IDs for a rally? Remember when Harris said rural voters were incapable of getting IDs?

Kamala Harris, the vice president of the United States and Democratic nominee for president, thinks rural voters are too dumb to get IDs. More specifically, she believes that rural voters aren’t able to obtain copies of their IDs because they are hicks who live too far from the civilized world — a civilized world that has Kinkos and photocopy machines. Harris didn’t come right out and say this, mind you, but it is relatively obvious that she meant it if one read between the lines of her comments from July 2021.

While promoting false and baseless narratives as to why voter ID laws were oppressive and unfair during an interview with BET News, Harris elaborated on her reasoning with a, well, weird justification.

“I don’t think that we should underestimate what that [voter ID laws] could mean,” Harris said during the interview. “Because in some people’s mind that means you’re going to have to Xerox or photocopy your ID to send it in to prove who you are. Well, there are a whole lot of people, especially people who live in rural communities, who don’t — there’s no Kinkos, there’s no OfficeMax near them.”

Harris went even further with her comments, claiming rural people couldn’t get such copies of their IDs. It made about as much sense as her first comment.

“Of course, people have to prove who they are,” Harris added, but “not in a way that makes it almost impossible for them to prove who they are.”

This is a pretty ignorant statement for anyone living in the country to make in the 2020s, let alone the vice president of the United States. To claim that rural people in the country are so technologically regressed that they are unable to make copies is indicative of someone who is completely out of touch with reality. This is especially troubling when this person is running for president.

Furthermore, like most of what Democrats say regarding ID laws, her words are incredibly hypocritical. This is especially true given the recent revelation that Harris is holding a rally Thursday in Arizona, and to be admitted into the event, one must present one’s identification.

Is Harris not expecting any rural people to attend? Clearly, with Harris, it is “ID law for me, but not for thee” — or, at the very least, not for rural people. It’s yet another example of the kind of malicious deception with which Democrats pollute the country.

If Democrats such as Harris didn’t have double standards, they would have no standards. The left-wing outrage over voter identification was always just performative politics. Democrats incited division and hysteria by falsely claiming there was a racist angle to it and that the push for voter ID was some sort of suppression. However, the fact that Harris’s rally requires identification to enter rejects every claim Democrats have ever made about voter ID.

Democrats were lying when they claimed voter ID was a race issue. It never was. The faux outrage about voter ID was always a power issue. Harris and the Democrats knew they could weaponize race regarding voter ID and use it to manipulate voters into feeling aggrieved and oppressed without any consequences or repercussions. They do this because they have nothing else to offer voters. Lying, deception, and manipulation are all agents of chaos that Democrats need to win elections.

No real, true conservative Republican could ever vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz thumbnail

No real, true conservative Republican could ever vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz

The Democratic ticket for the 2024 presidential election may very well be the most aggressive, radically left-wing ticket in the nation’s history. The political principles and ideologies of Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) have more in common with acolytes of the sickle and hammer than the stars and stripes. From Walz’s “no guarantee to free speech” to Harris’s much-maligned border policies to both supporting violent political activists who rioted, looted, and burned cities, to supporting the murder of innocent children in the womb, to the disturbing trend of radical gender ideology, their values are dangerously far left.

And given these left-wing values, it would be impossible for any true conservative Republican to support Harris and Walz. Yet, that is what happened last week, when a cadre of Never Trump Republicans tripped over themselves rushing to express their solidarity and support for Harris and Walz. However, while such people believed they were making a political statement about their hatred for former President Donald Trump by essentially sticking it to him, in reality, they showed they were never truly conservative Republicans to begin with.

Hating the fact that Trump is the Republican nominee for president wouldn’t cause drastic ideological shifts in one’s values. For example, if one were pro-life, he or she wouldn’t suddenly support candidates who are in favor of abortion rights as a misguided response to Trump’s political ascension and candidacy. In this instance, people either believe aborting lives in the womb is murder and support like-minded candidates, or they never did and could vote for candidates such as Harris and Walz.

As such, whether it is abortion or any of the other rogue political issues supported by Democrats, genuine conservatives and Republicans could never, under any circumstances, support the abortion policies of Harris and Walz. It would be impossible, as what most conservative Republicans believe regarding abortion compared to what Harris and Walz believe are polar opposites. And given the highly radical position of Harris and Walz on abortion, true conservatives and Republicans would have to legitimately abandon all of their social values to vote for this Democratic ticket.

The same could be said about many, if not all, of the issues Democrats support. No true conservative Republican supports suppressing free speech the way Walz does. No real Republican could vote for a candidate who failed at border security the way Harris did, which led to the death of innocent women such as Laken Riley. No genuine conservative could cast a vote for candidates who enabled left-wing activists to riot, loot, and endanger the safety of innocent people and communities.

If a conservative and Republican voter doesn’t like Trump, then she doesn’t have to vote for him. But then she should maintain her conservative values and not abandon all integrity and support and vote for candidates whose beliefs run counter to her own. Anyone who did would betray her core values, that is, unless she never had such core values. And that would be the only reason such a person could vote for Harris and Walz.

If these people were who they claimed they were and believed what they claimed to believe in, none of them could even think about voting for such dangerously far-left politicians as Harris and Walz. They were never Republicans or conservatives. They were just always opportunists.

If Trump lets Democrats bait him, he will lose

Democrats are baiting former President Donald Trump, and unfortunately, he is falling for the trap again. The former president seems to have resumed his long-established frustrating habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in his presidential campaign. I write this as someone who is voting for Trump and has supported Trump in his last two campaigns.

This is the third time Trump has been nominated as the Republican nominee for president. Yet, with this historical feat, one would think he would have learned from his past mistakes and stopped repeatedly falling for the Democrats’ political tricks. Unfortunately, he doesn’t and commits numerous unforced errors that threaten his chance at victory. For example, take the recent controversy surrounding Trump’s comments regarding Vice President Kamala Harris

Recently, Trump has called to question Harris promoting herself and identifying as a black woman. It’s a dumb and foolish path to go down. First, absolutely nothing good can come from it. Second, it’s a waste of time, energy, coverage, and resources because, of all the current problems in the country and all of the grievances listed by voters, none of them has anything to do with Harris’s ethnicity. People are experiencing real problems.

But if Trump doesn’t shift his focus, he is going to lose the election.

However, exposing Harris’s political record would help persuade undecided voters. Harris is the politician who helped raise money for an organization that helped keep violent criminals out of jail. She was the one Biden tasked with “tackling the migration issue at the border.” But instead of solving the problem, the situation only worsened. People continued to suffer, including innocent women such as Laken Riley, a slain nursing student in Georgia who was allegedly killed by an illegal immigrant.

Does anyone think Laken Riley’s family cares about Harris’s ethnic background? How about anyone else victimized by illegal immigrant crime? Of course not. These are the kinds of things that Trump should focus on. Continuing this pointless and misguided crusade on Harris’s race and ethnicity will accomplish nothing.

In an era when America is reeling from the policies of the Biden-Harris administration, a time frame during which tens of millions of residents suffered from the lingering effects of rampant inflation, high gas prices, utility bills, grocery purchases, the substantial increase in violent crime, and an overall deterioration in the quality of life, Trump doesn’t need to concern himself with Harris’s ethnicity. Consider this a plea to Trump to do the right thing and focus on what really matters. Millions of other people such as myself want to see Trump victorious, not watch him make the same mistakes that cause him to lose for a second time.

Just a few weeks ago, Trump was on top and favored in the presidential election — something most political pundits did not think he could do. He enjoyed a wave of momentum that coincided with President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance and the sympathy, empathy, and admiration that followed after the assassination attempt on his life. Less than a month later, all that goodwill and buzz around him has evaporated.

It’s simple: Attack Harris on any of her numerous vulnerabilities and the political reality that she is woefully inept and a horrible candidate with a record that highlights her incompetence and failures. It would behoove Trump to stop losing focus and get with the program.

National Italian American Foundation condemns vandalism of Columbus statue

The initiative and courage of the National Italian American Foundation should be recognized today, as the organization wasted no time in condemning the disgraceful vandalism of the Christopher Columbus Memorial Fountain near Union Station in Washington, D.C.

The Hamas-supporting agitators who have been terrorizing the country in recent months struck again this week. These disgraceful hooligans regularly abuse and miscite the country’s First Amendment to engage in acts of intimidation, violence, and destruction. They are criminal miscreants who take advantage of the country’s liberties and thrive in its indulgence. Defacing the Columbus statue was not an exercise of speech, but of vandalism, which is rightly illegal.

“Hamas is comin,” one of the agitators wrote on the statue in spray paint. The offensive support of a terrorist group is an egregious act in and of itself. The fact that the Columbus fountain was collateral damage warrants accountability. Moreover, Columbus statues and monuments have been vandalized and destroyed far too often due to left-wing political violence.

Too many of the people in power have remained quiet regarding the attacks on Columbus. Others have intrinsically supported, if not encouraged, such actions. Little was done to prevent this most recent act or hold the people who committed this destruction accountable and bring them to justice. Thankfully, the National Italian American Foundation spoke up to denounce the most recent anti-Columbus vandalism.

“The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) strongly condemns the recent acts of vandalism and desecration that occurred yesterday at Columbus Plaza near Union Station in Washington, D.C.,” the organization said in a press release. “A group of protesters, aligned with pro-Hamas sentiments, defaced the statue of Christopher Columbus and burned an American flag. These actions not only disrespect a significant historical figure for Italian Americans but also desecrate a symbol of our nation’s values and freedoms.”

Columbus is an important historical figure in the Italian American community, but also to humanity. Despite recent left-wing initiated historical revisionism, he is unquestionably one of the most important historical figures in human civilization. His daring and daunting voyages, expeditions, and discoveries helped change the world. His legacy has been tarnished by those subscribing to a Howard Zinn-inspired vision of history. The truth, though, remains: Columbus helped open up the entire Western Hemisphere to Europe’s thriving civilization while advancing human knowledge of our world.

NIAF President Robert Allegrini also commented on the vandalism of the 112-year-old monument.

“We are deeply disturbed by these destructive acts,” Allegrini said. “The defacement of the Columbus statue and the burning of the American flag are not forms of protected speech but acts of vandalism that undermine civil discourse and mutual respect in our diverse society.”

The First Amendment does not protect destruction or violence. It states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” None of this is what happened at the Columbus fountain in the latest episode of the repeated left-wing political violence in the country over the last decade. The kind of violence that seems to regularly go unchecked and result in little, if any, accountability.

Trump should ditch JD Vance thumbnail

Trump should ditch JD Vance

A wise man once said, “To make no mistakes is not in the power of man, but from their errors and mistakes, the wise and good learn wisdom for the future.”

With this sentiment, consider this a plea for former President Donald Trump to move on from Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH). I write this as someone who supported Trump in 2016 and 2020 and will vote for him in November. But I implore him, please, ditch Vance. It pains me to say this, especially given the Left’s recent attacks, but there is a difference between surrendering to left-wing attacks and acknowledging a political reality. Having Vance as a running mate could legitimately cost Trump the election, as evidenced by recent polls.

Granted, Democrats, the Left, and those in the media would dig up dirt and demonize anyone Trump would choose. So probably all polls would be bad. After all, these are the group of people currently advancing the idea that Trump was not shot during the assassination attempt. So, admittedly, he can do no right in the eyes of his opponents. Trump could select Jesus as his running mate, and Democrats and others on the Left would label him an insurrectionist who destroyed tables in temples and associated with lepers, and as an alcoholic who used water to make wine.

Nevertheless, Vance seems particularly awful.

I have always felt Vance was a poor selection. There were things I liked about him, such as his service in the Marines and his story of going from poverty to the U.S. Senate. His speech at the convention was rather good, even better than Trump’s. I freely admit that it helped change my opinion of him slightly. But the very thing that made me like him more is the exact reason why he is so problematic: his mouth.

Vance brings nothing to Trump’s ticket and does little to expand his base. No independent voter looks at Vance and thinks, “I am going to vote Republican now.” Whereas someone might look at Vance, listen to his previous anti-Trump comments, and agree with them.

As more videos surface of his previous comments criticizing Trump, it is abundantly clear that Vance will do more to harm Trump’s reelection chances than help him, which is one of the vice presidential nominee’s primary political objectives. Much better choices remain.

It’s well known that Vance is on record of being critical of Trump. Such words raise numerous questions about whether Vance changed his mind or is just a political opportunist. His previous comments about Trump are considerably damning.

Having an epiphany and changing one’s mind about someone is one thing. Plenty of people have legitimately done that regarding Trump. It’s another thing entirely to have videos criticizing the former president with rhetoric that rivals notorious opponents such as the Lincoln Project.

From Vance previously labeling himself a Never Trumper to apparently comparing Trump to Hitler, to calling Trump a habitual liar and insinuating that he believed Trump committed sexual assault, Vance was particularly scathing about the former president. I have absolutely no experience in making political ads, but even I could develop one that would be devastating to Trump.

“Even Trump’s running mate thinks he sexually assaulted women.” Roll clip. Repeat on every channel from now until Nov. 5. Boom. Done.

That’s not even taking into consideration Vance’s recently unearthed comments at the center of his latest controversy. Vance is on video being hypercritical of childless women, dubbing them childless cat ladies, and suggesting that people who have children should somehow have more voting power or authority than those who don’t. Trump knows he struggled with the suburban female vote, right?

“When you go to the polls in this country as a parent, you should have more power, you should have more of an ability to speak your voice in our democratic republic than people who don’t have kids,” Vance said. “Let’s face the consequences and the reality. If you don’t have as much of an investment in the future of this country, maybe you shouldn’t get nearly the same voice.”

Hey, everybody, meet J.D. Vance, the pride of Yale Law School, with a winning political strategy! Or, rather, not winning. These comments are just asinine and ignorant. Even George Washington, father of our country, would have taken umbrage with Vance’s words given that he did not have any biological children of his own.

Who vetted this guy, one of Barron Trump’s high school classmates?

Don’t get me wrong, Trump could still conceivably win with Vance as his running mate. After the last month in politics, it’s evident that quite literally anything is possible. However, having him on the ticket, as opposed to, say, someone such as Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), or Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA), will make any victory of his much more difficult than it needs to be. And, if Trump does win, it will be despite Vance, not because of him.

Trump has a long, established history of making poor personnel decisions. Vance is arguably the latest one. The former president faces enough resistance and challenges with the everyday rigors and obstacles of a Republican candidate running for president in this country. He is competing against the Democratic political machine, Republicans who dislike him, Hollywood, the left-wing aristocracy, the global network of the political Left, communists, socialists, and all of their accomplices in the legacy media.

No, Hillary Clinton, you didn’t pave the way for Kamala Harris

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton continues to show signs of disappointment after losing to Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election eight years ago. The former senator and secretary of state has lamented her loss for years now, mentioning her failed political campaign on many occasions. Unsurprisingly, she channeled her political nostalgia again in a New York Times op-ed, referencing her campaign and political experience while endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.

As the Washington Examiner previously reported, Clinton credited herself while discussing Harris’s candidacy, with the odd, self-congratulatory claim that she was a political pioneer who paved the way for Harris. It is the kind of narcissistic, self-absorbed comment people have come to expect from Clinton. How self-centered must one be to credit oneself for another woman running for president?

This ignores the reality of what just happened in the Democratic Party. Not one Democratic voter in the country voted for Harris to be the nominee. The Democratic Party pulled off what many consider an unethical switcheroo, and Harris was essentially installed as a candidate.

After lamenting the so-called sexism that Clinton claimed is prevalent in the country’s political structure, despite numerous polls showing that former first lady Michelle Obama enjoyed much support as a hypothetical presidential candidate, Clinton said, “My two presidential campaigns made it seem normal to have a woman at the top of the ticket.”

“I know a thing or two about how hard it can be for strong women candidates to fight through the sexism and double standards of American politics,” Clinton wrote. She followed it up with, once again, her regrets of not being able to put together a successful presidential campaign.

“It still pains me that I couldn’t break that highest, hardest glass ceiling,” Clinton wrote.

Though seemingly every Democrat in the country has used inflammatory and vitriolic language to vilify Trump and Clinton essentially labeled half the voting population “deplorable,” she then bemoaned the fact that people called her a “nasty woman” and blamed such insults on “sexism.”

Here is the truth: Clinton was not some pioneer. She was part of a corrupt political system that, given the events within the last week, revealed it would do anything to obtain power. She is a cantankerous woman with questionable ethics who craves political prestige, influence, attention, and the spotlight. She is a failed political candidate who rode the coattails of her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to obtain power and influence.

Hillary Clinton didn’t normalize anything. And she does not deserve any credit for women running for president.

Former President Donald Trump gave a touching tribute at the Republican National Convention to Corey Comperatore, the slain former fire chief who was killed during the assassination attempt of Trump on Saturday, July 13. Comperatore’s protective fire coat and helmet were displayed on the stage behind Trump. Trump raved about Comperatore’s bravery.

“He lost his life selflessly acting as a human shield to protect them from flying bullets,” Trump said. “He went right over the top of them and was hit. What a fine man he was.”

Then, Trump went over to Compertore’s gear, embraced it, and kissed his helmet. He then asked everyone for a moment of silence to pay respect to Compertore. Yet, after this moment of silence, or maybe even slightly before it, people began to notice the spelling of Comperatore’s last name printed on his coat that was onstage. It was spelled as “Compertore,” seemingly missing the letter “a” in his last name. Many people – especially on social media – assumed it was an error made by Trump’s people at the RNC. They were wrong.

As an Italian American who has frequently had his last name spelled incorrectly on awards, certificates, jackets, coats, enrollment sheets, etc., I wondered which spelling was correct and who was responsible for the error. After reading numerous conflicting reports online and on social media, I called the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company, the fire company that Comperatore was a member of.

When speaking to a fire company member on the phone, she clarified that the actual spelling of the last name was “Comperatore” and that the misspelling on the back of the coat was the fire department’s mistake.

“It’s been that way for years,” the fire company member I spoke to told me.

I was not given any reason for the error, and truthfully, I did not need one. It’s a volunteer fire department in which people volunteer their time and their lives to protect their community. Mistakes happen, and if it didn’t bother Corey Comperatore, it shouldn’t bother anyone else. And it definitely shouldn’t be used as a false rumor for political gain.
