? Kamala’s VP Pick EXPOSED In Shocking New Report

The New Atlantis

Two high-ranking former military officers have come forward alleging that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is guilty of the crime of “stolen valor,” or impersonating a veteran in order to obtain tangible benefits.

In a 2018 endorsement letter to West Central Tribune newspaper of Willmar, MN, retired Command Sergeant Majors Thomas Behrends and Paul Herr shared their lengthy experiences with Gov. Walz during his time in the state’s National Guard. On Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris selected the state’s chief executive to be her running mate, propelling him to the front of the Democratic Party’s leadership while also putting him in the crosshairs of critics back home. In deeply personal terms, Behrends and Herr both describe a pattern of disregard for procedures by Gov. Walz and ultimately chose to run his successful 2018 campaign for office on the back of military service that he failed to complete.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

“Tim Walz has embellished and selectively omitted facts and circumstances of his military career for years,” the men wrote. “We, retired Command Sergeants Major of the Minnesota National Guard, feel it is our duty and responsibility to bring forth the truth as we know it concerning his service record. So, we have put together a timeline of his service post 9/11.” Going on, they claim to have spoken with many individuals who knew Walz following his decision to enlist in the Guard at the age of 26.

In 2005, one year after he had been promoted to Command Sergeant Major of the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion, Gov. Walz left his soldiers “hanging” as they were called up for the Iraq war. “His excuse to other leaders was that he needed to retire in order to run for congress,” the retired sergeant majors write. “Which is false, according to a Department of Defense Directive, he could have run and requested permission from the Secretary of Defense before entering active duty; as many reservists have.”

“If he had retired normally and respectfully, you would think he would have ensured his retirement documents were correctly filled out and signed, and that he would have ensured he was reduced to Master Sergeant for dropping out of the academy. Instead he waited for the paperwork to catch up to him. His official retirement document states, SOLDIER NOT AVAILABLE FOR SIGNATURE.”

As a result, they continued, Walz was demoted to Master Sergeant. “It took a while for the system to catch up to him as it was uncharted territory, literally no one quits in the position he was in, or drops out of the academy. Except him,” they added. “In November 2006 he was elected to the House of Representatives. He claims to be the highest-ranking enlisted service member ever to serve in Congress,” a statement made while his battalion was deployed overseas for 22 months, a time when they were restricted by Army regulations from endorsing or opposing political candidates for office. “Yes, he served at that rank, but was never qualified at that rank, and will receive retirement benefits at one rank below. You be the judge,” Behrends and Herr concluded.

“For Tim Walz to abandon his fellow soldiers and quit when they needed experienced leadership most is disheartening… The bottom line in all of this is gut wrenching and sad to explain. When the nation called, he quit. He failed to complete the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. He failed to serve for two years following completion of the academy, which he dropped out of. He failed to serve two years after the conditional promotion to Command Sergeant Major. He failed to fulfill the full six years of the enlistment he signed on September 18th, 2001. He failed his country. He failed his state. He failed the Minnesota Army National Guard, the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion, and his fellow Soldiers. And he failed to lead by example. Shameful.”

Walz’s personal history will surely be chronicled by national media in the coming days and weeks, but the letter is an opening salvo in the opposition research that will soon be released by Republicans eager to blunt Harris’s rise in the polls. Already, conservative influencers and the wife of a longtime Minnesota Vikings star have spoken out about the governor’s presiding over the violent Black Lives Matter riots of 2020, a period that left Minneapolis in strife and under siege.

NFL Star’s Wife UNLOADS On Kamala’s VP Pick: ‘Bad Bad News’

The New Atlantis

The wife of Minnesota NFL star Adam Thielen is publicly bashing the selection of Gov. Tim Walz by Vice President Kamala Harris to be her running mate, saying he has been nothing but “bad, bad news” for the state since first taking office.

Caitlin Thielen, high school sweetheart and wife to the wide receiver since 2015, didn’t hold back from sharing how disastrous Walz has been for residents in her home state where she said crime has spiraled out of control. “Oh man.. bad bad news. He has run Minneapolis into the ground,” she tweeted on Tuesday just minutes after news of Walz’s selection broke. Earlier in the morning she reposted a video from downtown Minneapolis following the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, where an epicenter of outrage led to violent confrontations, a massive police presence, and billions of dollars in damage to public and private properties.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

Her feelings were summed up in a post by Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk that Caitlin Thielen retweeted. In it, the conservative influencer states to Walz, “You helped ignite the George Floyd riots, the worst the country had seen in decades. While Minneapolis burned, you stalled on deploying the National Guard for an entire day, blaming the city for not submitting the right paperwork. You let your daughter leak the Guard’s deployment plans online, so that rioters would know how long they had to loot the city with impunity. Minneapolis is a war zone because of you.”

Kirk continued: “Just days after the attempted murder of Donald Trump, you called him and his supporters “fascists,” egging on the same rhetoric that led to him being shot in the first place.”

Caitlin Thielen was still busy highlighting the posts of other Minnesotans as of late Tuesday morning, including one by podcaster Michele Tafoya. “I have lived in Minnesota since 1994. It has gone from being one of the safest, prettiest places in the US to — under @GovTimWalz — one of the saddest. Police morale has plummeted. More people have left than moved in,” Tafoya wrote. “Walz is a an excellent liar. He let our cities burn, has lost over half a billion taxpayer dollars in the last four years to scandal, blamed the spread of Covid on youth sports, I could go on…”

Adam Thielen played for Minnesota State before signing with the Minnesota Vikings for 10 seasons. He is with the Carolina Panthers for the second half of his career, though he and Caitlin continue to call Woodbury, MN home, a suburb about 20 miles east of Minneapolis. Unlike his wife, Adam has been much more reserved about his political leanings. He was among a dozen Vikings members to visit a George Floyd tribute memorial in 2020, according to CBS, but otherwise has remained silent about the 2024 presidential election.

Trump VINDICATED After Witnesses Smack Down Hoax

The New Atlantis

A select congressional committee investigating that January 6th, 2021 riots at the Capitol building fell victim to false stories about former President Donald Trump lunging for the wheel of his Secret Service vehicle during the chaos.

That’s one of the conclusions reached by the U.S. Office of the Inspector General, which last week released a long-awaited report on how Secret Service reacted on J6 as protestors breached the Capitol building while members of Congress were present and preparing to certify the results of the 2020 election. Witnesses who spoke with the OIG rebuffed the story of Cassidy Hutchinson, a star witness for the J6 committee. Shortly after the riots, Hutchinson, an employee of ex-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, testified that she heard from presidential security official Tony Ornato that Trump lunged for the wheel of “the Beast,” the presidential state car where he while traveling as the day unfolded. In her telling, the former president became physically confrontational after learning from Secret Service agents that he was being driven back to the White House instead of the Capitol.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

Hutchinson’s retelling is at odds with testimony from witnesses who told the OIG that they never saw Trump behave aggressively in the Beast, according to the Daily Caller. “We also interviewed [redacted] Secret Service agents in the limousine with the President. The limousine driver said that the President was angry when his request to go to the Capitol was denied, whereas the President’s detail lead, who was seated in front of the President, said he did not recall if the President was angry,” reads a footnote in the report. “We asked [redacted] agents whether the President reached for the steering wheel or lunged toward the detail lead when his request to go to the Capitol was denied, and [redacted] witnesses said those actions did not occur.”

The disclosure provides more ammunition to Trump allies like Congressman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), who previously subpoenaed Hutchinson and asked her to explain why her previous testimony failed to mention the story about Trump lunging for the wheel of the vehicle. “On June 28, 2022, you testified during one of the Select Committee’s primetime hearings. During this hearing you asserted that former President Donald Trump attempted to grab the steering wheel from one United States Secret Service employee driving the vehicle and lunged at another,” Loudermilk wrote in his January letter. “You subsequently testified that you spoke with [Trump spokeswoman] Alyssa Farah Griffin in order to orchestrate the third interview with the Select Committee on May 17th without your attorney’s knowledge. Despite this, you did not recount this attention-grabbing series of events during the May 17th interview.”

Even more startling is an admission by Ornato that he does not remember the incident as it was repeated by Hutchinson. “I do not recall being made aware of any details about the President’s return trip to the White House and, as such, I do not recall speaking with anyone about it,” he said, according to the OIG report. In her testimony, Hutchinson said Ornato “described [Trump] as being irate. The president said something to the effect of, ‘I am the f-ing president. Take me up to the Capitol now.’” A significant number of mainstream media outlets reported on Hutchinson’s testimony, adding to the presumptive nature of the charge against President Trump.

‘Halloween’ Star Passes Away At 85

The New Atlantis

Horror movie fans are mourning the loss of a supporting actor in the “Halloween” movie franchise which launched the career of actress Jamie Lee Curtis as well as an untold number of nightmares about the stalkings of her killer brother Michael Myers.

At 19, Curtis earned her film debut in the 1978 box office hit by director John Carpenter, appearing alongside Charles Cyphers who played a town detective chasing a masked Myers as he walks among trick-or-treaters during Halloween festivities. Cyphers suffered a brief illness in Tucson, Arizona and passed away on Sunday at the age of 85, according to the New York Post. “Charles was a lovable and sensitive man,” his manager Chris Roe said in a statement to Variety. “He always had the best stories, and you got a full performance while he told you. He was a close friend and client [of] many years who will be dearly missed.”

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

Born in Niagara Falls, New York, on July 28, 1939, Cyphers earned his theater degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and California State University, Los Angeles. He nabbed his first on-screen role the following year in 1974’s “Truck Turner.” Two years later, a young Cyphers first collaborated with Carpenter in the 1976 film “Assault on Precinct 13″ about L.A. cops who barricade themselves in a police station while citizens go up in arms in a citywide riot. His performance as a prison bus driver earned Cypher the role of Sheriff Leigh Brackett in “Halloween” as well as follow-up performances in “Halloween II” in 1981 and “Halloween Kills” in 2021.

Before filming commenced for the 2022 film “Halloween Kills,” Cyphers stated it was “shocking” but “wonderful” to be invited to participate. “To be called back again in a film, it’s unheard of after 40 years. Most people are dead,” he told HorrorConUK. “Thankfully I didn’t die so they brought me back. It was wonderful to come back and do it again and be paid. It was nice. I enjoyed it.”

Other projects Cyphers and Carpenter collaborated on include “The Fog” and 1981’s “Escape From New York” starring a young Kurt Russell. Other credits to his name include 1978’s “Coming Home,” 1979’s “The Onion Field,” 1982’s “Honkytonk Man,” 1989’s “Major League” and 1989’s “Gleaming the Cube,” the story of a California skateboarder featuring Tony Hawk. He also enjoyed a number of television appearances over his four decades in acting, including “The Bionic Woman,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Wonder Woman,” “The Betty White Show,” “Starsky and Hutch,” “The Dukes of Hazzard,” “Dallas,” “Night Court,” “Seinfeld” and “ER.”

MNSBC Election Expert RIPS Kamala’s VP Pick, Explains Why He Doesn’t Provide ‘Boost’

The New Atlantis

MSNBC began Tuesday morning in meltdown mode after news emerged that Vice President Kamala Harris had selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.

Steve Kornacki, the liberal network’s primary political analyst, immediately scoffed at Walz’s selection, writing on X that the progressive Democrat does not provide the kind of “boost” that Harris needs to credibly surpass former President Donald Trump in the polls. Digging into data from Minnesota’s 2022 gubernatorial race, Kornacki cited Walz’s struggle with blue-collar, working-class voters when pitted against a credible Republican alternative. “Tim Walz’s ’22 GOV performance in the MN counties that have swung the most toward Trump post-2012,” he wrote preemptively on Monday night, adding Tuesday morning after the selection was made public, “The results of Walz’s ’22 GOV race in MN don’t suggest he provides an obvious boost with the blue collar voters Dems have been shedding in WI/MI/PA.”

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

Across 25 Minnesota counties where more than three in four white residents do not hold a four-year degree, Walz’s margin of loss in 2022 is nearly identical to the levels of support for President Trump in the 2020 election. The progressive governor counts his best showing at -3% in rural Mower County, just south of Rochester, but is at an astonishing -52% in the northwestern county of Morrison, which has just 30 residents per square mile. Despite his shortcomings, insiders described a Walz selection as the “path of least resistance” for Harris, according to Politico.

“I can see them looking at the explosion of enthusiasm from young people and being spooked out of nominating him if it risks bringing Gaza back into the conversation,” said a Democratic strategist who knows the Harris team well, referencing Pennsylvania Gov. Joshua Shapiro, who is Jewish and who Harris advisors feared would stoke antisemitic attacks on her ticket from the left. Still, the vice president’s campaign will be hard pressed to explain why she chose to forgo selecting a popular swing-state governor who could realistically have given her a path to the presidency through Pennsylvania. “What does he [Walz] get her?” another insider asked the outlet.

Kornacki also pointed out that Gov. Walz has essentially spun his wheels in the more liberal counties. Since 2020, his levels of support in Minneapolis’s Hennepin County have remained virtually unchanged, as have they in seven others, two of which he trails a generic Republican by six and seven percent. These, Kornacki states, are the more highly educated areas of Minnesota that have trended toward Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden since the 2012 presidential election.

Put together, the analyst’s data suggest Walz will reinforce support of Harris among college-educated white voters while doing little to shore up her flagging support among working-class whites. She has benefited from a surge in support among Black voters who were until presently favoring President Trump at the highest levels for a Republican nominee since the Civil Rights era. In response, President Trump questioned whether Harris recently “became Black” as she traveled to Atlanta where she was knocked for delivering her stump speech with a false Southern twang.

JUST IN: Democrats Launch Soviet-Style Probe Into Pro-Trump Super PAC Funded By Elon Musk

The New Atlantis

A super PAC funded in part by Elon Musk and dedicated to supporting former President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign is in the crosshairs of Democratic officials who are using its prominence to draw attention to “dark money” in the presidential election.

CNBC first reported on an investigation by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson into Musk’s multi-million donations to America PAC even though neither she nor elected Democrats could point to any specific laws the third-party group has broken. Musk publicly endorsed Trump following the July 13th assassination attempt against him. Additionally, he pledged to donate upwards of $45 million per month to groups like America PAC that would support Trump’s reelection. The X owner and founder of Tesla and SpaceX has a net worth of $225 million and is far and away the richest individual in the world.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

The group’s focus has been on registering voters nationwide but puts a special emphasis on collecting data from voters in battleground states. Those who live in states such as Georgia, Pennsylvania, or Arizona and visit the PAC’s website will be asked to share contact information like email addresses and cell phone numbers, while others from solidly red or blue states will be directed to a more generic form asking them to register to vote. In Michigan, where Trump is neck-and-neck with Vice President Kamala Harris, residents are asked to enter everything from their phone number and email address to their zip code.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Benson said the office is probing the PAC to determine if voter data is being used and disclosed properly. “Every citizen should know exactly how their personal information is being used by PACs, especially if an entity is claiming it will help people register to vote in Michigan or any other state,” a spokeswoman for the Michigan secretary of state’s office said in a statement to CNBC. “While the America PAC is a federal political action committee, the Department is reviewing their activities to determine if there have been any violations of state law. We will refer potential violations to the Michigan Attorney General’s office as appropriate.”

A person familiar with the inner workings of America PAC told the outlet that there have been some discrepancies about the function of buttons on its website and that the group plans to update the site soon. They added that the group does not directly register voters in swing states. Experts who spoke with CNBC said they did not see any signs of potential lawbreaking. Barbara McQuade, former U.S. Attorney for Michigan’s eastern district, said “I am not aware of any laws being broken.” Mary Massaron, a partner at law firm Plunkett Cooney, could not point to any specific violations but urged the PAC to be more transparent about its data collection efforts. “It is very troubling for any candidate or PAC funded project to deliberately fail to provide information or a link to register to vote when someone asks because they would potentially vote for the opposing candidates,” Massaron said in an email.

The Republican National Committee has sued Benson at least twice, once for “secretly attempting to circumvent Michigan’s absentee voting safeguards,” according to the GOP, and a second time in connection with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s efforts to expand the number state agencies who could assist with voter registration.

‘Squad’ Member Trailing By HUGE Margin With One Day Till Election

The New Atlantis

With just over 24 hours to go before the polls close, another “Squad” member is badly underwater in the latest polling and sits in serious jeopardy of losing her Democratic primary.

The 2024 election cycle has been unkind to members of the informal far-left group of Democratic lawmakers who prioritize showmanship and rhetoric over service and results. In June, New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) lost his primary to a pro-Israel Westchester native after voters grew tired of his pro-Palestinian grandstanding and photo ops with progressive Jewish leaders who, it turns out, never liked him very much. The story may repeat itself this week in Missouri’s 1st District this week where Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) is badly trailing progressive prosecutor Wesley Bell.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

The Jewish Insider, which has closely chronicled the rise and fall of anti-Israel Squad members in Congress, reported on a poll by the political arm of the Democratic Majority for Israel, DMFI PAC, showing Bell leading Bush 48%-42%, well outside the margin of error and putting Bush on track to lose her reelection on Tuesday. If the result holds, she would not fare as poorly as Bowman who lost by a wide margin of 58.4% to 41.6%. The Bell campaign is taking the results in stride while taking nothing for granted.

“Wesley is finishing the last few days of this primary campaign the way he’s been running the whole time: talking with people, hearing their concerns and sharing his vision for better representation for this district,” Anjan Mukherjee, a spokesperson for the Bell campaign, said in a statement to Jewish Insider on Thursday. “That’s how he was elected as a city councilman and county prosecutor, and it’s why he will be the next member of Congress from MO-01.”

Washington, DC, USA – December 1, 2021: Rep. Cori Bush, speaking at the abortion rights rally at the Supreme Court, Jackson Women’s Health v. Dobbs

A large coalition of progressive activists, from labor unions to Black Lives Matter chapters, have endorsed Bell over Bush, who has been one of the least productive lawmakers in the 118th Congress. She may have escaped criticism of that, however, were it not for a series of politically sensitive scandals that tainted her image as an outsider. She struggled to describe the tax code after announcing her reelection campaign, and in January the Justice Department quietly launched an investigation into her hiring of a bodyguard with no credentials who was paid more than $100,000 over two years. The guard, Nathaniel Davis, has a history of making virulent antisemitic statements. Bush and Cortney Merritts, another bodyguard, tied the knot in a private ceremony in February 2023. Earlier this month the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, her hometown paper, endorsed Bell.

Some of the House Democratic leadership has not yet turned their back on Bush. On Friday House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) campaigned with the Missouri Democrat on Friday, though Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has kept his powder dry in the feud.

Jewish advocates in the district are hopeful they can repeat the success felt by Rep. Bowman’s defeat earlier this summer. Benjamin Singer, CEO of the Jewish community organization St. Louis Votes, said he has anticipated “record turnout among Jewish St. Louisans, in part due to our grassroots organizing, door-knocking, phone banking and work with synagogues and other community institutions.”

“People are incredibly worried and upset by the skyrocketing antisemitism across our country,” he said, noting that his group is not telling voters who to support. “The Jewish people are simply fighting for our right to survive.” State Rep. Stacey Newman, who is leading outreach efforts for the Bell campaign, said antisemitic protests have broken out sporadically in front of the campaign’s headquarters, further emboldening his supporters to feel good about Election Day and work into the evening. “I’ve never worked on a race where I had to think about mine and my staff’s safety every day or had to check in with a security advisor frequently,” Newman said. But, she added, “it only seems to motivate volunteers to keep showing up.”

NEW: Calls To Boycott NRA Explode After Group Endorses Democrat For Congress

The New Atlantis

The National Rifle Association is still struggling to right itself after its longtime chairman stepped aside amid federal investigations into its spending practices. In a sign that its political astuteness is still in doubt, the group endorsed a Democratic congresswoman for her reelection, drawing scorn from conservatives who would otherwise welcome pro-gun election-year activity.

Mary Peltola (D-Alaska) is the only Democrat the NRA will endorse in 2024, a rare accomplishment for the Alaskan lawmaker who is the first member of her party to earn the nod since 2020 when it backed Rep. Collin Peterson (D-MN). As the state’s sole member of Congress, Rep. Peltola claims she owns 176 long guns and dares “someone to tread on Alaskan freedoms,” The Hill reported. “Guns are an integral part of Alaska’s culture and our subsistence lifestyles,” Peltola said in a statement touting the endorsement. “Alaskan gun [owners] are the strongest proponents for responsible gun ownership. We pass down our knowledge and skills to our children.”

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

Since controversially beating former Gov. Sarah Palin in 2022, Rep. Peltola has been one of the few conservative Democrats in the U.S. House, straddling the fence between the Biden administration and a GOP majority. She votes with both about an equal amount, according to FiveThirtyEight. Randy Kozuch, who chairs the NRA’s political arm, praised all NRA-backed candidates for their shared promise to “support and defend the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms” no matter the candidates’ party affiliation. “In Congress, Representative Peltola has supported efforts to rein in overreach by the ATF, voted for legislation supporting the Second Amendment rights of veterans, and voted in favor of protecting traditional ammunition,” Kozuch said in a statement to The Hill. “Given her strong record of support for gun rights and law-abiding gun owners, NRA-PVF is proud to endorse Representative Peltola for re-election.”

Second Amendment conservatives were up in arms online, calling for the NRA to receive the “Bud Light treatment” and be canceled for failing to endorse one of Peltola’s Republican challengers, including Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom or Nick Begich, both of whom have raked in six-figure levels of donations in the past quarter. “Looks like it might be time to ‘Bud Light’ the @NRA. This is very disappointing,” one commentator wrote. A Veteran hunter echoed the call for a boycott. “NRA endorsement of a democrat. I’m pissed 🤬. I’ll not support NRA anymore. Boycott people.”

Two years ago, Rep. Peltola spent nearly $7 million to beat back a challenge by Palin, the GOP’s 2008 vice presidential candidate. She has already raised more than that sum this year, according to the Alaska Beacon, while her two lesser-known Republican rivals each carry less than $1 million on hand. The lawmaker is one of just five Democrats whose districts voted for President Trump in 2020, and outside groups are committed to spending heavily to oust a swing-district incumbent as both parties vie for control of a closely contested lower chamber.

This is very disappointing,” one commentator wrote. A Veteran hunter echoed the call for a boycott. “NRA endorsement of a democrat. I’m pissed . I’ll not support NRA anymore. Boycott people.” Looks like it might be time to “Bud Light” the @NRA. Famous Actor Enrages Hollywood, Says Trump Is ‘Absolutely’ As Good Of A President As Lincoln

The New Atlantis

Hollywood is split over the race for president, especially ever since George Clooney’s jaw-dropping op-ed demanding President Joe Biden drop out only weeks after Clooney and others hosted a star-studded fundraiser for his campaign. Now, one of the town’s most contrarian actors is speaking out to defend former President Donald Trump as he kicks off his second week against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Jon Voight, the four-time Oscar winner and staple of old Hollywood, urged his fellow thespians to rally behind Trump during an interview with Variety. The Western Journal reported that Voight, 85, also bemoaned the influence that far-left voices have had on his daughter Angelina Jolie, who has been outspoken against Israel in its war against Hamas. “She has been exposed to propaganda,” he said of his daughter’s activism. “She’s been influenced by anti-Semitic people.”

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

But it was his warm words about Trump that had reporter Stephen Rodrick describing Voight as “Hollywood’s most outspoken Trump supporter” and one who isn’t afraid to compare the former president’s four-year term to the Civil War-era presidency of Abraham Lincoln. “I ask him if he seriously thinks Trump is the equal of Abraham Lincoln in the pantheon of American presidents, as he has repeatedly stated,” Rodrick wrote. “Absolutely,” Voight responded. “Who else has faced greater challenges and enemies since Lincoln?”

The Yonkers, NY native also described his first time meeting Trump, then widely known in the city for his celebrity businessman persona. “It was at a party in New York in the 1990s,” Voight told Rodrick. “[Trump] came all the way across the room to tell me how much he loved one of my films. I was so impressed.” He added that his support wasn’t contingent on receiving the National Medal of Arts and the National Humanities Medal, which President Trump bestowed on him in 2020. “I don’t care about all that stuff,” Voight said. “I only have a few years left, and I want to spend them trying to save our American way of life,” which he claimed is “slipping away forever.”

Asked whether President Trump’s rhetoric contributed to a climate which cultivated the assassination attempt against him on July 13th, Voight reminder the reporter that such hate can’t be attributed to remarks by a single individual. “Well, that’s your opinion,” Voight told Rodrick. “I’m very careful about what I say. But when I see the attacks on this man, I know they’re coming from a hateful, evil place.”

“I’ve been the most outspoken supporter of Donald Trump in Hollywood, with pride,” he continued. “I’ve been saying he’s the answer, the only answer. Now, after this, maybe they will look at Jon Voight in a different way. If Donald Trump is being revealed in this way, maybe they will see a supporter like me in a different light.”
