Former NFL Player Sentenced To Life In Prison For Egregious Crimes

A horrific child killing could keep a former NFL player behind bars for the rest of his life.

The Western Journal reported on the death of 5-year-old La’Rayah Patra Nicole Lamont Davis, who that year succumbed to more than 100 bruises, 20 broken ribs, a lacerated liver, and bruises on other organs according to police at the scene. She was the daughter of Amy Taylor and 33-year-old Cierre Wood, a former Notre Dame standout who played for multiple pro teams during his brief professional career. In April, Wood reached a plea agreement with prosecutors that will see him serve a minimum of 10 years before he is eligible for parole, though it’s stipulated that he will be on track for a life sentence.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

“Your heart absolutely breaks and you think, ‘How can somebody be so cruel?,’” said Chief Deputy District Attorney Dena Rinetti at the sentencing hearing. He was relieved to see prosecutors reach with Wood what’s known as an Alford plea, meaning Wood admits that there is sufficient evidence to convict him without costing the state of Nevada the time and resources to hold a trial. His guilty plea includes a charge of second-degree murder and a charge of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment. Taylor, the girl’s mother, had previously been sentenced to life in prison with the chance of parole after 10 years for Taylor’s second-degree murder charge and eight to 20 years on her child abuse charge.

Thomas Ericsson, an attorney for Wood, argued it was Taylor who sat on the girl’s chest to hold her down during an outburst and that his client wasn’t home at the time of the abuse. He added that Wood tried to provide comfort to Taylor and her daughter and pointed to his lack of criminal history. Before the killing, he had a brief career playing for the practice squads of the Houston Texas, New England Patriots, and Buffalo Bills.

At her sentencing, Taylor accused Wood of standing by and watching while she beat her own child to death. Wood concurred in his own remarks, admitting he “kind of did nothing” as Davis died. “It’s very hard for me to believe that you just passively stood there while this child was basically being beaten to death,” the mother told the court at her sentencing. The judge previously read off text messages between the abusive lovers about how to hide Davis’s bruises when she went to school. “You are both guilty,” District Judge Jacqueline Bluth said. “And you better thank Mr. Ericsson for every single second that you got off because if a jury heard these text messages and saw the pictures of that child that I had to see, you would be doing life without the possibility of parole.”

Legendary Singer Leaves Fans Concerned After ‘Struggles’ At Latest Concert

The New Atlantis

A painful final concert capped the career of legendary singer Frankie Valli, who at 90 years old struggled with lip-syncing at a show earlier this month.

Valli and his Four Seasons quartet delivered some of pop’s greatest hits of the 60s and 70s, including “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “Walk Like a Man.” However, all the magic vanished during an August 3rd concert at the Mountain Winery in the San Jose suburb of Saratoga when Valli appeared strikingly frail. In a clip viewed online more than 4.1 million times, he can be seen climbing stairs to the stage and barely moving his lips to the 1978 hit “Grease.” The New York Post reported Valli attempted to weakly snap his fingers along to “Can’t Keep My Eyes Off Of You” while backup vocalists kept the tune going, but the lip-syncing act was more than obvious.

A representative for Valli told the Post he is doing “just fine” and doesn’t see the staged set as a death sentence to his 71-year singing career. “Frankie is doing just fine and super happy to still be performing. The audiences are filling venues and listening to some great music,” the rep said in response to the controversy, adding “Frankie is doing what he loves to do at 90. We should all be so lucky.” Most of the attention began with an Instagram video post by the user @cecchinitrucking who was in Saratoga that day to catch Valli in action. “Great show!!!! Frankie shows his age but at 90 years old he still can draw a crowd and rock the house,” they wrote. “Was definitely a #millivanilli lip sync concert but what would you expect from a 90 year old guy!!!!”

WATCH:

Viewers on X said it was sad to see Valli receiving the “Joe Biden treatment” after his failed performance. Others blamed the singer’s rep for letting him on stage at 90 years old. “What promoter forced this poor man on stage?” one Instagram user wrote. Another added, “Lip sync embarrassment. Let the man retire already.” Others stuck up for the legendary singer, with one fan wrote, “Be respectful. This is Frankie Valli and these songs are fantastic.
Everybody should be able to do what they like until they want to.”

Some of yesteryear’s biggest pop stars have delivered heartbreaking news this year. Ann Wilson, who has led the five-member group Heart since its inception in 1967, recently made known her cancer diagnosis in a heartfelt social media post where she thanked her millions of followers for their support while she takes the rest of the year away to recover. Peter Frampton, 74, the iconic guitar frontman for Humble Pie, is continuing his battle against Inclusion Body Myositis and recently reported worsening symptoms in his arms and hands.

Jim Acosta GRILLS Kamala Spox On CNN: ‘Campaign Rally Is NOT A Press Conference’

The New Atlantis

A spokesman for Vice President Kamala Harris received less than a warm welcome on CNN where longtime reporter Jim Acosta, a frequent sparring partner with the Trump administration, wasn’t buying his excuse for Harris ducking questions from the media.

Michael Tyler did his best to spin Harris’s disappearing act on the campaign trail, where she has largely stuck to teleprompters and controlled rallies with voters while avoiding the traveling press corps. The vice president hasn’t held an extended media appearance since the start of her campaign last month, and judging from Acosta’s reaction, the stiff-arming is beginning to wear on reporters.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

“Michael, you know that a campaign rally is not a press conference,” the host said in response to Tyler’s line about Harris being “busy crisscrossing this country” with running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, as he laughed off an initial question. “We absolutely are” going to take questions from the press, the spokesman continued. “You heard her do it as she’s out on the stump,” a likely reference to a 70-second stop that Harris made in front of a steel gate keeping reporters at bay last week. “She said we’re going to be having a sit-down interview here before the end of the month. What she’s going to be focused on, and what this campaign’s going to be focused on, is communicating directly with the voters that are going to be deciding the pathway to 270 electoral votes.”

“Can you commit to a press conference this week?” interrupted Acosta, but Tyler continued on as if he didn’t the question. “Yeah,” the reporter sighed before trying again. “Yeah, but Michael one interview by the end of the month… I don’t want to belabor this, but one interview before the end of the month, I mean, that’s not a lot.” Asking him again, Acosta did his best to back the Harris spokesman into a corner but was unsuccessful. “We will commit to engaging with the voters that are actually going to decide this election,” Tyler replied.

WATCH:

Harris advisors have every right to be concerned about what the vice president and Democratic nominee may say in an unscripted setting. Her head-scratching statement about falling “out of a coconut tree” has been held up by conservatives as emblematic of how absurd Harris’s answers to questions can be while her allies have attempted to rally around the line, turning it into an online meme. Throughout the Biden administration she has struggled to adopt various roles as the “border czar,” ambassador to Africa, and point person on artificial intelligence. Defending President Joe Biden last year, she stated he is “very much alive.”

During his own recent press conference, former President Donald Trump declared that his new rival is “not very smart” and contrasted his winding, hour-long appearance with Harris’s lack of transparency. The two continue to tango over the terms of presidential debates, with President Trump offering to debate Harris on all networks at any time after previously demanding that the original September 10th interview be moved to Fox News from ABC, where he is suing George Stephanopoulos and claims a conflict of interest would deny him fair coverage.

Anti-Trump Pollster Stuns CNN Panel, Reveals New ‘Silent Majority’ Getting Behind DJT

Anti-Trump Pollster Stuns CNN Panel, Reveals New ‘Silent Majority’ Getting Behind DJT

The New Atlantis

Republican pollster Frank Luntz, no fan of former President Donald Trump by any measure, believes that he is drawing a significant “silent majority” of support among blue-collar union workers that have diverged further from their liberal leadership than ever before.

Speaking on CNN, Luntz explained how, over more than three decades of polling Americans, he has never seen such animosity between union bosses and their bases. Trump, he added, is the fissure line. “I assure you that Donald Trump is doing better among the average union member – not teachers unions and not the unions for government, but everybody else – trades, people working with their hands. He’s doing better among them than any Republican has done in decades. This is not gonna be a problem for him. The union leadership is more divided from their membership, and the louder it is the greater the divides are gonna come,” he told host Abby Phillip and the rest of the panel. “And in my focus groups, and this is remarkable to me, the union membership says ‘They don’t speak for me.’”

The panel on CNN was held in response to news that the United Auto Workers union filed federal labor charges against President Trump and X owner Elon Musk following a conversation that included the topic of non-union labor. Famously, President Trump grew a groundswell of union support in his victorious campaign over Hillary Clinton in 2016, and more recently has enjoyed a warm relationship with Teamsters President Sean O’Brien whom he invited to speak at the Republican National Convention last month. O’Brien touted the appearance as a prime opportunity to bring unions’ concerns to an entirely new segment of conservative Americans but has drawn scorn from other Teamsters leaders for straying far from their traditional Democratic base. Such instances are unprecedented in all his years of polling, Luntz added.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

“I’ve been in this now since, and I hate to say this, 1989, 1990. I’ve never had union people publicly say ‘they don’t speak for me,’” he reiterated.

WATCH:

Throughout his campaign, President Trump hasn’t shied away from appearing before union crowds when he spots an opening to seek support. Last year, he skipped the first GOP debate and announced his intention to visit Michigan, a key swing state and site of the first strike in 100 years to affect all three of the nation’s major auto companies. Shortly after in September, the Oil and Gas Workers Association, which is comprised of 50,000 members who work in domestic drilling, announced that it would support President Trump in the GOP primary as well as the general election. He continued the trend during his Manhattan hush money trial, appearing before New York construction union workers who were enthusiastic about telling the press they were supporting Trump.

Steamfitters Local 638 president Bobby Bartels told Newsmax he had a chance to discuss with Trump some of the most pressing issues for his members, including immigration, crime, and high prices. “In the past, we are basically Democrats, all of us. And after what’s happened the last 4 years in this country, Democrats are basically pushing everybody to the other side,” he said at the time. “We are a very patriotic group and we love our country and we want the best for America. We are tired of immigration, we are tired of our tax dollars going to immigration, we are tired of the crime, we need to put a handle back on things in this country.”

JUST IN: New York Times Turns On Hunter Biden, FINALLY Exposes Burisma Influence Peddling

The New Atlantis

With his father out of the race for president and no port left in his storm, Hunter Biden is finally starting to see the mainstream media turn against him.

On Tuesday the New York Times posted a startling report on the embattled first son’s request for a key Biden ambassador to assist him in bringing aid to Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company where Hunter had a boardroom seat that company executives have outright stated was obtained only due to his family ties. The report is all the more revealing about how major news outlets are now willing to expose the son of President Joe Biden, who almost certainly was relying on another four-year term to help ease the criminal indictments mounting against him. According to the Times, the Biden administration waited until the president had ended his reelection bid before releasing records about Hunter’s lobbying of the U.S. ambassador to Italy in 2016.

At the time, Hunter was deeply enmeshed in helping Burisma fend off a corruption investigation from a Ukrainian prosecutor. The newly released documents paint a picture of embassy officials who felt uneasy about Hunter’s requests and cautioned him against promising that the administration could help facilitate a geothermal energy deal between Burisma and Italy. “I want to be careful about promising too much,” wrote a Commerce Department (DOC) official in response to Hunter’s request for a meeting. “This is a Ukrainian company and, purely to protect ourselves, U.S.G. should not be actively advocating with the government of Italy without the company going through the D.O.C. Advocacy Center.”

Despite the revelation, the Times was quick to suggest that career bureaucrats in the State Department, who it calls “notoriously slow” in responding to public records requests, did not mean for the long-delayed release of records to coincide with Biden’s decision to drop out. Early on in the story, the paper gave Hunter’s attorney Abbe Lowell a chance to push his client’s 2016 outreach under the rug. “No meeting occurred, no project materialized, no request for anything in the U.S. was ever sought and only an introduction in Italy was requested,” Mr. Lowell said in a statement, calling Hunter’s outreach part of a “proper request” to “ask various people” about connecting Burisma with Italian energy officials.

Congressman James Comer (R-KY), who has spearheaded a congressional inquiry into the Biden family’s business dealings, reacted to the news which even he had not uncovered as part of his investigation. “This is, I think, the biggest political corruption scandal in our history’s lifetime,” he said last week on Newsmax.

For months, the State Department stiff-armed public records requests by the Times and other outlets to release unredacted documents related to others found on Hunter Biden’s laptop. The government ultimately released thousands of pages of records, none of which related to Hunter’s business dealings, before closing the request. The Times sued, leading to the present disclosure. In the email exchanges, Hunter’s business associate Eric Schwerin can be seen asking for a seemingly innocuous meeting between U.S. Ambassador John R. Phillips and Enrico Rossi, the head of Tuscany’s regional government.

“Burisma is hoping that some of its executives can get a meeting with the president to discuss their geothermal business in Tuscany,” Schwerin wrote to the Commerce Department contact. “The Ambassador already replied to one letter from Mr. Biden,” the Commerce Department official wrote in an email to other U.S. government officials. “He may be shopping for more support than he got here,” the official added. In an interview, the former ambassador said he did not recall any outreach by Hunter. The full text of a letter by the Biden son requesting a meeting was redacted by the state, which cited privacy disclosures that may compromise his safety.

Ultimately the project never moved forward. If Mr. Biden had written to him, “I certainly would pay attention to it,” Phillips told the Times. “Out of courtesy, I’d probably make sure he got a response of some sort, but not necessarily from me. And I wouldn’t even want to encourage it, because I wouldn’t get us involved in something like that.”

WATCH: Kevin O’Leary OBLITERATES Tim Walz In Brutal Takedown On Fox

The New Atlantis

Kevin O’Leary, the savvy investor best known for his televised role on the hit series “Shark Tank,” doesn’t believe Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has the financial acumen to serve as vice president.

O’Leary said as much on Fox Business after doing his own research into the governor’s total lack of financial investments, which has drawn both praise and criticism for his humble net worth. When it comes to job creation and an understanding of the economic markets, O’Leary said, there’s more downside to a leader like Walz than a first glance may belie.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

“I didn’t know anything about the VP candidate, Tim, and so I did some digging last week – I got the data last Friday. He is not a good manager,” said the investment guru. “If you look at his stewardship of his state, Minnesota, it’s been not good. People may say ‘No, you’re partisan, you’re partisan.’ No, I’m not! I’m looking at the track record of an individual who came into a state and wiped out job creation. He wiped out job creation in professional services, manufacturing, accounting—every subcategory.”

Continuing on, he explained how Gov. Walz’s policies had caused job creators to flee for greener pastures throughout the Midwest. “You look at those jobs, and they moved to South Dakota, North Dakota. The South Dakota job rate right now is four times that of Minnesota. Minnesota only creates jobs in services that are funded by the government, such as healthcare and social services; every other sector is in decline. He’s also added a surcharge of one percent (100 basis points) on top of the 9.8% taxes on individuals who are retiring, and of course, they’re leaving the state in droves.”

WATCH:

Republicans continue to search for the most pungent line of attack against Walz, who entered Congress on promises of bipartisanship but has governed as a progressive since 2018. During the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, Minneapolis became an epicenter of violence and property destruction, a time that the Democrat’s critics are quick to cite and suggest that nationwide crime would run rampant with Walz as vice president. Republicans, led by vice presidential nominee and U.S. Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), have accused the governor of committing “stolen valor” but running for Congress in 2005 using a military title that had been rescinded because he declined when called on to fight in the Iraq war. Speaking at a union conference on Tuesday, Gov. Walz issued a defiant response. “I am damn proud of my service to this country,” Mr. Walz said, the New York Times reported. “And I firmly believe you should never denigrate another person’s service record.”

Voters mostly continue to give former President Donald Trump higher marks on economic stewardship than Vice President Kamala Harris, and if those poll results hold Republicans may ultimately find that tying her and Walz to a sinking Minnesota economy would be the be the best approach. “He’s the best governor for Texas, for Florida, for North and South Dakota, but not for Minnesota,” O’Leary added.

NEW: Pro-Trump NBA Star Wins GOP Senate Primary

NEW: Pro-Trump NBA Star Wins GOP Senate Primary

The New Atlantis

A former NBA star who has been loud and proud about supporting former President Donald Trump is set to take on progressive Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) in November.

Royce White, who retired in 2014 and plays semi-professionally in the minor leagues, won the Republican primary on Tuesday night, beating back a close challenge by retired Naval officer Joe Fraser. He will now take on Klobuchar in the heavily blue state that was trending Trump’s way before Vice President Kamala Harris jumped into the race. Still, White can rely on his successful career playing for the Sacramento Kings to perhaps raise national funds, which he’ll need; he enters the general election with roughly $53,000 cash on hand while Sen. Klobuchar has a war chest surpassing $12 million, according to Fox News.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

Describing himself as a “MAGA extremist,” White, 33, earned the endorsement of the Minnesota Republican Party and has made his politics known during several high-profile appearances on the court. In July of 2023, he appeared at a BIG3 basketball game in Brooklyn on Saturday with “Trump Won!” emblazoned on the left side of his shaved head, a reference to claims that President Trump actually won the 2020 election. The matchup was nationally televised on CBS, something White no doubt knew would give his outspoken position massive attention.

The president’s campaign team was quick to highlight the show of support.

With a nod from President Trump as well, expect MAGA donors across the country to take a close look at making donations to White’s campaign. He joins other hard-right conservative Senate nominees running to support a second Trump administration alongside Arizona candidate Kari Lake, Ohio’s Bernie Moreno, and businessman Mike Rogers of Michigan. Neither is this White’s first time running for office. The power forward ran for Congress as a Republican in Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District, home to “Squad” member Ilhan Omar, but lost the primary election. Rep. Omar won her Democratic primary on Tuesday against a more moderate challenger.

Sen. Klobuchar was first elected in 2006 and is the state’s first woman to serve as a U.S. senator. However, her higher aspirations, including her 2020 campaign for president where she demonstrated an angrier, darker side in dealings with her staff, may be fodder for White on the campaign trail. The 2012 first-round draft pick has already laid the groundwork to contrast himself as more relatable than the elitist Democrat. He has publicly spoken out about his Generalized Anxiety Disorder and a deep fear of flying, preferring instead to travel to games by bus. He took a hiatus from professional basketball before joining the Canadian professional league in 2017 and later went semiprofessional with the Big3 league.

With more sports figures in recent years using their platforms to promote political causes, White is a contrarian in the liberal basketball world. He has called out China for its genocide in Uyghur and used his noggin to advertise his belief that the U.S. explored “gain of function” research with the coronavirus to increase its deadliness as a potential biological weapon.

CNN’s Harry Enten Gives Democrats BRUTAL Reminder About Trump’s Polling

CNN’s Harry Enten Gives Democrats BRUTAL Reminder About Trump’s Polling

The New Atlantis

Harry Enten, the chief political pollster for CNN, may start to sound like a screechy broken record to Democrats who otherwise would rely on the once-centrist news outlet to carry their water in an election year.

Enten was on for the third time in as many months warning Vice President Kamala Harris about possible pitfalls with just 83 days to go before Election Day. Among them would be to underestimate the deep well of support for former President Donald Trump, and especially his populist policies, which have drawn hundreds of thousands of voters into the Republican Party over the past seven and a half years. The former president is actually performing much better in key demographics than where he stood four years ago, Enten explained.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

“We’ve kind of been here before,” Enten told viewers on Monday, walking voters through poll results from August 2016 13th in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. “Trump was estimated [to lose] by significant margins. In those polls… Trump was underestimated by 9 points on average at this point. It wasn’t a one-off,” he added, pointing to present-day results showing Trump’s support in those states being underestimated by 5 points on average. “Kamala Harris’s advantage in the New York Times/Sierra College poll was 4 points in each of these key battleground states.”

“The bottom line is this: If you have any idea if you’re a Kamala Harris fan and you want to rip open the champagne bottle, pop that cork, do not do it. Donald Trump is very much in this race. If we have a polling shift like we’ve seen in prior years between now and Election Day, Donald Trump would actually win,” said the analyst. “I’m not saying that’s going to happen, but he’s very much in this ball game.”

WATCH:

Equally bad in Enten’s estimation is the Harris campaign’s naive hope that enthusiasm around her nascent bid will translate into electoral success in November. Spokespersons have pointed to a shift in battleground state polls showing Harris running significantly ahead of where President Joe Biden stood before he dropped out.  “That enthusiasm is not the same thing as going out to actually vote, and there’s a different question [in the survey] which says, how certain are you that you’re actually going to go out and vote?” In fact, he adds, the number of Harris voters who say they are “almost certain” to vote now sits at 61%, just shy of the 62% of Biden supporters who said the same back in May. In contrast, the percentage of President Trump’s supporters who say the same has risen in that time to 60% from 58%.

Harris will be hoping to maintain her dominance in the media cycle at next week’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago where she will formally become the party’s nominee. Officials are preparing for a riotous series of protestors who continue to push progressives to vote “uncommitted” in November, a signal that their anti-Israel movement hasn’t changed with the rise of Harris who they still hold responsible for President Biden’s positions.

Trump Immediately Unfollows Mike Pence After Returning To X/Twitter

The New Atlantis

The MAGA world is celebrating former President Donald Trump’s return to X, which one eagle-eyed follower noted includes a slap in the face to former Vice President Mike Pence.

The account @USPoliticsAlert was the first to note that @realDonaldTrump has unfollowed @vp45, the archived account of all posts made by Vice President Pence during his time in the White House. The change is another reminder that even as social media posts come and go, President Trump’s loathing of his former deputy hasn’t been swayed.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

On Monday, President Trump announced his return to the platform with a movie-style trailer that paid tribute to the unprecedented nature of his victorious 2016 campaign as well as the Justice Department’s raid on Mar-a-Lago and two criminal indictments against him. Later in the day, most eyes and ears were drawn to Trump’s interview with X owner Elon Musk. For so much to be going on and Trump still getting a dig in at Pence’s expense shows just how acrimonious their relationship – or lack thereof – has become. Supporters of Trump took a moment to enjoy the schadenfreude.

“Wasn’t a good follow. Bad content. Not funny,” one wrote, captioning a smiling Trump photo.

Another joked, “Breakup is official” while another said, “Damn that’s cold” in response to the Trump slight. “Friendship ended with MIKE. Now JD is my best friend,” a third wrote. One person highlighted a circa-2012 post from Trump where he explains his hiring decisions in the Trump business empire. “When an employee leaves me and begs to come back — I never let them. Loyalty is very important,” he tweeted at the time.

Trump has never forgiven Pence for failing to step in and block certification of the 2020 election on January 6th, 2021, shortly before rioters entered the Capitol building. The vice president was targeted by some members who were responding to statements by Trump that Pence was insufficiently loyal to him. Since then, Pence, a devoutly religious Christian, has said he is proud to have stuck by his principles and the Constitution rather than his boss. Voters did not agree – the former Indiana governor ended his presidential aspirations in October of last year after struggling to gain traction or raise funds.

“It’s become clear to me: This is not my time,” Pence said at the time, according to the AP. “So after much prayer and deliberation, I have decided to suspend my campaign for president effective today. We always knew this would be an uphill battle, but I have no regrets.” In April he announced he would serve as a part-time professor at Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania.

This time around, President Trump is relying on Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), a former critic-turned-MAGA disciple who has also been more than willing to attack Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Lara Trump Reveals ‘Sinister’ Forces Possibly Behind Trump-Musk Interview’s Tech Glitch

The New Atlantis

Lara Trump, the powerful family daughter-in-law who took a seat at the GOP’s helm this year, believes there is an obvious explanation for the technical glitches that plagued a Monday night online interview between Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump.

During a brief interview, Lara, who earlier this year was announced as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, railed at length against “deep state” enemies of her father-in-law who she claimed want to maintain their “free pass” for nefarious activities under President Joe Biden. President Trump and Musk had teased their Spaces discussion on X as the “interview of the century,” but it was immediately delayed by 40 minutes as the platform reeled from a denial-of-service attack by hackers. Once fixed, the two spoke publicly for more than two hours and reached hundreds of millions of accounts.

(VOTE: Are You Supporting TRUMP Or KAMALA In November?)

“I think it’s pretty obvious at this point, there are a lot of people out there and there’s a massive effort, of course, to keep Donald Trump out of the White House. These people are terrified. This is the deep state. This is the swamp in Washington, D.C.,” Lara told Fox News’s Sean Hannity. “These are the people who are our adversaries in many cases, they know that the jig is up, the game is over when Donald J. Trump returns to the White House and they are petrified of it. They’ve had a free pass for three and a half years … the people who want to do nefarious activities to us here in America, to our allies around the world, they’ve gotten a free pass and a free ride and they would like another four years of that with Kamala Harris at the helm.”

WATCH:

The mini-meltdown was reminiscent of the botched rollout of Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign on X last year. It set the stage for criticisms of the Florida governor as less prepared than Trump for the national stage and undergirded other missteps, from his reticence while speaking with voters to being thin-skinned in response to questions from the media. Musk, who is publicly supporting and financing Trump’s reelection, offered equal time to Vice President Harris if she would like to speak with him on the social media network. “Happy to host Kamala on an 𝕏 Spaces too,” he wrote after the Trump interview. He was preempted by a statement from the Harris campaign. Trump’s entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself – self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024,” a spokesperson wrote.

Still, the Trump-Musk interview garnered a respectable number of attendees and served as an opportunity for President Trump to announce his return to the platform that helped propel him into the White House.

On Truth Social, he bragged that more than 1 billion accounts tuned in. “An all-time record, but the media refuses to write about it because they are FAKE NEWS!” he wrote.
