A spitting protestor was cuffed and wheeled away on a cart after interfering with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Portland, Ore., creating a viral video reminder of why President Donald Trump has vowed to deploy troops to the progressive city.
ICE officers in Portland have reportedly been under siege by protestors for more than 100 consecutive nights. Clashes have grown increasingly violent, breathing life into Trump’s claim that the city is “burning to the ground.”
In a video shared by ICE on Sunday, an adult man was laid on a flatbed cart and wheeled away after he refused to walk. His scraggly hair and black hood draped over his face as a cameraman followed.
Despite his utter helplessness, the angry protestor attempted to spit at the ICE agent.
The short clip was posted to ICE’s account on X and backed by Chamillionaire’s song “Ridin” with the lyrics “they see me rollin’, they hatin’.”
“Refuse to walk? We’ll give you a ride,” the video was captioned.
The clip was a hit, racking up more than three million views in a matter of hours.

Portland has been in the throes of anti-ICE activity, causing President Trump to call on the National Guard to restore order. That deployment was temporarily blocked on Saturday when a federal judge who sided with the city and state against the administration.
Trump lashed out at the judge on Sunday, insisting that there won’t be much of Portland left to save if the riots continue.
“Portland is burning to the ground,” he wrote on Truth Social.
“It’s insurrectionists all over the place, it’s antifa. You’ve seen it — the place is burning down and they pretend like there’s nothing happening.”
U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut, who was appointed by Trump in his first term, concluded that the dozens of protestors outside the ICE facility did not justify the deployment of hundreds of National Guard officers. The ruling was a boon to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who also sued after Trump called up three hundred members of his state’s National Guard.
“This country has a longstanding and foundational tradition of resistance to government overreach, especially in the form of military intrusion into civil affairs,” Immergut wrote, according to the Daily Mail.
“This historical tradition boils down to a simple proposition: this is a nation of Constitutional law, not martial law.”
The decision was a blow for ICE’s Portland facility, where its director said in a recent interview that agents are being put in harm’s way by protestors who are throwing glass bottles against the building, shattering windows, building barricades blocking the arrival and departure of ICE vehicles, and shining laser pointers directly into officers’ eyes.
