Former Kamala Harris Fundraiser Slams Vice President for Misusing Donor Funds

Lindy Li, a high-profile former fundraiser for Vice President Kamala Harris, has severed ties with the Democratic Party in a fiery exit, accusing the campaign of grossly misusing donor funds and showing favoritism to billionaires like Oprah Winfrey. Li, who raised millions for Harris’s failed presidential bid, claims her disillusionment reached a breaking point after witnessing what she called financial irresponsibility and a lack of accountability.

“My initial disillusionment became clear when I realized that they spent, they burnt, essentially set $2.5 billion on fire,” Li told Fox News. “They raised $1.5 billion through the campaign, another billion through the super PAC Future Forward, and there’s been no accountability.”

“We still haven’t gotten any answer as to why Oprah—a billionaire—got $2.5 million dollars through her production company. Why couldn’t she pay for it? She’s an oligarch; she could have just covered the production costs herself. And not to mention the fact that they spent $450,000 putting Kamala Harris’s face on the Sphere. Now tell me why that would be helpful. Tell me how that would help her win. Obviously, that was an utter failure.”

Li also highlighted other expenditures she deemed egregious, including $450,000 to project Harris’s face onto a Las Vegas digital sphere and $500,000 paid to Al Sharpton “moments before he interviewed her.”

WATCH:

“I haven’t met a single donor who disagrees with me,” Li added. Li’s decision to publicly cut ties with the Democratic Party has not come without repercussions. She says she has faced online harassment and vitriol since making her announcement, with the party resorting to “public shaming” and “psychological terrorism.”

“So this is all happening really quickly for me, but you might see me at the inauguration,” she revealed. “I don’t want to say too much right now, but somebody on Team Trump already reached out to me. They’ve been incredibly gracious. And on day one, they were kinder to me and more humane than the DNC ever was.”

Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign concluded with a significant financial shortfall, leaving approximately $20 million in debt despite raising over $1 billion. The campaign’s financial strategy has come under fire, with many pointing to high-profile but costly expenditures that failed to deliver a victory in the election.

Among the campaign’s significant outlays was nearly $2.5 million paid to Oprah Winfrey’s production company for a celebrity-packed town hall event, a sum that exceeded initial estimates. Similarly, six-figure amounts were allocated to set designs for various media appearances, including Harris’s participation in the popular podcast Call Her Daddy. While the investments were intended to amplify the campaign’s visibility, they sparked criticism about prioritizing style over substance.

Harris’s campaign raised unprecedented funds, fueled by support from high-profile donors and grassroots contributors. However, the substantial debt has fueled internal discussions about the party’s future direction and the challenges of balancing celebrity-driven appeal with traditional campaign strategies.

As Harris faces mounting criticism from both former allies and political opponents, Li’s defection underscores the growing fractures within the Democratic Party—a big contrast to Trump’s apparent success in unifying his base heading into his second term.

NEW: Texas Man Shoots Teens Attempting Armed Robbery

The New Atlantis

A group of teenagers learned the hard way that crime doesn’t pay after allegedly attempting to rob a man at gunpoint in Houston, Texas. The incident, which unfolded early Thursday morning, left three of the teens hospitalized after the would-be victim turned the tables, using his own firearm to defend himself.

According to Major J. Suarez of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, four juveniles between the ages of 12 and 14 approached the man while he was walking in the 700 block of Oak Village Drive. Armed with what appeared to be guns, the teens allegedly attempted to rob him. However, it was later revealed that the weapons were BB guns, not real firearms.

The man, reportedly carrying a concealed weapon, reacted by drawing his gun and shooting at the group. Three of the four teens were hit. Police say two are in stable condition, while the third underwent surgery and is expected to recover. The fourth teenager, who was not struck, was taken into custody for questioning.

“The juveniles ranged from ages 12 to 14,” said Major Suarez. “They were all transported to nearby hospitals. Currently, there’s one in critical condition and two in stable condition. Our crime scene investigators and our violent crimes unit investigators responded to the scene and are currently conducting early stages of their investigation.”

WATCH:

He continued, “We do have a fourth juvenile detained and also an adult male detained. It is believed the incident occurred due to an attempted aggravated robbery that involved the juveniles approached the male and they were displaying pistols. The adult male retrieved his own pistol and shot the juveniles.”

The man admitted to shooting the teenagers and subsequently surrendered to the police. Several firearms were collected at the scene, packaged, and dispatched to the forensic laboratory for analysis. At the time, Bailey was unaware that an attempted robbery had taken place. “I called the sheriff’s department and ambulance to come and pick up the kid – and of course – at that time I didn’t know it was a little kid,” Bailey recounted. “My other neighbor came and held his hand and was talking to him, trying to keep him alive.”

WATCH: CNN Analyst SAVAGES Kamala’s Latest Proposal, Links Plan To Failed Communist Regimes

The New Atlantis

In a Friday interview on CNN, Washington Post journalist Catherine Rampell roasted Vice President Kamala Harris’ proposed economic policies, specifically targeting a federal ban on “price gouging” for grocers. Rampell’s analysis drew parallels between Harris’ ideas and policies from failed communist regimes throughout history.

“First of all, nobody can explain what price gouging means. It’s like that old line about pornography. I know it when I see it,” Rampell explained. “In the sense that, what does it mean to have an excessive price or an excessive profit margin. That seems to be shorthand for a price or a profit margin that bugs me, that seems too high. So, you know, it’s very hard to pin down what this would actually mean.”

“The particular way that this is written, which is likely to be the template for any proposal that Harris would eventually embrace, is especially bad. It just bans excessive prices, grossly excessive prices, grossly excessive profit margins, and says that the Federal Trade Commission can use any metric it deems appropriate,” Rampell continued.

The CNN analyst also brought up historical precedents where similar economic controls had detrimental effects. “We’ve seen this kind of thing tried in lots of other countries before, Venezuela, Argentina, the Soviet Union, etc. It leads to shortages, it leads to black markets, you know, plenty of uncertainty,” Rampell added.

WATCH:

“The specific way this bill is written might actually increase prices because of some of the other language in it, things like requiring companies, public companies to disclose in their quarterly reports, their quarterly earnings reports, how they’re setting prices, which is a great way to help them collude, which normally we don’t want them to do,” she finished.

Price gouging refers to the practice of significantly increasing the prices of goods or services to an unfair or excessively high level, especially during an emergency or crisis when demand is unusually high and supply may be limited. This can occur with essential items such as food, water, gasoline, or medical supplies during natural disasters, pandemics, or other critical events. The legality and definition of price gouging vary by jurisdiction, but it is often regulated by laws that aim to prevent exploitative pricing practices during times of emergency. These laws typically set limits on the allowable price increases for certain essential goods and services.

Rampell wrote in her piece in The Washington Post:

It’s hard to exaggerate how bad this policy is. It is, in all but name, a sweeping set of government-enforced price controls across every industry, not only food. Supply and demand would no longer determine prices or profit levels. Far-off Washington bureaucrats would. The FTC would be able to tell, say, a Kroger in Ohio the acceptable price it can charge for milk.

At best, this would lead to shortages, black markets and hoarding, among other distortions seen previous times countries tried to limit price growth by fiat. (There’s a reason narrower “price gouging” laws that exist in some U.S. states are rarely invoked.) At worst, it might accidentally raise prices.

That’s because, among other things, the legislation would ban companies from offering lower prices to a big customer such as Costco than to Joe’s Corner Store, which means quantity discounts are in trouble. Worse, it would require public companies to publish detailed internal data about costs, margins, contracts and their future pricing strategies. Posting cost and pricing plans publicly is a fantastic way for companies to collude to keep prices higher — all facilitated by the government.

NEW: Trump TERRIFIES Kamala Harris With Brilliant New Campaign Move

NEW: Trump TERRIFIES Kamala Harris With Brilliant New Campaign Move

The New Atlantis

In a twist to the 2024 presidential race, former President Donald Trump has joined forces with a surprising ally for his upcoming debate preparations against Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump has enlisted former Democrat congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, a move that continues to signal a strategic shift in his campaign approach.

Gabbard, who famously clashed with Harris during the 2019 Democratic presidential primary debates, is known for her critical stance on the Democrat Party, from which she distanced herself after her 2020 presidential bid. Her appearance alongside Trump at Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence is a significant collaboration.

According to The New York Times, Trump’s decision to bring Gabbard on board was influenced by her memorable performance in the CNN debate, where she sharply criticized Harris’s record as a prosecutor in California. During the 2019 Democrat debate confrontation, Gabbard accused Kamala Harris of contributing to the systemic failures of the criminal justice system, criticisms she is likely to reiterate as she helps Trump prepare. Gabbard’s critique left a lasting impression that Trump hopes to channel as he faces off against the vice president.

“Senator Harris says she’s proud of her record as a prosecutor and that she’ll be a prosecutor president, but I’m deeply concerned about this record,” Gabbard said during the debate. “There are too many examples to cite, but she put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana.”

WATCH:

“She blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until the courts forced her to do so,” she continued. “She kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor for the state of California and she fought to keep cash bail system in place that impacts poor people in the worst kind of way.”

In an email, Trump spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed Gabbard’s participation to the Times. Leavitt said [Trump] has “proven to be one of the best debaters in political history as evidenced by his knockout blow to Joe Biden. He does not need traditional debate prep but will continue to meet with respected policy advisers and effective communicators like Tulsi Gabbard, who successfully dominated Kamala Harris on the debate stage in 2020.”

Trump’s incorporation of Gabbard into the debate prep not only revitalizes his campaign narrative but also injects an element of unpredictability into the upcoming debates. On Thursday, the Harris campaign announced its commitment to three debates this election cycle: two at the presidential level and one vice presidential debate.

This year, Trump has dedicated more time to debate preparation than he did in both 2016 and 2020. In his lead-up to the June 27 CNN debate, no one played the role of Joe Biden during his sessions. Instead, Trump engaged in lengthy discussions with advisers during plane trips or more structured meetings at Mar-a-Lago. In these sessions, aides took on the role of moderators, sitting across from him and posing questions. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) reportedly asked particularly challenging questions. Other lawmakers, including his running mate Senator JD Vance (R-OH), also joined Trump to discuss policy matters.

Gabbard’s alignment with Trump, while surprising to some, aligns with her recent endeavors to carve out a niche within conservative circles, often appearing as a guest on various conservative media platforms. The alliance may also be seen as a tactical maneuver to consolidate a base that resonates with Gabbard’s anti-establishment rhetoric, drawing in voters who are disillusioned with traditional party politics. Trump’s campaign has not shied away from leveraging such dynamics in the past, painting Harris and the current administration as out of touch with the foundational issues facing Americans.

JUST IN: Trump Gets Game-Changing Poll Result In Crucial Swing State

The New Atlantis

The landscape of the 2024 presidential race is rapidly evolving after new polling data emerged from Pennsylvania, a battleground state that has been a bellwether for national sentiment in past elections. New figures from an Emerson College poll could signal a turning point in the race.

Former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris, 51% to 49%, after undecided voters’ preferences are distributed. This does represent a tightening of the race compared to last month’s results, where Trump led Harris 51% to 45% among very likely voters. However, a string of polling released from the state over the past few weeks reliably showed Harris leading in the Keystone State. Emerson’s newest data firmly bucks that trend.

Electorally, Trump appears to retain his edge over Harris on pivotal issues such as the economy and immigration—domains where his policies have resonated with certain voter segments. However, Harris shows improvement from Joe Biden’s previous performance on both issues.

The poll also dove into the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania, where incumbent Democrat Bob Casey (D-PA) is leading Republican challenger Dave McCormick, 48% to 44%, with 8% of voters undecided. Since last month, Casey has maintained his support level, whereas McCormick has seen a slight decline from 47%. The Senate race mirrors the contentious and closely watched presidential contest.

The candidates’ public perception is also telling. Both Harris and Trump have nearly equal favorable ratings at 48% and 47%, respectively. Their unfavorable ratings are similarly close, with 52% of voters viewing Harris negatively compared to 53% for Trump. In terms of voter concerns, the economy is the top issue for 51% of likely voters in Pennsylvania. Other significant issues include threats to democracy, immigration, housing affordability, healthcare, and abortion access.

Independents show a slight preference for Trump, with 48% backing him versus 45% for Harris. In suburban areas, Harris holds a narrow lead over Trump, 50% to 47%. Among religious demographics, Trump has a substantial advantage with Protestant voters, leading 58% to 40%, and with Roman Catholic voters, where he leads 60% to 39%. Harris finds strong support among atheists and agnostics, who favor her overwhelmingly, 84% to 13%. She also leads among those with no specific religious affiliation, who back her by a margin of 56% to 39%. The poll also asked voters about fracking—a significant issue in Pennsylvania given its substantial natural gas industry. Here, 50% of voters trust Trump to handle the issue better compared to 43% who prefer Harris.

In Pennsylvania, union affiliation seems to play a significant role in voter preferences, according to Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling. “Pennsylvania likely voters in unions break for Harris by 15 points, 57% to 42%, while those not in a union and without union members in the household break for Trump, 50% to 48%,” Kimball explained.

Trump’s campaign is intensely focused on Pennsylvania, viewing the state as essential for a victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. To secure a win, Trump’s strategy includes reclaiming Pennsylvania and Georgia, states he won in 2016 but lost in 2020, and retaining his support in North Carolina.

BREAKING: Bodycam Shows Officers RIPPING USSS For Refusal To Heed MAJOR Warning

BREAKING: Bodycam Shows Officers RIPPING USSS For Refusal To Heed MAJOR Warning

The New Atlantis

Newly released bodycam footage has emerged from the July 13 rally of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, displaying a heated exchange between local law enforcement officers concerning the Secret Service. The footage, obtained by Judicial Watch, captured the critical moments of the thwarted assassination attempt on Trump.

The video begins with a police officer urgently requesting backup, signaling the onset of the chaotic events that would unfold. However, the top revelation from the newly-released footage is the exposure of a breakdown in coordination that could have had dire consequences. A frustrated officer is heard criticizing the Secret Service’s deployment strategy, or lack thereof, in the clip: “I f*cking told them they need to post the guys f*cking over here! I told them at the f*cking, the Secret Service, I told them that f*cking Tuesday. I told them to post f*cking guys over here!”

The lack of personnel in critical areas was a recurring theme in the footage, which documented the officers’ growing frustration. “I wasn’t even concerned about it because I thought someone was on the roof,” one officer admitted.  “I bet he climbed up here… I bet he climbed the wall,” said one of the officers.

One officer’s exasperation is palpable as he recounts his interactions with the Secret Service, which seemed to initially acknowledge the need for increased security: “I thought we were going to post guys over here. I talked to the Secret Service guys, they were like ‘Yeah no problem, we’re going to post guys over here.’”

WATCH:

The footage concludes with officers responding to the aftermath, trying to make sense of the situation and coordinate further action. The footage also provided a new angle of Thomas Matthew Crooks’ body on the roof. Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, fired eight rounds from an AR–15–style rifle from the roof of a nearby building on July 13.

Trump was struck in the upper right ear but managed to avoid more severe injury. In addition to injuring Trump, Crooks killed one rally attendee, Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old former fire chief, and critically wounded two others. Crooks was eventually shot and killed by the U.S. Secret Service’s Counter Sniper Team.

The event unfolded at an open rally held as part of Trump’s campaign for the 2024 presidential election. Security at the rally included both state police and Secret Service agents, who had positioned snipers in nearby buildings. However, Crooks managed to position himself undetected on a roof, from where he carried out the attack. Witnesses reported seeing him on the roof with a rifle shortly before the shooting began.

Despite increased security measures due to prior intelligence suggesting threats against Trump, Crooks was able to evade detection until it was too late. Trump was treated at a nearby hospital and released later that day in stable condition. The assassination attempt did not deter Trump from making a public appearance just two days later at the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where he was seen wearing a bandage over his ear.

The attack led to widespread criticism of the security arrangements at the rally, particularly concerning lapses that allowed Crooks to position himself without detection. Kimberly Cheatle, the Director of the Secret Service, resigned ten days later. In the aftermath, Trump’s campaign organized a fundraising effort for the victims’ families, raising over $2 million.

Corey Lewandowski DESTROYS Liberal Reporter After She Tries To Misquote Him thumbnail

Corey Lewandowski DESTROYS Liberal Reporter After She Tries To Misquote Him

The New Atlantis

Just one day after being brought back to former President Donald Trump’s campaign team, Corey Lewandowski is already taking it to liberals. After journalist Tara Palmeri attempted to misquote Lewandowski in a post on X, he responded with a typical fervor.

Lewandowski, who had served as an informal adviser to former President Trump during his 2016 campaign, joined the senior leadership team of Trump’s current campaign on Thursday. A key figure in Trump’s circle and his new campaign efforts, Lewandowski took to X to correct the false reporting by Palmeri. Known for her inside scoops on political dynamics, the Puck News reporter tweeted about ongoing tensions within Trump’s camp at Bedminster. Her tweet suggested that Lewandowski was part of a chaotic restructuring aimed at sidelining other senior figures, such as campaign manager Chris LaCivita, by auditing campaign finances.

“Inside Bedminster, there’s a pervasive anxiety that Trump is trying to recreate the chaos from 2016. No one thinks Lewandowski and LaCivita can cohabitate for long, leading some people close to Trump to speculate that he’s trying to push LaCivita out,” Palmeri wrote.

“One obvious vulnerability facing LaCivita is his astronomical fee: his firm collects $50,000 each month from the RNC & Campaign, part of the nearly $1.7 million he’s invoiced the campaign since January, up from the $1.65 million he billed in 2023. Lewandowski told me: “I have never told anyone I will be conducting a forensic audit of the campaign, nor have I alluded to, or have any understanding of, how much money Chris LaCivita may or may not have billed this campaign.”

However, Lewandowski responded with a forceful denial, stating, “Tara – I have never told anyone I will be conducting a forensic audit of the campaign, nor have I alluded to, or have any understanding of, how much money Chris LaCivita consulting may or may not have billed this campaign.” He accused Palmeri of manufacturing stories, adding, “Please stop with the innuendo, the speculation, and the outright lies. This is why America doesn’t believe the news anymore because you’re just making things up.”

As Trump aims to strengthen his position in the presidential race, his campaign has expanded its team, enlisting several key allies, including Lewandowski, who previously managed Trump’s 2016 campaign. Sources associated with the campaign have emphasized that the recent additions to the leadership team are not indicative of a major overhaul, but rather an enhancement of the campaign’s management as it gears up for the critical final months before the election.

Among the new appointees is Tim Murtaugh, former communications director for Trump’s 2020 campaign. Also joining the team are Alex Pfeiffer and Alex Bruesewitz, both of whom held significant roles in the Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. super PAC, with Bruesewitz boasting a substantial social media following. Earlier this week, Politico reported that Taylor Budowich, formerly at the helm of MAGA Inc., has transitioned to a senior position within the Trump campaign.

“As we head into the home stretch of this election, we are continuing to add to our impressive campaign team,” Trump campaign senior aides said in a statement. “Corey Lewandowski, Taylor Budowich, Alex Pfeiffer, Alex Bruesewitz, and Tim Murtaugh are all veterans of prior Trump campaigns and their unmatched experience will help President Trump prosecute the case against Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the most radical ticket in American history.”

Lewandowski has been known for his close ties to former President Trump. He was the inaugural campaign manager for Trump’s 2016 presidential run but was dismissed by Trump during the Republican primary season. Afterward, Lewandowski transitioned to a role as a political commentator with various networks, including One America News Network, Fox News, and CNN.

Her tweet suggested that Lewandowski was part of a chaotic restructuring aimed at sidelining other senior figures, such as campaign manager Chris LaCivita, by auditing campaign finances.

Alan Dershowitz Makes Ominous Prediction On Trump’s Possible Prison Sentence

The New Atlantis

Convicted on 34 business records violations, former President Trump was originally scheduled for sentencing on July 11. However, following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that determined presidents possess partial immunity for actions taken while in office, the sentencing was postponed to September 18. This delay, granted by Judge Juan Merchan, has allowed time for both Trump’s defense team and the office of Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to adjust their strategies.

The case has stirred considerable controversy, not least because of Judge Merchan’s refusal to recuse himself over conflicts of interest, given his daughter Loren Merchan’s professional ties to Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party. On Wednesday, famed lawyer Alan Dershowitz weighed in with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“It’s so deeply embedded the one rule that we have violated is the most important rule of all, a single standard of justice without regard to who the person is,” Dershowitz explained. “You know, the Bible commands judges do not recognize faces, do not recognize political parties, do not recognize partisanship. By the standards used by Judge Merchan to convict Donald Trump of a non-crime, you called it a novel crime. It’s not a crime at all.”

“My preference would be to have neither of them charged. I want to see the charges against Trump dropped, but it’s not gonna happen,” Dershowitz continued. He predicted a peculiar outcome: “Merchan is gonna sentence him to prison, but he’s not gonna impose the prison sentence. He’s gonna say, ‘I’m sentencing you to prison, you deserve imprisonment for this, but I’m going to suspend the sentence.’”

WATCH:

The speculative outcome, according to Dershowitz, would allow the judicial system to make a statement while avoiding making Trump a martyr in the eyes of his supporters, potentially galvanizing his base. “But right now, I agree with you, it’s unfixable. So much destruction has been done to it.”

Hannity hinted at the social repercussions for Trump, suggesting that while he might face ostracization in some quarters, such as being rescinded from social invitations, the ultimate impact of this case might be negligible in the long run. “He’ll get all the invitations that were rescinded from you when he goes to Martha’s Vineyard and hangs out in New York City. They’ll be able to say, they’ll get what they want, convicted and sentenced, and then it’ll get overturned and nobody will care because that’ll be after the election.”

Trump’s initial plea for recusal was filed by Trump’s legal team in May 2023. They contended that Justice Merchan’s impartiality could be compromised because of his daughter’s consultancy work, which included support for Joe Biden. In his attempt last month, Trump pointed to new circumstances in his ongoing bid to have Justice Juan Merchan recuse himself from his criminal case.

With Biden no longer seeking reelection and Vice President Kamala Harris stepping into the presidential race, Trump’s team argued that Merchan’s impartiality was in question due to his daughter’s firm’s support for Harris. However, Justice Merchan dismissed the request this past Tuesday—a decision that was publicized on Wednesday. He stated that Trump’s arguments were merely reiterations of those previously rejected by both him and an ethics panel.

American Icon Passes Away At 88

Wally Amos, the pioneering entrepreneur behind the renowned Famous Amos cookie brand, has passed away at the age of 88. Starting with a modest $25,000 loan from friends in Hollywood in 1975, Amos launched what would become one of the first companies to market high-quality cookies directly from its own stores. His innovative approach helped make Famous Amos a household name globally.

He died on Tuesday at his home in Honolulu, with his children, Shawn and Sarah Amos, citing complications from dementia as the cause of his death according to The New York Times.

Often hailed as the father of the gourmet cookie industry, Amos has an inspiring story that goes beyond his famous chocolate chip cookies. Born in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1936, Amos faced early challenges but transformed them into stepping stones. After a stint in the Air Force, he moved to New York City where he worked as a stock clerk at Saks Fifth Avenue. His charisma and zeal soon led him to the William Morris Agency, where he eventually became the first African American talent agent. There, he represented superstars such as Simon & Garfunkel and Marvin Gaye.

However, it was his homemade cookies that made Amos a household name. In 1975, he set up “Famous Amos” on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California, with the encouragement and financial support of his celebrity friends. His chocolate chip cookies quickly became a sensation, appealing not just for their taste but also for their premium ingredients.

“You can’t compare a machine-made cookie with a handmade cookie,” Amos said in a 2007 MSNBC interview. “It’s like comparing a Rolls-Royce with a Volkswagen.”

Despite his initial success, Amos’s journey was not without its setbacks. Financial missteps and management issues led him to lose control of the Famous Amos company by the late 1980s. The brand changed hands several times, though Amos himself never regained an ownership stake. Yet, his entrepreneurial spirit was undeterred. He launched other ventures, such as “Uncle Noname Cookie Company,” which was later renamed “Uncle Wally’s Muffin Company.”

In a 1991 interview with Detroit Black Journal, Wally Amos shared that his journey into the cookie business was more about passion than profit. “I started making cookies just to make a living and to be happy doing what I was doing,” Amos explained.

“And I just, I was so committed and so involved and so joyous about it.” He further emphasized his mindset at the outset, saying, “I didn’t say, ‘Hey, I’m going to go in the cookie business, make a lot of money, you know, sell out of cookies.’ I said, ‘Well, do something I like the way I want to do it,’ you know, I’m going to have fun doing it.”

Beyond his business endeavors, Amos has dedicated a significant part of his life to literacy causes. Troubled by his own early reading difficulties, he founded the Read It Loud! Foundation, advocating the importance of parents reading to their children. His commitment to education and literacy underscores his belief in giving back to the community.

JUST IN: Shocking New Details Emerge From Tim Walz’s DUI Arrest

The New Atlantis

In September 1995, then-high school teacher and 31-year-old Tim Walz was arrested for speeding and driving under the influence in Nebraska. He was caught driving 96 mph in a 55 mph zone, and a blood test at a local hospital revealed a blood alcohol level of .128, exceeding the state’s limit of 0.1. Walz pled guilty to reckless driving and later used the incident to educate students about the dangers of drinking and driving.

His attorney stated that Walz sped up initially because he mistook the pursuing state trooper for a pursuer. CNN now reported yet another example of past misrepresentations by the Minnesota Governor, focusing on his 1995 DUI arrest. As Governor Walz pairs up with Vice President Kamala Harris for the upcoming November elections, his history of distorted truths continues to stir controversy among conservatives.

Despite the clear records from 1995, during his 2006 congressional campaign, Walz’s team told a different story. They denied any alcohol consumption on the night of his arrest, attributing his failed field sobriety test to hearing impairments from his service in the National Guard. Moreover, they falsely claimed that Walz was permitted to drive himself to jail, contradicting the actual events where he was transported by a state trooper.

An investigation by CNN’s KFile has highlighted significant discrepancies in the descriptions provided by the campaign of Governor Walz.

When questioned about arresting a man named Tim Walz for drunk driving on a distant Saturday night, Nebraska State Trooper Stephen Rasgorshek referenced a rule he developed over the course of making over 1,000 similar arrests on Nebraska’s roads.

“One of the things I’ve always said is, anyone can get a DUI. It’s what you do with it after you get the DUI,” Rasgorshek said to The Daily Beast on Monday. “If he had stuck with his story of, ‘Look, it changed my life and I stopped drinking,’ I would commend him, 1,000 percent.”

Walz’s campaign manager, Kerry Greely, told the Rochester Post Bulletin that Walz wasn’t drunk. She explained that ear damage from his time with an artillery unit in the Minnesota National Guard had affected his balance and impaired his hearing, making it difficult for him to follow the trooper’s commands.

“The DUI charge was dropped for a reason: it wasn’t true,” Walz’s then-campaign communications director told local news in 2006. “The trooper had him drive to the station and then leave on his own after being at the station. Tim feels bad about speeding and has paid the ticket and apologized to his family at the time it happened.”

Contrary to these statements, the actual police report from the incident revealed that Walz was not allowed to drive himself anywhere following his arrest. Instead, he was transported by police to a local hospital for blood alcohol testing. Further confirmation from Nebraska state police this week showed the discrepancy.

“Under NSP procedure, a person suspected of impaired driving is not allowed to continue driving,” said Cody Thomas, a spokesman for the Nebraska State Patrol, to CNN. “In this case, the suspect was transported by the trooper and was lodged in Dawes County Jail.”

Over the years as Walz ventured into politics, his account of the event shifted. His 2006 congressional campaign contended that he was not drunk, with claims that he had hearing difficulties due to his military service which affected his ability to follow the trooper’s instructions during the sobriety test. His campaign also argued that the DUI charges were dismissed because the judge recognized these mitigating factors. By 2018, when running for governor, Walz described the arrest as a pivotal moment that led him to quit drinking, with Diet Mountain Dew becoming his new beverage of choice.

The pattern of distorting the past is not isolated to his DUI case. Walz’s career in the military and his frequent misrepresentations about his rank further highlight a troubling trend of inaccuracies. As Walz steps onto the national stage, this could pose significant challenges to his credibility and the broader Democratic campaign.
