Dar Global added the venture would cater to the “luxury Saudi Arabian market and international investors.”

The sudden news builds on a previous announcement that Dar Global and the Trump Organization would be partnering on the construction of a $500 million Trump International hotel complex in Oman, another relatively peaceful Middle Eastern nation that shares a lengthy border with Saudia Arabia. The five-star hotel, set for completion in 2028, promises a nightclub, golf course and members-only club. The Trump name and logo will be affixed to the property, Dar Al Arkan confirmed to the outlet.

Watchdog groups have already cited the pending projects as areas of potential conflict if President Trump were to win another four-year term.

“The Trump Organization’s continued pursuit of foreign business projects raises perilous national security, corruption and constitutional concerns,” Donald K. Sherman, senior vice president and chief counsel at the Citizens for Responsibility & Ethics in Washington (CREW), told CNN in a statement. “This is particularly true of their development in Saudi Arabia, whose government has a long history of apparently seeking to influence Donald Trump. If Trump were to return to the presidency, he would likely violate the Foreign Emoluments Clause of the Constitution, as he did repeatedly in his first term in office.”

CREW previously found that President Trump made at least $9.6 million off his Middle East properties during his four years in office. The Republican has maintained his distance from the Trump Organization’s day-to-day operations, instead entrusting his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. to do what they think is best for the family brand.

The timing of the announcement is good news, considering a legal ruling in New York state earlier this year that the Trump Organization artificially inflated the value of its assets to leverage favorable loan terms with banks. President Trump, who attended most of the trial, has accused state Attorney General Letitia James of unfairly targeting him and seeking to dismantle the company he inherited from his father.

Rather than confront the problem head-on, the White House employed a strategy to keep Biden from falling in public, sending him up a smaller set of stairs to Air Force One and insisting he wear dressy black sneakers with a high-grip sole to keep his feet underneath him.

Aside from sparse moments of liveliness pointed to by supporters who spoke with the AP, the majority of the story focused on Biden’s private and public struggles and his team’s efforts to limit his unscripted interactions with the media.
