A video from Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker supporting Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) as Vice President Kamala Harris’s pick for running mate has reinforced speculation that her decision has already been made.
“We’re getting behind Kamala Harris for president and Josh Shapiro for vice president,” various speakers said in the video.
The video endorses Shapiro as her pick for various reasons, including his pro-labor and “progressive” policies, and only suggests he is Harris’s running mate towards the end of the video. Some online speculated this was a leak that was supposed to be published only after he was announced on Monday, but the video could just be arguing Harris should choose Shapiro, not that she already has. Further, neither Harris nor the Democratic National Committee paid for it.
As of writing, the video has been up for several hours and is pinned to the top of Parker’s X page.

The video features footage from a rally of several labor leaders advocating Shapiro to be Harris’s running mate. It is almost identical to a previous video released by Parker last week, with participants saying Shapiro is running as Harris’s vice president tacked on in the newest version.
