White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is holding a White House briefing at 1:30 p.m. as President Joe Biden faces continued calls to step down.

Biden is likely going to face an intraparty reckoning this week as many Democrats are expected to ask him to step down.

If he does so, Biden will be the first president since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968 to decide not to seek reelection after his first term.
