Radio Host Gets FIRED After Exposing Biden Camp For Feeding Her Questions

The New Atlantis

A Philadelphia radio host has been fired after conducting a softball interview with President Joe Biden in the days after his debate performance, raising eyebrows and suspicions about whether she coordinated with his campaign to avoid tough questions.

Andrea Lawful-Sanders, who hosted a regular program on the urban radio station WURD, was placed on leave following an admission she made about accepting predetermined questions from the Biden campaign before conducting the interview. Hours after the uproar, which garnered national media attention, Lawful-Sanders was asked to resign, according to the New York Times. She explained the decision in a short Instagram video posted on Sunday. “It was accepted,” she said of her resignation. “I most sincerely wanted to thank the listening audience.”

Biden’s interview on the host’s “The Source” program was first highlighted in conservative media for the generously soft line of questioning Lawful-Sanders delivered. Appearing on CNN, she explained, “The questions were sent to me for approval. I approved them. I got several questions. Eight of them and the four that were chosen were the ones that I approved.”

WATCH:

WURD said in a statement that Lawful-Sanders’s “agreeing to a predetermined set of questions jeopardizes” the trust listeners place in its journalistic standards. Earl Ingram, the host of “The Earl Ingram Show,” which broadcasts on WAUK in Waukesha, Wisconsin, also confirmed to the AP that he was sent a nearly identical list of recommended questions by the Biden campaign before interviewing the president last week.

The interview first came to light because of a bizarre misstatement by President Biden that he was the “first Black woman” to serve as vice president, confusing his vice president, Kamala Harris, with his time as vice president in the Obama administration. “By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, the first black woman to serve with a black president,” he told Lawful-Sanders, according to the Western Journal.

LISTEN:

Sara Lomax, president and CEO of WURD Radio, said the station’s leadership was not aware of Lawful-Sanders’s coordination with the Biden campaign.

“On July 3, the first post-debate interview with President Joe Biden was arranged and negotiated independently by WURD Radio host Andrea Lawful-Sanders without knowledge, consultation or collaboration with WURD management,” the statement said. “The interview featured pre-determined questions provided by the White House, which violates our practice of remaining an independent media outlet accountable to our listeners. As a result, Ms. Lawful-Sanders and WURD Radio have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately. WURD Radio remains an independent voice that our audience can trust will hold elected officials accountable.”

“As Pennsylvania’s only independent Black-owned talk radio station, WURD Radio has cultivated that trust with our audience over our 20-year history. This is something we take very seriously. Agreeing to a pre-determined set of questions jeopardizes that trust and is not a practice that WURD Radio engages in or endorses as a matter of practice or official policy.”

A Biden spokesperson confirmed to the Times that the campaign will no longer offer recommended questions to media outlets in advance of an interview with the president.

Joe Rogan Laughs Hysterically At Clip Of Media Saying Biden Is ‘Sharper Than Ever’

A cackling Joe Rogan roasted Joe Scarborough earlier this week, playing a clip of the MSNBC host doing his best to defend President Joe Biden against an avalanche of criticism following last week’s debate.

The popular podcaster and comedian played the clip of Scarborough started his rant with an “F you” to the viewers “if you can’t handle it.”

“This version of Biden — intellectually, analytically — is the best Biden ever,” he said, causing Rogan to nearly fall out of his chair in a fit of laughter. “And these people say that Trump’s a liar!” joked his guest.

“We’re in a Coen brothers movie,” Rogan said after regaining his composure.

“I don’t know how many people tune in… but can you imagine watching after that,” the guest asked. “Yes, I’d wake and bake and let’s go,” Rogan joked.

WATCH:

While MSNBC’s defense of Biden over the final year of his term has always been robust, Scarborough and other staples of the network have been reduced to absurdum either when casting Biden’s record as a success or warning that Trump will put Americans in “cages” if he’s elected again. In April, host Ana Cabrera predicted a potential nominee for a Trump Justice Department would make America a “banana republic.” Declaring she doesn’t “think anyone is safe,” Rachel Maddow openly worried during an interview in June that a newly empowered President Trump would throw her into a concentration camp.

“I’m worried about the country broadly if we put someone in power who is openly avowing that he plans to build camps to hold millions of people, and to ‘root out’ what he’s described in subhuman terms as his ‘enemy from within.’ Again, history is helpful here. He’s not joking when he says this stuff, and we’ve seen what happens when people take power proclaiming that kind of agenda. I think there’s a little bit of head-in-the-sand complacency that Trump only intends to go after individual people he has already singled out. Do you really think he plans to stop at well-known liberals?” Maddow asked CNN’s Olivia Darcy.

At times the hysteria has turned MSNBC hosts against one another. Shortly after Biden’s disastrous debate performance, Scarborough sniped with his co-host and wife Mike Brzezinski as they fumed about just how bad Biden’s situation has become. The following day, he was noticeably absent from his chair as Brzezinski hosted the program by herself.

REVOLT? Biden Staff Goes Public With Complaints, Compares White House to ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’

The New Atlantis

Just over a week after President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance, members of the administration are anonymously revolting in the press, comparing the roiled workplace to the famous comedy “Weekend at Bernie’s” about a family that pretends to keep their dead uncle alive through a getaway weekend.

Axios scooped the staffers’ admissions, which offer candid assessments about their boss’s chances in November and where they think his top advisors went wrong. “Everyone is miserable, and senior advisers are a total black hole,” a White House official told the outlet. “Even if you’re trying to focus on work, nothing is going to break through or get any acknowledgment” from bosses. A high-ranking official at the Democratic National Committee added, “The only thing that can really allay concerns is for the president to demonstrate that he’s capable of running this campaign.”

“Everything else feels like ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ by his inner circle to prop him up,” the person added.

fVOTE NOW: Are You In Favor Of Term Limits For All Members Of Congress?

Central to the criticism is a feeling that top advisors, including Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini, the first lady’s top adviser Anthony Bernal, and longtime aide Ashley Williams, formed a protective cocoon around the president at a time when he should have been accepting a wide array of opinions about how to right the ship. Some of those who spoke with Axios claimed to have seen or heard members of the trio stepping in during the president’s senior moments, reminding him about people he has known for years.

One former Biden aide told Axios: “Annie, Ashley and Anthony create a protective bubble around POTUS. He’s staffed so closely that he’s lost all independence. POTUS relies on staff to nudge him with reminders of who he’s meeting, including former staffers and advisers who Biden should easily remember without a reminder from Annie.”

White House spokesman Andrew Bates dismissed the fears as “anonymous sniping,” saying that it’s not unusual for presidents to rely on a small, trusted team of advisors. “These are standard processes for any White House, regardless of president or party. The claims about these individuals — whose professionalism and character are respected across the administration — are inaccurate.”

“This is a team with experience keeping the faith as we helped earn the strongest record in modern history, and our focus is not on anonymous sniping,” Bates added.

Even as the number of sitting members of Congress or influential Democrats calling for Biden to quit his campaign continues to grow, the president’s team has deployed surrogates who push the narrative that he has a strong record to run on and that a single debate performance shouldn’t serve as a referendum. “90 minutes doesn’t define a presidency. President Biden has given us 3½ years of extraordinary accomplishments and he made clear to every Democratic staffer who’s working to get him re-elected that he’s all in for four more,” DNC Executive Director Sam Cornale said in a statement to the outlet.

Campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz added that “there’s an immense sense of pride across our office.”

Biden Says He’s ‘First Black Woman To Serve With Black President’ In Bizarre Gaffe

The New Atlantis

Another gaffe by President Joe Biden is keeping the wheels of his campaign off the tracks just hours before he conducts a major crisis interview to save his chances of a second term.

The slip-of-the-tongue was a seriously bizarre one and occurred while Biden was being interviewed on one of Philadelphia’s largest urban radio stations. During an extended soliloquy about his championing of Black causes, the verbally vexed Democrat stepped in it once again, calling himself the “first black woman to serve with a black president,” according to the New York Post.

VOTE NOW: Do you blame BIDEN or TRUMP for the crashing economy?

The statement appeared to be a messy amalgam of references to his time as vice president under President Obama and his selection of Kamala Harris to serve as his own VP. “By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, first black woman, to serve with a black president,” he told host Andrea Lawful-Sanders.

LISTEN:

Over the past week, President Biden has blitzed key battleground states like Pennsylvania where he trails former President Donald Trump by an average of 2.4%, according to FiveThirtyEight, granting extended interviews with local media as he seeks to shore up key Democratic voting blocs. National polls since last week’s disastrous debate have shown President Trump gaining ground — not just in traditional swing states but also those that have trended firmly blue in presidential elections, including Minnesota and New Hampshire.

Ammar Moussa, Biden’s “director of rapid response,” ripped a headline by the New York Times about the stumble. “This is absurd. It was abundantly clear what the president meant. This would be considered a perfectly normal speech pattern for any other person in America, and has certainly been normal for Joe Biden for his entire career,” he wrote on X.

Elsewhere in the interview, President Biden pandered to Black voters by highlighting a number of moves or initiatives he’s made or taken over the past three and a half years. He claimed to understand the struggle of Black Americans for representation, saying he felt similarly when President John F. Kennedy became the first Catholic to be elected to the office.

“I looked at John Kennedy and said, ‘Well, he — John — he got elected. Why can’t I get elected?’” Biden said. “People need things to look up to.”

The president also highlighted his selection of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, saying her nomination would one day inspire “a young girl who is in school and having trouble.”

The gaffe is another cudgel for Republicans to wield as they insist the Democratic president has lost steam since running a 2020 campaign that largely kept him confined to his “basement,” the GOP and President Trump mockingly claimed at the time. Biden’s penchant for misstatements may be unprecedented in the modern era: from referring to the Congressional Black Caucus as the “Hispanic Caucus,” to claiming his administration plans to build a railroad across the Pacific Ocean, the seemingly endless well of utterances has badly impacted Biden’s image of appearing fit to maintain his job.

JUST IN: Jobs Report is a Train Wreck for Biden

The New Atlantis

The latest jobs numbers out of the U.S. Labor Department are a troubling sign that the economy and unemployed Americans are still reeling from the effects of Bidenomics.

According to Friday’s number, unemployment has ticked up to 4.1% according to the Wall Street Journal, signaling some slack among employers in the face of high interest rates. The Labor Department also reported that 206,000 jobs were added in June, though observers expect to see that number revised downward in the months ahead. On X, the Kobeissi Letter, which tracks movements in global markets, highlighted the agency’s tendency to downwardly revise jobs reports weeks or months after they are released to initial fanfare.

CAST YOUR VOTE: Should Voter ID Be Mandatory In The 2024 Election?

For example, figures for April and May were both revised downward by approximately 111,000 fewer jobs than first reported. The change is the latest in 10 of the past 15 jobs reports, a sign that expectations are struggling to meet reality and that President Biden’s economists are quick to tout gains that later deteriorate upon closer inspection.

The Kobeissi Letter further added that, in net terms, the U.S. economy only added 95,000 jobs this month while the Journal pointed out that hourly earnings reached their lowest rate of increase since 2021. At the same time, the labor force participation rate has ticked up, indicating that more working-age Americans are seeking jobs at a time employers are hitting pause on new hires.

Officials at the Federal Reserve continue to closely monitor the overall health of the economy. Last month chairman Jerome Powell held interest rates steady, declaring that markets are not ready to absorb the energy that lower rates would bring to hiring and consumer spending, which remains elevated. Liberals such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) have accused the Fed chair of halting economic progress by refusing to lower rates while critics have accused Warren and supporters of the administration of seeking to hastily reduce rates in order to help Biden’s reelection chances.

President Biden is largely powerless to enact his agenda or otherwise influence the economy while he remains fettered by widespread fear that he may not continue his campaign. On Friday, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos will interview Biden for his first sit-down since a disastrous debate last week against President Trump, one which network executives worry may be limited to just 15 minutes by the president’s handlers. A source close to the president told the New York Times that Biden is giving serious consideration to dropping out, with the person warning that further missteps could spell an irreversible turn of fortune. Others in the Democratic Party, including former President Barack Obama, have voiced their concern and suggested that Biden step aside to allow for a younger, more pugnacious candidate to take his place on the ballot in November.

Comedian Tony Knight was killed last month after falling victim to a “tragic accident” during a visit to France, according to his family

The 54-year-old was with his wife and children at the Rock’&’Cars Festival in Lavaur, France when a large tree branch broke off and fell on him and several other festival attendees. Knight was the only one to pass away from his injuries.

“He was only 54 and having the time of his life,” his family shared with Fox News. “He was fit, healthy, happy and had everything going for him. He was charismatic, funny, passionate and so very loved by [his partner] Hayley, his family and his friends all over the world.”

A GoFundMe page has been launched by Joanne Allen on behalf of her sister and Knight’s wife, Haley Knight.

“Hayley is now living her worst nightmare and facing life without Tony, her soulmate,” Allen wrote on the fundraiser. “She is in Bouillac having to deal with the difficulties of Tony being an Englishman with Australian residency living in France, arranging a funeral, covering hospital expenses, meeting police detectives, doctors and the mayor, visiting the accident site and sorting Tony’s estate, all while experiencing a crushing amount of grief and disbelief in a foreign country.”

In addition to his work on the comedy circuit, Knight lavished his love on canines. Known as the “Dog Listener,” the Washington, D.C. native described himself on his website as having “helped thousands of dog owners all over the world solve problem dog behavior with simple techniques that use no force, pain, domination, drugs or gadgets.”

Just weeks earlier, Knight was in San Francisco, sharing a picture of the famous Alcatraz prison and joking, “The White House is getting an interesting new make-over.” Some of his final appearances were in Edinburg, Scotland and Australia as part of his “Mad Dogs & an Englishman” tour.

The New Atlantis

Liberal comedian Rosie O’Donnell etched a deep grimace on her face in a video message to supporters on Tuesday, urging them to “hold on” after the Supreme Court ruled that sitting presidents enjoy sweeping immunity from criminal charges.

Before taking a break to feed her backyard squirrels, O’Donnell lamented the court’s decision but said that anti-Trumpers should look for silver linings.

“Listen, I’m depressed myself, but I’m trying to tell you out there if you are, you’ve gotta hold on. We’ve survived all of the depressing days so far. We’ll survive this one. Reach out for your friends for help. Tell the people that you love how you feel… and, um, know that this country I believe is gonna right itself and oust [Trump] for good in November. Boy, I pray,” she told her followers on TikTok.

Since largely leaving Hollywood behind, O’Donnell has fashioned herself into a forceful critic of President Trump, occasionally appearing on cable news to excoriate the Republican leader for a litany of perceived offenses she claims should disqualify him from office. In April she sat opposite Bill O’Reilly during an appearance on Chris Cuomo’s NewsNation program where she called for “unity” following the election, prompting O’Reilly to fire back that she has done nothing but sow division since Trump was first elected.

“I agree with you [Bill] and I think that no matter who wins in November, this country has a lot of healing to do. We have to forgive each other for our trespasses and our misconceptions. And then try to reunite as one country, united, and that’s the dangerous thing that’s happening when I say, Chris, Democracy is on trial. It’s because without this, we’re nothing as a nation. We have to get everyone back together again in some way,” O’Donnell told Cuomo and O’Reilly according to the Daily Caller.

The veiled slight against Trump was picked up by O’Reilly.

“Okay, but Rosie with all due respect, you’re not going to be successful saying ‘democracy is on trial’ and anybody who supports Donald Trump is a fascist. You’re not. I mean those people are going to reject you 100% because there’s a lot more to it than you are presenting,” O’Reilly stated.

A timeline of the Trump-O’Donnell feud compiled by CNN dates back to 2006 when the then-“View” host criticized the billionaire for refusing to dismiss a Miss America contestant over drug use. He is “not a self-made man,” O’Donnell claimed at the time, but a “snake-oil salesman on Little House On The Prairie.”
Trump quickly responded, calling O’Donnell a “loser” and “a woman out of control.”

BREAKING: Alvin Bragg Caves, Agrees To Delay Trump Sentencing

The New Atlantis

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg appears ready to throw in the towel on a speedy sentencing in former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial, indicating in a filing on Tuesday that he would not oppose a request by defense attorneys to push a scheduled hearing past next week.

Since his conviction, President Trump was expected to be sentenced on July 11th, a date that now appears in jeopardy following the Supreme Court’s bombshell ruling which declared sitting presidents are essentially immune from all official acts taken in office. The decision on Monday prompted a speedy motion by lead defense attorney Todd Blanche to push a sentencing hearing later into the summer while Judge Juan Merchan considers their motion to overturn the conviction on 34 felony counts. With both sides in agreement, it appears likely a delay will occur, the New York Times reported.

CAST YOUR VOTE: Should Voter ID Be Mandatory In The 2024 Election?

In response to a letter from Trump’s lawyers, the district attorney’s office wrote that the defense had filed a motion worthy of consideration by Merchan. “Although we believe defendant’s arguments to be without merit, we do not oppose his request for leave to file and his putative request to adjourn sentencing pending determination of his motion,” wrote Joshua Steinglass, one of the assistant district attorneys who tried the case against the former president. Trump’s lawyers have indicated they plan to file their court papers on July 10th, one day before the scheduled sentencing, and prosecutors said they would respond two weeks later, the outlet reported.

Blanche and his team have argued that prosecutors introduced evidence in the trial that would be precluded under the Supreme Court’s recent ruling, according to The Hill, setting up a potential reevaluation of the entire trial. President Trump was convicted of overseeing the falsification of business records to hide a six-figure settlement with an adult film star to hide rumors of an affair that Trump has denied. During the trial, Bragg’s team framed the payment as an unlawful attempt to influence the 2016 election, though lawyers for the Republican noted that an investigation by the Federal Election Commission previously found that the payment did not qualify as a campaign expense.

The Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision will vastly expand the powers of the presidency and has prompted a reckoning among the former president’s opponents about what Trump could be capable of if he returns to the White House. Writing for the majority, Chief Justice John Roberts reasoned that a president should be unfettered from the possibility of criminal prosecution in order to carry out his duties. However, non-official acts could be considered for criminality, he added.

“The President therefore may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled, at a minimum, to a presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts,” the majority opinion written by Chief Justice John Roberts states. “That immunity applies equally to all occupants of the Oval Office, regardless of politics, policy, or party.”

Liberal Historian Bizarrely Blames CNN For Highlighting Biden’s Horrible Debate Performance

The New Atlantis

Allan Lichtman, the historian famous for accurately prediction presidential elections over the years, sounded like a Biden surrogate during a recent appearance on CNN, accusing the network of allowing former President Donald Trump to “lie” and “con” his way back to the presidency.

Lichtman, who teaches at American University, summarized the media’s coverage of the debate as unfairly focused on President Joe Biden’s stumbling performance while letting his opponent off the hook for making false or inflated claims about his record and positions.

VOTE NOW: Do you blame BIDEN or TRUMP for the crashing economy?

“I love you guys in the media, but I have to say you are complicit in Donald Trump lying and conning his way to the presidency,” Lichtman said in a clip spotted by the Daily Caller. “All the attention has been on Biden’s faltering debate. But Donald Trump’s debate was vastly worse. It was based entirely on lies. More than 30 significant lies. That’s one lie for about every one minute and 20 and 30 seconds. He threatened our democracy by saying he wouldn’t accept necessarily the results of a fair election.” By doing so, he added, CNN is assisting “in Donald Trump gaslighting his way to the presidency and threatening our democracy.”

“He said he would seek retribution. Why wasn’t that the headline? Why wasn’t that the greatest concern from the debate rather than all the focus on Joe Biden?” he continued. “There’s an old saying: ‘It’s not just the evil people who wreak havoc on the world. It’s the good people who don’t do enough to stop them.’ And the media right now is complicit in Donald Trump gaslighting his way to the presidency and threatening our democracy.”

WATCH:

Left unsaid by Lichtman was the agreement by most mainstream media outlets that Biden is wholly unprepared to face Trump in November, let alone survive another grueling four-year term in office at the age of 81. The New York Times, New Yorker, Chicago Tribune, and Atlanta Constitution-Journal are among a slew prominent newspapers across the country that have called on Biden to suspend his campaign and allow the Democratic Party to nominate an alternate before it is too late. Surrogates for Biden, including former Democratic National Committee Chair and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), have suggested the consternation over Biden’s debate performance is only among coastal “elites,” prompting a sharp rebuke by CNN host John Berman.

“I just don’t think that’s true, congresswoman … I just think that anyone who was anywhere this weekend, talking to anybody, the subject of discussion was the debate and was President Biden’s performance. I don’t think that that discussion is only members of Congress,” Berman replied on Monday.

Biden Ironically Accuses Media Of Election Interference After Calls For Him To Drop Out

A prominent swing state newspaper calling for President Joe Biden to drop out of the race is being maligned by one of his top advisors who on Monday essentially accused the outlet of election interference.

The Atlanta Constitution-Journal, the city’s largest paper, called on the elderly Democrat to drop out of the race for the White House, prompting former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to issue a stern rebuke. Bottoms is now a senior local advisor to Biden.

VOTE NOW: Are You In Favor Of Term Limits For All Members Of Congress?

“We have talked about making sure we’re protecting elections and making sure there’s no undue influence, this was undue influence by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution or an attempt to influence,” Bottoms said in response to the paper’s editorial titled “It’s Time to Pass the Torch.”

“Editorial boards are supposed to honor fair elections. I don’t think it’s fair when an editorial board with ten people sitting in a room are trying to influence an election, especially in a state like Georgia where there’s already been discussions about influencing elections.”

Bottoms added that she never saw the Constitution-Journal call for former President Donald Trump to step down after he asked state officials to “find” enough votes to change the outcome of the 2020 election. “So if you’re going to ask a candidate to step aside, let’s also look at Donald Trump’s record and all of the reasons, including his indictment in Fulton County, trying to influence the secretary of state, his convictions.”

WATCH:

In its editorial, the Constitution-Journal summed up Biden’s dismal debate in three sentences. “This wasn’t a bad night. It was confirmation of the worst fears of some of Biden’s most ardent supporters. Biden deserves a better exit in public life than the one he endured when he shuffled off the stage on Thursday night.” The paper was joined by others, including the New York Times, New Yorker, and Chicago Tribune who also called for Biden to step aside, according to the Post Millennial. The Times editorial prompted Biden’s campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond to fire back, “The last time Joe Biden lost the New York Times editorial board’s endorsement it turned out pretty well for him,” a reference to the president’s winning the Democratic primary in 2020.

Following Thursday’s debate, President Biden departed for Camp David where he met privately with his family over the future of his reelection bid, according to media reports. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden has reportedly shielded her husband from aides and allies who continue to suggest that he step aside for the good of the country, while first son Hunter Biden has insisted his father stay in the race. The Biden campaign reported receiving more than $38 million in donations following the two-hour performance where the president was criticized for delivering meandering answers with a sluggish demeanor and failing to forcefully respond to assertions by Trump that he considered lies.
